Ehh, it's pretty easy to just follow a guide and use regedit to change it. IIRC setting your productID to zero breaks teamspeak's productID ban all together.

I still think discord's new user moderation settings are extremely powerful.

His post was more-so to respond to me saying teamspeak IP bans because I didn't know discord ip bans as well.

IP bans are easy to circumvent, if anyone wants to go out of their way to harass a xG discord we can enable any of the account moderation settings for new members (e.g. verified email+phone).

Doing so would prevent even the most persistent individuals, whilst not affecting the experience of anyone with a rank on the server.

I've been using discord a lot more recently and I think it's time we consider making the swap as a community. Everyone has their respective points in this thread, but as of right now teamspeak is really just people in community channels, any of the real channels are rarely used.

I'll be brief with the logistics, but, Discord would be more beneficial compared to teamspeak at this point for our community.

We'll still have seclusion of private/community channels.
Everything we have on teamspeak right now can be integrated into our discord server (minus subchannels).
A truly centralized server for all the divisions, the popularity of our tf2 division might be able to assist our CS:GO division (or others) if we have an official discord. This would be the equivalence of CS members from teamspeak spilling over to gmod+minecraft years ago.
Furthering my previous point, all the members of our community will be able to socialize easily with general chats and open channels.
Announcements will be easier to do and get across our community due to the nature of notifications on the platform. People utilizing the discord server are more likely to see any notification from it.

I can't stress enough how powerful bots for discord can be compared to ts3.

Honestly, my argument in the past has been that bigger discords are a shit show to manage. This is due to me not being in a big discord that is well managed. Well managed discords with large communities are actually nice when you have an adequate amount of staff and bots for managing chat (typically, you want to automate this). So I will retract my statements from previous threads and say bigger discords can be managed successfully (if not better than teamspeak).

Why not a public thread to iron out the issues that you or the other tf2 higher ups have with the community?

If you don't think anything will come from such a discussion then you're misunderstood. Pretty silly to step down in such a fashion.

I remember when we were on tinychat with the old fags when we were all around 16 - 17 and I was streaming omegle, and I was able to get other teen girls to put shoes on their head and say that warriorsfury has a small penis.

OH yeah, and after I got warned by a twitch admin that I can't stream omegle, legend gave me one of his alt stream accounts, I streamed on it under "Minecraft Madness" and the same twitch admin said "really...". Needless to say I got IP banned + every single account that Legend and I made were banned in one go.

Based on your previous posts, you didn't really investigate this entire situation. You don't really know the history of Brian and it sounds like you are just going based off of what other people are telling you. The way Brian was *insulting* you was agreeably childish, however, it should not warrant a ban. I mentioned the fact he was a good staff member because it implies he should have some slack cut for him. You know, the same slack rejects was cut for abusing his powers. At this point it seems like you can't handle being wrong.

Since you have failed to read all of my short, but important, thread responses I'll have to reiterate this for you. When you base a ban on someone's prior bans, then the substance of those bans matter. Meaning, bogus bans should not be considered. The majority of his previous bans are permanent, and also bogus. If you're going to be a staff member and leave input on a ban appeal then you must put in careful scrutiny into your actions on the appeal. You have failed to do that.

Why didn't you investigate the bans? You seem to be acting very irrational right now.

This ban is by far one of the most ridiculous threads I have seen in years.

    Let's get this straight...

The solution here for a ban appeal on someone with a very minimal ban history, and a rich history of being a great staff member is to week ban him for a name on a server.
Not only that, his name wasn't even offensive, it was just Admins are Badmins. Are staff that fragile that a name criticizing you is warrant of a week ban? Ridiculous.

The fact this needs a ban is childish, the fact @Vexx or @Kypari didn't investigate anything is ridiculous.

If you're going to bring up a persons ban history, then the content of the bans do matter.

The *procedure* does not matter when almost all of the bans are bogus (hell, there are plenty of cases where your *procedure* is not even applicable). Feel free to try and figure it which of the bans are legitimate. Based off of your post and others, no one has actually investigated. It is very easy to sweep things under the rug when you don't particularly like a person, unfortunately that won't work.

You did zero research and went based off of other people said, then used that information in your post. There's no telling how correct your information is on Brian.

Rejects was cut a lot of slacks for blatantly lying and abusing his powers. I'm not going to hang on this too long to minimize the issues this thread is already causing people, but, the fact he was allowed to stay in this clan is definitely slack. This was probably a mixture of a lot of people liking him and slack for his work on the servers.

Now, banning someone for the name "admins are badmins" is not fair. That's just shows certain staff members have thin skins. Staff should never have to use their powers for insults against them unless they are getting flat out personal attacks or are disrupting the server.

The most recent ban was two years ago. Based off of this thread, the tf2 higherups have showed zero scrutiny whilst dealing with this case. Vexx agrees with me, and your posts verify my statement. You don't get where I am "coming from" if you believe an offence from two years ago should be carried over for somebody making their name "admins are badmins."

He went off what admins said. 3 of them at least. Surely staff should be trusted enough or they wouldn't be staff in the first place?

I banned him after asking a private discord server what they thought. Response was ban him.
    So I did.

The most recent ban was a week. TF2 higherups are agreeing that a month was justified since he had already had a week ban. I get where you're coming from though.
