Every time I get on the server it has a ton of people in it

7-8 does not classify as a ton.

Dunno if you've been on recently, but in the past 3-4 weeks, that server hasn't crested 12-13 people online at all.

It's not as if the maps have vanished either. As it was stated earlier, Nintendo Trade is a thing, and it's practically identical to what TGH was before it was changed to 24/7 Clocktown. Now, people actually have a reason to use it.

I thought the whole point of TF2 was that the classes were balanced and countered each other? Where's the "No class is best" option?

Srsly, have seen Martle on multiple times. Pleasant and not disruptive.

Bach and Swift hit the nail on the head. Our Admins and Mods need a crash course in etiquette when it comes to dealing with issues. We need to stop treating our patrons like highschoolers treat each other and set a higher precedence for our clan.

I do want to disagree the point that we don't need different servers, however. We have quite a few extra servers that are simply duplicates of others that are never populated. I think a Surf and a Dodgeball server would be excellent additions to our repertoire, allowing us to expand to other parts of the TF2 community that we currently do not reach.

But our main focus needs to be how we deal with other players first. Fix that, then worry about repopulation.

I'm going to be the one who strays from the norm here. I personally like the change back to 24/7 Clocktown. It's always been my favorite map out of the entire rotation, and I remember the glory days when it was always Clocktown before we began trying other maps.

Don't get me wrong, the other maps are amazing as well, but Clocktown seems to be the one that nearly ALWAYS gets voted for, due to its design and its popularity. It isn't as if we lost the other maps either. We still have the Nintendo based server where all the other maps have roosted.

I say keep it as is. I hated switching maps every ten minutes because people have an attention span of a potato. One map is fine by me, and I have no issues with Clocktown.

EDIT: I am aware that Nintendo is not very popular at the moment, but now people actually have a reason to go there. It doesn't share 80% of its maps with TGH anymore. Short answer to the issue is that if you want to play on the other Nintendo maps, use the Nintendo server.

How about we change "No immature voices." to "Keep the mic open for traders." on trade servers? We can enforce other rules if need be, and lump in the annoying ones to mic spam if they get out of control?

I've heavily enforced the "No squeakers" rule since I received mod, but I honestly feel like it is a tad bit discriminatory. Do away with it and just deal with the annoying ones.

I think it's a great idea to implement something like this, but these vote systems are easily abused by large amounts of people. As long as it can be regulated and isn't abused, I'm all for it.

I don't know about his past shenanigans, but from what I've seen in the servers, he is active, pretty chill, and usually not annoying or disrespectful on the mic.

I wouldn't mind Halloween mode on the servers, except for Unusual Trade. It makes Spycrabbing a real headache. =(

I never said "cancer" but I use terms like steaming pantload-tier/low-tier, if they're offended, then it sucks for them.

I don't think "low-tier" would generate any issues, but I can definitely see a problem arising from using the term "shit-tier".

I have no opinion here, I don't mind when Kypari calls my Heavy unusual Ew and such because it's duped. In the end it depends on the person who's being degraded and how butthurt they'll get about it.

It really does come down to how chill a person is about their stuff, but that's the same with anything really. There's a certain threshold with what you can and can't joke about with people, and it's different with everybody.

I personally feel that if we allow this kind of monologue however, we WILL run into headaches because eventually someone will raise a stink about it. I don't want to be the guy in the position to have to tell them to "Get over it", because disrespect is one of our biggest issues, so I think we shouldn't allow it to begin with, just to prevent future issues.

Well, considering it was Nom himself who asked us to not only design the server, but the rules as well...how unofficial do you think this really is?

I'm just doing what I was asked. I was tasked with completing an Unusual server rule list. I made a thread taking suggestions about it days ago where we pulled some of these rules. Others came from other servers. Now it's finished, Nom has approved, and it has been finalized. This isn't a thread to discuss the rules. This is a thread to let Nom know they are finished.

When I used to go to The Vatican Trade/PPM, it was completely fine to call unusuals steaming pantload-tier/asking for quicksales. Hell, even PPM/Shadow/Other rich fudges even ask for quick sales every now and then, and when I started unusual trading, everyone started calling my unusuals "steaming pantload-tier". Honestly, I still don't understand why this 2 rules are so important

Well personally, I believe here at xG, we should hold ourselves to a higher precedence than that. I believe we are above disrespecting other people's hats.

I disagree with some of these rules, you've restricted it to a point where most players won't even be able to play because of the rules. I'll post a larger comment later with more detail on my opinion.

Honestly, what's the fuss about buying quicksells? I honestly don't agree with that rule and the one about not using words like "steaming pantload-tier".

It's as if none of you guys even frequent Unusual servers, as this is literally the core ruleset shared among literally every popular Unusual Server in TF2. I honestly have no idea what you guys expect out of this server, but I can tell you that it isn't just another trade server. If it is populated, it will need to be strictly monitored and the rules will need to be strictly enforced, as Unusual Trading is a BIG DEAL in the TF2 community.

Disagree with the rules all you want, but anything less than this won't fly. This isn't a server where the main focus is coming in to kill other players. Don't forget that.

I personally have a LOT of experience in Unusual servers and know precisely the things that people look for in a good server. This list is the bare-bones basic of what Unusual Traders want when it comes to their host server. =)
