You can just mute client-side. It stops you from seeing what they type and say on mic.

It's essentially the same lines behind dieZombie's and Caleb's bans. Contributing to spam, disrespecting fellow players, voteban abuse, etc. The reasons are listed on your actual ban which is two days long.
 
Tomorrow at 7:45PM, your ban will be lifted.

From what I'm hearing, we all agree that he should be banned and that this plugin should be added. He has been permanently banned from all servers. He was mouthing off to members about how he had stolen his pan, so that was the final straw. I consulted with Kbraszzle and we both agreed that it is a federal crime (Grand Larceny), and that we should not be allowing someone like that to hang around with the community.

You can't be serious? I see at least a quarter of the poketrade server actively adverting for trades 24/7
I see people trading in FF2 and JB quite often too, I often have to remind them not to do it on mic....
 
Also, you sort of contradict yourself... how could this cause the population to drop if "Noone trades"??? If noone is trading then a tag that labels them a scammer isn't going to hurt their not trading-ness....

All I'm saying is that if it were my servers, known scammers wouldn't be allowed in. Period.
 
Sorry @Kart, nothing personal. You're a great guy, but even though some get marked for a small mistake, many get marked for large ones. I'd rather be safe than sorry. =(
 
OFC, that's an extreme measure to take, and it'd be foolish to do it when our servers are used to us never having such restrictions.
 
I DO however like the idea of having a tag for scammers.

Just gonna put this out there: SteamRep doesn't fuck around. If they even get a whiff of a server allowing known high-level scammers float about in their servers, they can and will mark said server.

Oh come on. Who even trades on xG servers? It's more of a club where you can trade. Giving someone a tag before their name is stupid when all you have to do is trade them to see if they're a scammer or you can check their steamrep and backpack.tf status.

Oof. This is a fine line we are walking. Steamrep states that anyone who supports scammers by trading with them will be marked as "caution" or "warning".
 

 
As it hasn't even been a year yet, I don't think we should be allowing him to run free on our servers.
 
I'm up for making a rule that states that your SteamRep ban must be OVER a year old before you can even step foot in an xG trade server, and then add a little disclaimer at the bottom that says it is the responsibility of the people on the server to check the rep of the people they are trading with! Paypal scams are a serious offense as they can constitute grand larceny charges if they go over a certain amount! That's a federal offense!

I do not think that the location of the scam should matter since technically they don't really ever happen on the servers anyways, but via steam/steamfriends.

Well that depends on why he got banned, did he mass freekill? Did he ddos the server or was part of a group that was permed for ddosing the server? Did he hack?

Then sue him for all the damages.

After watching the demo, I think I was just laggy.
Op has proven that he cares about the servers and was always friends and calm. (Plus he didn't hack, lol)
