I'm not entirely sure why he was banned, there are no posts that i see (other than on his profile)... so maybe some explanation first would be nice?

I appreciate you playing on the servers and enjoying them, but threats are to be taken seriously.

Threats to dox are pretty serious, and when you eluded to swatting (at least what I interpreted "sending friends to your house" to be) is also serious.

I'm okay with a reduced ban, but that's up to @Chrono @Bleed @Snackbar or @Rhododendron

Kind of hard to tell whats going on, especially in the first video. Next time, if possible, give us as much time before the killing starts so we can for sure determine what the orders were/if the kills were for a reason.

Based on the second video I think its pretty same to assume it was a mass, thus will be permed from CT.

Unfortunately, for us to be fair we can't believe the "it was my brother" excuse. BUT

I think reducing it to a CT ban is fine, for now. I would say play some more on the server, and in a few weeks time reapply to get the reduction of the CT ban.

TLDR

Will reduce to CT ban (instead of server). Post again in a few weeks to ask for a month/2wk CT ban (instead of perm).

If anyone disagrees, let me know, but until then he will be unserverbanned, with a perm ct ban.

Also @Chrono not entirely sure that Fentoo deserves a permanent server ban; his should definitely just be a wk or 2 ct ban.

Even if there is logic to somehow claim this is in soccer, using common sense should say that it is a cheap spot and presents an unfair advantage.

In addition does this not only have 1 entrance?

For clarification, this IS NOT part of soccer and use of it during warday will result in a slay.

There have been several warnings about using teamswap, and continued use of it has already lead, in part, to a demotion.

I don't like seeing people get demoted, but y'all need to stop the abuse...

looking at previous warnings for minecrack, the past 2 warnings said perm next time something happens, so I see no reason that his at least shouldn't be perm. no opinion on the others, but similar should definitely be considered

Ha, i knew I put those warnings there for good reason. Ill change his now to a perm. The others are still debatable.

Pinoy, Warrior, and Aegean are all banned for a week after reviewing chatbox. Thin Ice rule is in play if they do it again itll be a long time before they are welcome back

This isn't the first time or place that they get together in a group to troll and harass members of xG.

I understand that they are old members, but they literally provide nothing beneficial to the community anymore, and only seek out to hurt it whenever they get in the mood.

Exactly, the purpose of CLs is to handle internal management issues, not to interfere with the operation of divisions. They were created to deal with conflicts like forum privilege abuse and player harassment. This is an overstep. If it didn't go through or was slowed it would impact moderator & ban protest management. (server level)

 

There's nothing actually wrong here, it's just a cherry pick because it sets a bad example for people who may actually create a conflict; by promoting people with no qualifications for selfish reasons. "Just because they can"

It's not cherry picking at all. This would have been done to anybody that did the same thing.

Then follow your protocols. Just don't make protocols for a server/division you take no part in and no insight as their effects. I will handle the oversight of my staff, until there is a change in conditions which make these protocols appropriate. If there's an issue which retains to internal management let myself know.

As a DL, you need to abide by the same protocols that each DL does. This specifically includes the correct process of promotion.

Well this is definitely an exception to that procedure. Furthermore, CLs shouldn't be digging for a say in this matter, as they are not active on gmod.

 

I promote people who are qualified for the position not because they're a friend. It's ironic to think this was the reason for promotion because I had to demote a friend for awhile ago. (which likely should have been logged on demo) It does add a lot of accountability if you know the person; which, is generally good thing. However, that wasn't the solo reason for this promotion. All division staff which work under my oversight are held to very high expectations.

Let me reiterate, the point isnt to call into question if you know who to (or not to) promote. The point is that there is a process that needs to be followed when promoting someone to have powers that stretch beyond mod. With a promotion to DM, you are promoting someone who can, and should, have an impact on the entire clan. Based on the way it was handled, there is nothing stopping me from promoting whoever i want, to whatever i want. Hopefully you understand why that is a major issue.

Just because CLs don't play in a division doesn't stop them from having the ability to question decisions or approve (and deny if we incline to) any promotions/demotions. We are here to make sure things are done correctly, and with the whole clan in mind. We do have a reason for "digging" in this matter.

He's been administrating the Morbus server for over a year now and is a personal friend of mine. The qualifications are more than present for him to handle this task. I've communicated to him all the required information. Furthermore, he is watching the forums as required to handle the ban protests and moderator management.

 

I am getting busier in the upcoming year and will not be nearly as active to handle these things. And it is highly inefficient for myself to be completing repetitive tasks instead of improving the servers.

 

Nobody else knows about this yet expect for upper staff, so it can still be easily communicated through the promo to the rest of the clan. Rhododendron has already pushed the division manager tag on the forums as requested by myself.

I don't doubt your decision or his ability to fulfill the division manager position.

But you have to imagine how this would sound to a lot of people in this clan. We have a division leader promote someone to division manager, who is a personal friend, and has literally 0 forum activity. That is probably the biggest no-no. It would be the same thing if I decided to promote a personal friend of mine to CL, without following any of the rules or restrictions.

Im surprised silence didnt question it at all, especially since he wants more activity on the forums and teamspeak...

Anyway, dont take this personally or anything, just understand that the implications it could have would impact us all. The community trusts us, especially CLs, to monitor and promote people who are active in the community in addition to being suitable to their roles.

Do i think we need to do anything about this? Eh, probably not. But I will be much more vocal if it does (not aimed at you Sticks, but everyone in general).

Alright, I'd like the other CLs opinions on this. I'm a little concerned if this was never mentioned to anyone before he/she was promoted.

Things like this should go through promo demo, imo. (Especially for a promotion to DM on someone with 4 whole posts on the forum)

!rules was infact broken for a period, whether or not that's coinciding with the time he/she was banned.

If so, a reduction to a day or week is more than sufficient. Even not i still think it should be reduced.
