1. I lean towards coffee with all sorts of different flavors, though I've always liked french vanilla the most. Usually causes me some stomach pain though whenever I do drink coffee. Fine with tea as well and would drink it, though I think coffee beats it out by a bit for me.

  2. Chances I'm going to get flak for this.

I'm going to have to stay neutral on this one.

You've caused issues not too long ago with people (you know who), and it worries me that it could happen again. Bello has made a good point about how when you snap, you go all out with such.

And as for the people that are saying "Don't worry about the past!", you can't just ignore that stuff. How they act or can act should affect your vouch towards the applicant. Sesh has only done it once (if you group the event all together), but would you wanna hire someone who acts like such when they're triggered and upset?

Can Sesh handle the job? Well sure, he has done it before. But behavior issues is why I'm stating I'm neutral on this.

Honestly, I feel as if it's too soon for you to re-apply, Sesh.

I'd hope you wouldn't get flak for it, I'd hope no one would get flak for anything. I did make this thread because I wanted to see people's thoughts and because of a bit of convincing from some others.

I did go off insulting you before since admittedly I'd always had my own issues with you here or there, unfortunately at the time I didn't opt to go talking them out and instead just lashed out instead.

People are free to say what they want here, I'll be fine with either result, I just hope it doesn't go devolving into a big argument.

I figured that I might try to get further involved with things around the servers again like in the past. Used to enjoy coming on and hanging around people while also keeping things clean or tidy, and while I made a fair share of mistakes at the end of my time as DM I'd like to think I can come back from those less than graceful days and maybe try this again since I did genuinely enjoy the months before that just playing around with friends and regulars or helping keep the peace and such. I don't expect everyone to be on board with this obviously, and I wouldn't blame them, though eventually I decided I'd still give it a shot regardless of the outcome and will continue to move forward from those days.

I'm not too sure where to start with this since I've never been too good at making longer posts aside when necessary, but I guess I'll just try and make it simple.

Some months back, namely around September if I remember, I'd decided to step down though did it in a pretty disgraceful way. I had a lot of issues with people here or there and there were other things going on outside of internet things that I'd rather not go into. It sort of led to me not really caring much anymore, so I just sort of started acting like a dingus and mouthing off to whoever, also purposely pushing to get a forum ban since I didn't really intend to come back at the time and it didn't matter to me. Well, it did end up happening, and though it was a week ban I had it changed to a perm by Vexx. From there on I would just come onto the servers every now and again, sarcasm and such included but avoiding really breaking any rules. I was well aware some people disliked me being around at all, since they made it sorta clear among other things, though this usually just amounted to us spitting at each other occasionally and not much more.

Fast forwarding a bit, I only would come on occasionally, but around a month and a bit ago I was just tired of keeping up the whole 'toxic guy' thing since at some point I mainly just did it since that's what people expected. I knew people probably said plenty of colorful things about me and to be honest there's some people I may never get along with that well, but it's better to just move on and not pay too much mind to it, go back to how I usually was and such. Ended up seeing about getting unbanned on the forums and was allowed back through which I'm thankful for, and from that point I sent an apology to someone I especially felt bad for acting rude towards, namely Virr. I don't believe I was fully in the wrong about everything, but I did go about it in a poor manner I can admit, would have probably been better to talk things out but sadly at the time I just wasn't caring too much anymore, so apologies for that.

Now having waited a month and a bit after coming back I'm seeing about getting back into things, leaving that stuff before behind and just going back to being more relaxed. I didn't want to reapply right away since it'd just seem bad on my part, I felt it'd be better to wait some time first and hopefully show I was being sincere about not coming back to cause another uproar. In the end it's mostly up to everyone else, I won't try to persuade or force anyone to, but I figured I'd give it a shot again since some others said I should try.

  5. Hopefully you and everyone else also has a great holiday as well. Most likely going to enjoy the day with family, maybe go out sledding and doing other snow related activities during the daytime thanks to finally getting snow and after that enjoying a nice evening eating sweets and other foods.

Nothing quite like going out and getting near frozen then coming home to a warm and toasty house.

  6. lol we cant have one single thread without people throwing shade at each other

regardless, @Sesh im gonna be honest: although there were times where i was upset with you, overall you did a great job! thank you!

The feeling is mutual honestly, heh, but thanks and you too.

  7. Why not a public thread to iron out the issues that you or the other tf2 higher ups have with the community?

If you don't think anything will come from such a discussion then you're misunderstood. Pretty silly to step down in such a fashion.

Putting aside silly xG stuff, TF2 is mostly boring now anyways.

  8. Well you said you were gonna step down, so this didn't come as a surprise, and regardless of whether or not you care I can't help but point out you've left a very bad impression on I think most people here by making this thread the way you did.

Hope it was the right decision to make in this situation, and thank you for your services.

    That's fine by me.

  9. It's really said that when I try to get the community all united on one platform that we pay for, instead of spread out on discord in their own little hubs, that you consider that a fudgefest and that I'm "shilling" for teamspeak. Regardless, you have been a major help to me when we switched our member apps as you were always super active to promote people to members as soon as the 2 day duration was up, and you always had a ton of input on anything tf2 related that was not only insightful but constructive. Thanks for all the work you've put in.

There's plenty more than just those little things I wanted to step down over.

    Regardless, thank you.

  10. Have you ever given teamspeak a try? Personally speaking, they are both very simple to use. pick a name, join a server, join a channel, talk. with discord you have a by default giant UI and your PMs stay open until you close them vs. teamspeak having a default small UI and PMs close when you close them or close teamspeak.

As a DM you should be readily available for any staff discussions taking place on TS and any questions from new players/members who find their way on teamspeak.

TS also has bots, that are available as created/allowed by the server owner same as discord, we just dont use them since they are pointless to have, the most notable features of the publicly hosted (free) discord bots are the same things as the twitch streamers, they announce when someone goes live etc. or put a song in chat, the same could be done by a regular person. You just have experience with discord bots because you "own the server" and invited a generic free use bot into it.

You can invite your outside of xg members into teamspeak, it is a public server for anyone that likes games etc. There is no stipulation that says you have to be an xG member, we have had people we met on tinychat join TS and stay for months and others we met randomly join and stay (hanney is a TS member xdddd)

The whole point of this thread is to understand why staff dont want to use teamspeak (aside from their circlejerking cliques about who their next target is to get demoted (see: vector step down) sp when you say "There's too many reasons to list" you do literally nothing to help this conversation and you make yourself as a staff member (especially a DM) seem like you just don't care about helping further the community or community discussions.

If the staff used teamspeak in the first place, you would be doing the same single message on teamspeak as you were discord, and if it is something major that really needs to be addressed to all staff instead of a "i'm logging off now guys" that should be something you message the DM/DLs of the division and let them handle distributing the information.

@Kypari you are basically saying you like discord because you have the owner power in your own server, sorry buddy, but that's life you wont have that power in teamspeak because you aren't silence. I think that is a joke of a reason not to use teamspeak for xG servers. you can spam a pron bot through PM in discord and break it just the same.

@Vargas and anyone else saying it's "super ugly" there are skins available that are IMO much better than discord UI but the default is also pretty nice.

@all most members and staff that step down or have issues state that there are fundamental issues within the community such as availability of discussing issues and availability of staff to talk to about concerns.

Myself personally I have had some questions time and time again about what exactly goes on in the TF2 servers and would look to message (preferably a DL/DM) a staff member from TF2 but the last dozen or so times the only one available to talk to was @Egossi on teamspeak, and before that was @Bello several months ago. By using your own several discord servers you actually drive a bigger wedge through the community by not being open to discussion about what is going on, and you make it harder for new/existing members or other staff to seek information on current events or ways things differ (clarifications on difference in rules/style)

K but I'm sticking to Discord.

  11. Teamspeak is ugly and showing its age, ignoring skins or whatever since I don't use those.

Discord has the luxury of bots among other things and has friends of mine outside xG, so I'm not sure why I'd ever want to use Teamspeak when both my xG friends and people outside it use discord.

There's too many to list really, but those are some of the more notable ones. Nothing that can be done will make me want to use Teamspeak again.

  13. I'm just going to close this since otherwise it's going to become an echo chamber where everyone parrots each other like the last three or so. Can check those threads Vexx linked to see why there's not an xG Discord if you're curious.

Feel free to open if someone feels differently though.

  15. I think the main things on my mind were these: there should be clarification made for everyone since as it is a few staff do think that the punishment works that it escalates regardless of rule broken rather than for each individual rule just so everyone is on the same page. Other than that I would just hope no one abuses the system by breaking one rule, then going and breaking a different one as to avoid longer bans.

It'd also be nice if there was a cleaner or faster way to check people's ban history among other things.

Mellowed out a bit since earlier, so I finally got around to thinking about how I wanted to word these. Still seems messy though and I might not be conveying my concerns that well.

  16. You micspam'd many times in the past, were very confrontational towards staff of all sorts and usually got aggressive when told about it, kept picking up that sign after being slayed and being warned alongside the person who originally had it, then micspammed and chatspammed more with multiple staff watching just a bit ago.

Not to mention first thing you do is go to the shoutbox and spam it with a meme before making this. You were told many times you were on thin ice and yet you kept doing it yet your reasoning is that you were paid to do it? That doesn't change anything.

I may have been a bit harsh just a bit ago when warning you, but I really tried to give you numerous chances, having just muted you a few days ago among warning you multiple times about the behavior in the past.
