  1. Alright folks, ladies and gentlemen, scrubs and plebs, the time has come to announce the winner!

Now, before I go on I'd like to mention that most (if not all) riddles should not be taken literally, as is the case with the riddle I mentioned in the original post. So, without further ado ...

The winner of this particular competition is ...

    Drumroll please!

    @Goblins !

To be perfectly clear, I will now state why Goblins was the winner by dissecting the riddle, sentence by sentence. The answer was the Air Conditioner.

    1. "I am Green and Sometimes I'm not." This part of the riddle was taken far too literally, and to ease the minds of many, that image was not photoshopped or tampered with in any way. The figure that you saw in the reflection was in fact a Yoshi plushie, however it was positioned behind the TV in a way that it could not be seen with the sole intention to trick those who thought it was "hidden in plain sight" which it was not. Anywho, this was hint #1. The Air Conditioner (which in this case is also a fan, I apologize that it was unfair as that isn't something that would have been known) is green in that using the fan option not only saves power, but also does not produce Greenhouse Gases. Therefore, it is Green (environmentally) and sometimes it is not.
    2. "I Consume many Things, and you Know me Well." Not only does this hefty object consume a lot of power, but it also results in a lot of money spent through hydro as well as taking up a lot of space since it is not a wall-mounted A/C, thereby consuming many things. These things are pretty well known, I'm not sure if anyone hasn't heard of one.
    3. This one is self explanatory. Literally right there in the picture. The last portion of this part was accurate as no one seemed to pick up on any of the hints.
    4. Again, self explanatory. Not to be taken literally, but to be taken in that it is incredibly easy to spot.

Anyways, congratulations to Goblins on winning this particular competition. I may end up doing another competition like this in the future, so stay posted! @ASock ;)

I will now accept my bragging rights and my prize. Just let me know what I need to do in order to get my prize. @Forest

  2. ehh didnt feel like tagging you both, Idk 3k is fudge tier to me, just rat dota and or just fighting mid only. it's not that diff trust.

Oh alright. 3k is better than 2k. It has less trash players. That helps a ton though. Rat dota will never leave. It's pretty much how I win matches in my hellhole of a mmr.

  3. 100% of people will say video games as one of their things.

    Have gotten slammed alot.

    Blazed it for black jesus.

Played music with my friends at some local places.

Yeah, pretty much work, getting drunk, and doing stupid shit. Also, 3 grams and nothing? That fucking sucks. @Goblin

  4. That wasn't people having their opinions on staff. That was two players trying to get Flareon to snap by making fun of him for getting demoted.

Regardless of why Flareon was demoted, that gives no reason for players to harass him about it. That isn't needed.

@Hachi, there is a rule for player disrespect and options for making threads like these. Flareon felt as he was justified to make one, so he did. Not to get them banned because Flareon knew he didn't have enough evidence, but more of a showing of what he goes through on the servers now.

The kid just wants to be left alone and doesn't want people nit picking him for making dumb reasons.

Honestly, you can probably close this thread now because it's only to grab the administrator's eyes.

  5. I'd honestly +1 this if I was a member. Honestly, like Nu_13 said, Vector still shows that he cares about the TF2 division. Regardless of his put downs, he still tries to get the division to see the light on most things. Especially when it's really big issues that occur. Biggest example would be the whole "suicide threats" debacle.

Good luck, Vector. You're the hero we need.

  6. This update gave me a reason to start playing pubs again. The new maps look beautiful, and the skins look sleek. I never really cared about the market, so nevermind what could happen. The concept of contracts are pretty cool. I just want more skins. :(

  7. He knows he has no chances to get unbanned.. That isn't the whole point of him making this post. Stop talking about being unbanned. No one is saying he should be.

  8. So much oof from what i am seeing.

It is hard not to hold grudges. If someone robbed a store and i was the owner of that store. The guy goes to jail and gets out, i would still hold a grudge since he robbed the store.

It wouldn't be a grudge, it'd be a hatred for robbers in general. You don't want your store to be robbed anyhow.

But I get your point, grudges aren't hard to give up because of pride. You still shouldn't hold a grudge though. Unless Egossi kept messaging me and sending me threats and harassing me in a serious manner constantly, then I would grow a hatred for him. Later down the road, he left me alone and then pops up out of no where with a serious apology? I'd probably forgive him. That doesn't mean that I will be instantly best friends with Egossi, but it's a start of a new path.

  9. What exactly is Egossi trying to get? People to accept his apology at most. He is is apologizing for being a turd in the past. Whether or not you accept it, that's up to you. He even stated that he knows the chances of him being unbanned is slim to none due to the evasions on his ban.

Also, you can see peoples past names on their Steam profile. Match up the names and then you know if Egossi pulled that stunt. But, when you say you're trying not to hold a grudge, but yet still pull past events and hold them dearly. Seriously, I'm not telling you to accept his apology, but drop that junk and at least listen to him apologize with open ears and a blank mind.

  10. And I can confirm as well that Egossi caused no trouble while evading his ban.

Also, whether or not he wasn't being and "adult" and making a ban request, he's here to apologize for the mistakes that he has made. Hasn't anyone told you not to hold grudges?

    I've got your back, Egossi.

  11. As a note for future reference: Do not negatively state anything on any MOBA / AoS game within these discussions. if you want to fudgepost about one of them, post it in general where I will remove it anyway for being a fudgepost.

This is a board that was previously league only and changed to be friendly with all others as a neutral ground of fun and discussion of games. not to say one game takes more skill than the other or is better than the other (which is actually proven to be impossible to prove) [Ex: "DotA takes more skill because you have to deny creeps and pull them to jungle to be able to kill jungle monsters; you also have to pick and choose what abilities you want to use since they all cost your whole mana bar. no summoner spells" yes dota is a more metagame intensive aka macro for you starcrafters. But then you look at league and see a vast majority of skills are 'skill shots' compared to DotA where a vast {i think the number is somewhere around the 85% range} majority of skills are 'point and click' and there is a lot more player on player action through leagues own way of denying {bullying in lane to push them out of xp range and freezing lane so they cant get gold or xp} and more pvp fighting going on where split second precise aimed skills allow for the edge instead of everyone mile away targeting with point and click to kill. this is known as a micro intensive or performance in moment style.]

Wasn't really a shit post anyhow? In my own opinion from seeing and playing LoL, DotA is much more complex. That sentence didn't have the intention of coming off in a negative or bashful way towards the game.

My mindset was that this whole thread is to persuade other MOBA players to play DotA, which is the whole point of my post. Persuading people to convert to DotA or start playing the game in general.

Also for the record, DotA has lane bullies, and forty percent of the heroes in DotA have skill shots of some sort. ;) Flash farming is a mechanic used in both games. I know that, and that is why I never brought that up in my post. The micro intensive fights also occur, regardless of the "point and click" skills. You're going to get that in MOBAs.

I fixed my post to cut endless fighting, and I'll watch my wording next time to not trigger anyone in this MOBA division.

  12. Beat me to making this thread. :(

Anyways, Defense of the Ancients differs from League of Legends.

The most unique mechanic in DotA is creeps and farming in general. Blocking creeps, pulling creeps into jungle camps, and denying your own creeps just so you can end up having more money than your opponent in lane. Keeping creep equilibrium is important (in lower ranking mmr this doesn't really apply, it's just good to practice).

Another unique feature to DotA is the fact that you can control more than one unit. There are many heroes in the game that can take over creeps and use them to their advantage, all while controlling your own hero at the same time. Meepo is the hero that I play religiously, and you have four other meepo clones to control. Some of the jungle creeps can give auras to help out. Some examples of these auras would be attack speed boost, damage boost, defense boost, healing boost, etc.

The best thing about this game is that all the heroes are unlocked. You can play anyone you want, and you don't have to save up points or buy points to unlock them earlier. Only thing that Valve puts out for sale is hats and HUD skins. You don't need these at all, they just make your hero look cooler. (y)

DotA is just more complicated to play, but still easy to learn. If you already have League mechanics down, then DotA should be no problem for you in low mmr.

If I have any more to add, I'll do so.

    Glhf, friends.

    Edited to satisfy Chrono.
