I had a lengthy tidbit typed up in response to this, but to be honest I'm just going to nod my head and go along with it.

I'd agree on the common sense thing, I feel like I should week ban said spammer next time he does it no matter what, though given how some things have been I don't want to go making some error in judgement.
At least now I know I'll be sure to do it next time, so thanks..

I don't really have any objections or things to say here, that would be fine though then. Though honestly I'd probably be more okay with a full year wait as opposed to six months on an expire.
In the cases of someone who breaks rules up until a kick and then waits a week or two before doing it again up until a kick- would I be in the wrong if I just banned them right away next time? There's a particular example I've kicked twice for it and has many accounts of it in the past as well, plus I did give them some explicit warnings, twice really, that next time it'd be a week ban since they had a day ban before. It's someone in specific that likes to randomly micspam.

I don't have too much more to add really, but yeah I'm all for the system so far as well as clarifying it differently from the usual punishments. Would say that it's also a nice gesture to probably tell the person why they're getting removed and all, though that seems like it'd just be common courtesy.
I'm kind of more on the stricter side of things when it comes to punishing, though I try not to go too deep on it, but after the number of situations with people getting in trouble up to a kick and then just 'cooling off' for a while before they go right back to it a few weeks later, I think I'd go with the kick and then ban for offenses after the first warning/kick/ban/etc.

I'm going to agree with it, a nice firm approach that shows that we aren't giving someone too many chances if they decide they want to start purposely abusing with their powers, though still give them a few chances to turn it around and stop.
We just have to be sure people know the difference between accidents and doing it on purpose since it's likely some people might try to frame others or say they were doing it on purpose, though some could also lie and say they weren't doing it on purpose- still, I'm sure most staff will recognize the difference.

I'd like to remind people not to resort to petty insulting and flaming or it's just going to make a bigger mess of things.
Try to keep it civil please.

When you take into consideration we keep certain people permed for things that happened years ago here or there depending (and I'm not talking about people who did really heinous things) then having someone's ban history carry over from years ago isn't exactly much further off, especially if they haven't changed much and the most you hear about them is that they're frequently a troublemaker for the hell of it from older players- also could see this myself during some of the times I was on while Brian was on.
Okay I'll just give you an example then, if I'm a member of this community and I freekilled enough to get a week ban, if in over 2 years I freekilled someone again, do I deserve a month ban?I'd honestly say yes probably if it was intentional- if you really didn't learn your lesson or change within two years then why would you receive a more lax punishment?

Inconsistencies are a given since we're not a hive mind, best we can do is shoot for things to be as consistent as possible among the staff body.
If we started allowing people to use slurs in a non-malicious way, that'd just pave the way for further problems when people using them in 'wrong' ways start bashing us for punishing them but not others just casually tossing them around. It'd probably just also lead to people abusing this in other ways as well.
Things work as they are, and I'd much rather be in a policed server than one that's just left to fend for itself or is very lax after being on a few others.
