Yeah let's just give this guy a warning for now, a ban isn't really necessary. Also, I will personally give this guy a huntsman the next time he is on the server.

Warning as said by many, though he hasn't been on since that day, at least not on TGH as far as I've seen. Can just keep a close eye on him next time he comes around if so.

Edit: Also give him a huntsman.

This may seem like gravedigging, but I have an actual addition.

    Random add.

I take a look at his account, nothing suspicious so far besides his inventory being private.

Oh, but what is this, Been active since 2010? But there is two years of service on the account that added me.
    Interesting.
Now there is only two logical solutions to why his account and backpack do not line up.
    A. He is a scammer
    B. He is a time traveler.
But me being the "logical optimistic" that everyone knows me as, assumed the latter. Hence the chat logs.
He has a decent cover up, but I am determined to unlock the secrets of time travel.
If he DID discover time travel, it would surely list it on his SteamRep. I do some digging.

What is this? He was a scammer. Gosh dangit all.
Obviously, I am disappointed. I wanted to bring home a pet dinosaur.
BUT WAIT! He stated that he paid 10$ a month to be marked as a scammer.
    For "protection".
    There may be hope...
    Nah.
My hypothesis is proven false. He is indeed a scammer. Shoot.
So I tried to offer him a MvM canteen out of pity, but he ended the trade before I could take a screenshot.
Hence the lack of canteen screenshot.
In Conclusion: That guy is a fucking dumbass.

    Nice review Septik!
Other M takes a lot of shit from the Metroid community, and often rightfully so. It's interesting that you find the game to have many more positives than negatives.
I've never played Other M or the Prime series myself (although I plan to using this new Wii emulator), so I can't speak to it personally.

I love the way you maneuver in Metroid, too. :3
    Also, LOL WTF

Yeah that's one thing that pisses the Metroid community off, the new ability authorization feature was a blow to a player's feeling of being like an unrestricted bounty hunter. Stuff like Samas' character (PTST, submissive as opposed to outgoing and cold-blooded) and the potentially sexist female deceptions and clichés plus a few other things I can't name off the top of my head also are noteworthy.

Something I didn't know about Other M was how similar a story and setting it had to Metroid Fusion, the final game (chronologically) in the storyline. Maybe that's one reasons fans hate it so much, for being apparently unoriginal? Besides the setting itself, a lot of the plot points and even charters first appeared (by release date) in Metroid Fusion. Having actually played Metroid Fusion, this does upset me a little. But probably not as much as it will when I actually play the game.

Huh, interesting. Every other Metroid fan I know said Other M's characters seemed shallow.

Oh cool he's from Super Metroid.
One of the space pirate (Zebesian) commanders. I'll talk about him in my Metroid 3 review, really one of the creepier parts of the game.

Thanks for the info on this game @TBOHB ! (y)
I have a few questions, though.

    1) How creepy is the game? That's a Metroid staple, after all.
    2) What other Metroid games have you played? How do they compare?
    3) What did you think of the difficulty? Too easy? Hard? Just right?
    4) How was the soundtrack?
    5) Anything else you want to respond to (the examples of Other M criticisms I brought up)?

This seems like a one time thing and doesn't deserve a ban but instead a warning. Unless this person has already been punished for this before I can see where you're coming from. Another thing is I don't really see the point of have adding those random comments as it doesn't really help with the situation. One last thing, that term ''nogga'' isnt a racial slur a nogga is a non-derogatory version of nigga, nogga has no racial or ethnic connotations (Definition found on this). Nogga is also a Pet Product company so theres also that (but he/she probably meant the other definition). So +1 for warning but -1 for ban

Well to start you off, I didn't find the game too creepy. There were parts that did jumpscare me at first. Otherwise depending on how much of a pu**y you are, it isn't really creepy.

I have played the original on the NES, Return of Samus on the GB, and Fusion on the GBA (just a little secret, I played it on my 3DS through an ambassador program many years ago Nintendo did. Just Google the program itself). My favorite Metroid game of all time would have to be Fusion. Im not sure why it is, I just find myself going back to it all the time. I would never compare Other M to any other Metroid game. That game is it's own entity and should be treated as so. I only say this because no other game in the series was done this way and should be treated as so.

Next, the difficulty wasn't hard, except for the hard mode you unlock after beating it once. It did provide a nice challenge. The most difficult part though was the Boss before the Epilogue. There is no clear indication on what to do so I googled it. But going back to Fusion one more time, the Shinespark in that game is super hard to pull off since they don't give you a whole lot of room to do so. But in Other M, it's perfect.

I do thank that about does it @james8470 . Hope I cleared up a few things for you.

Yeah Vesper is my gf! I've been playing competitive medic in UGC plat & ESEA IM for a few seasons now and only really knew of casual / pug games never really knew how much heart was in community servers but it really feels like a family over on XG. Like, I may not have all you guys added on steam but it almost feels like it because everybody is a familiar face. And yes! Vesper was the one who got me into XG it first started out as a occasional thing we would do to switch up whenever we played casual but since reaching rank 150 in casual it's almost lost its Value to us. So we have friendly competitions with each other. Her going on the other team trying to stab me as spy and Vice versa or sometimes we'll try to do Soldier/demo medic combos and try to get big kill streaks. Or she'll play sniper which i'm sure is one of her scariest classes haha. But yeah since meeting some key community members we've both decided to make the leap to becoming Full fledged members and i am excited to be able to interact and become a contributing member of this community. :)

    Game Name: Metroid: Other M

    Platform: Nintendo Wii

Time Spent: About 18-20 hours. I had one file where I first played the game and ended 100% in about 10-12 hours. I had a second file on hard mode which took about 8-9 hours
    Do you recommend?
I would recommend this game if you can find it at a cheap price and own a Wii (cuz I mean who doesn't).

What you rate the game: I give this game a 7.5/10

Initial Thoughts: First thing: Visuals. Holy crap the visuals and art work in this game are incredible for the Wii. I would never think this was a Wii game. Maybe think it was an Xbox 360 or PS3. One thing I was wierded out by was the first camera angles. They went really cinematic on the camera. It never got in the way and landscape would fade out if the player is in front of it, and I wish I saw that more in 3D platforms. Did I mention this is a 3D platformer? Well I think this is the first Metroid game that is a 3D platformer, and while a lot of people say it was too hard or they didn't get it right, I think they got it spot on (Ill get more into that later). My first thoughts when first going into the game were blown away and wish there were more games like this.

Gameplay and Story: As I mentiod previously, this game is a 3D platformer. This is one of the best I've played. You run fast all the time and glide through platforming areas like a russian gymnast glazed in butter and wrapped in the smoothest of silk. While I do dislike the limited 8 directions of movement on the d-pad, it can be comfortable in combat. But there are a lot of straights and your thumb WILL get sore after a little bit and holding one direction. Speaking of combat, the combat in this game is fast paced but is a real blast when you get good at it. At the beginning, a scientist runs you through the basics of combat with holograms of Zebesians. He'll tell you about this quickdodge where you tap one direction at the right time just before you get hit to perform it. And if you hold the attack button and do the quickdodge then your beam will be charged up to the max. The charged beam does more damage than the regular beam. You later get a diffusion beam upgrade that when you use the charged beam, it scatters and hurts things around it, making it useful where there are a lot of enemies. But back to the tutorial. The scientist then tells you about this mechanic called overcharge. If you charge the beam and jump on an enemy, it will do a lot more damage. Next is the morph ball, one of the most iconic abilities. All he does is tell you about the bomb and power bomb and it is over. Lastly is the missle. Point the Wii Remote at the screen to enter a first person view where you can lock to things, enemies, or whatever. Similar to Goldeneye 007 on the N64. Also throught the game, you will find upgrades whether it be more missiles, more HP, or charging up faster. The HP and missiles are more important in the long run, so get as many or much as you can find. While playing the game, you would come to the point where you would need to hit enemied behind glass, so Adam tells you to use your plasma beam and you can kill stuff through glass from the point foreward. He will tell you to do this from time to time to keep it flowing. Like "Samus. Use your Speed Boosters to break that wall" or "I need you to get to the other side. Super Missiles now authorized for use".

Now we can move onto the story.
The story is a little deep, but not very long, hence the short playtime. You start off by receiving an unknown distress which she names "Baby's Cry". Bounty Hunter Samus Aran heads to the location known as the BOTTLE Ship. She meets Galactic Federation 07th Platoon lead by your old friend and commander, Adam Malkovich. This is the beginning part but I wouldn't want to spoil the ending and juicy parts...

But I will anyways. Members of the platoon start dying randomly by someone the GF sent to silence everyone who has been on the ship. Also the BOTTLE Ship was a space station made for rebuilding habitats of other creatures, including Metroids. Samus made all of the Metroids extinct though by killing Mother Brain and destroying the Planet Zebes on her previous adventure. She still had residue from the last baby Metroid on her armor and the scientist from the tutorial harvested the residue and sent it to the BOTTLE Ship to regrow the Metroids in a controlled environment. So basically shit happened, they created a new mother brain in the form of an AI, called it MB, gave it a human body, then it took over the facility because it developed emotions and that can happen I guess. So blah blah blah she turns one of the Metroids into a Queen Metroid. Also you have to fight this thing later and if you don't know what you are doing have fun. One tip: they can be frozen. (Also I forgot to mention that when making the new Metroids the altered the genetic code of a lot of them to be resistant to cold which was their one weakness. Now you may be asking why you can freeze these. That answer is this Queen Metroid was a non-altered one so you can freeze these. They also needed a reason to give the name of the game Metroid so they added this random one as a plot device). So yeah back to the main story, Adam Malkovich detaches a sector of the ship that houses the area for Metroid breeding. But the way they made it detach from the ship was from the inside so they needed a reason to kill off a Dad character. So some more gubbins happen, you find out that this chick you met who called herself Madeline Bergman is actually MB, A.K.A. the one who started all of this. So you meet the real Madeline Bergman who tells you how MB was made and how herself is the lead director of the facility. So more gubbins happen, the GF show up, kill MB, and find out your friend Anthony who thought died earlier whilst fighting Ridley is not dead and escorts you out of the building. In the Epilogue of the game, the map shows you all the stuff you missed in the sectors so grab those and time for the final boss. His name is Phantoon and headly counts as a final boss. He looks like a giant space squid thing. So you kill him super easily, in like 3 minutes because his weak spot is always open. So then you go and find Adam's helmet, hear over the automated intercom that the ship has entered self-distruct and will blow in 5 minutes, in usual Metroid fasion. So you escape the ship with the helmet the end. Whew that sound like a handful. The story itself was in total, maybe 5 hours if you don't stop for upgrades. Really disappointed in the shortness of it. Still a good story nonetheless. But hey, Longer and more on depth the Breath of the Wild's main story.

Pros: I really enjoyed what we had of the story. It provided a nice experience and flowed smoothly. It kept me engaged to find what happened next. I also liked the frequency of when you got access to your abilities. You get them when you need them and keep them to use elsewhere. And when you just think that it might be the extent of what you can have, you get more. One last thing I liked was the cute little rabbit thing that follows you around. It really adds charm to the creatures the inhabit the station.

Cons: Like I said before, the story was way too short. They could've added another 1-2 hours based on the guy who started silencing Adam's platoon. There was some missed potential on a few different spots. A lot of the items/upgrades I had to look up how to get either because they didn't make sense or were too difficult to get to.

Final Thoughts: At the end of the day, the game wasn't bad at all. The chracters had well, character. It added to the story in the fact that I felt something when they died. It also added another level of suspense like they could die any minute. A lot of things in this just happen out of knowhere and is exciting to see what would happen next. So now the question is if I would recommend this game. That answer is yes. I would also recommend 100% this one as well. It feels nice to have that 100% on the map screen.

I'm going to give a couple reason on why I am going...
    - The community can be toxic, people hardly have anything good to say, either snarky or sarcastic in a non-humorous way.

I think I know what you mean. People acting in a "snarky or sarcastic in a non-humorous way" or, as I like to call it, acting like assholes, was something I wasn't totally prepared for when I was first playing xG. I heard a lot of shit over the mic on TGH, and it really used to piss me off. There were certain members who just irritated me with their ignorance and incompetence. There are even staff members who I've nearly sent PMs asking them to stop acting ignorant, culturally insensitive, or just super sarcastic while on duty on an xG server.
But you know what? I accepted that people will always act this way to some extent on the internet, and many of the people who used to bother me have already adjusted their behavior accordingly.

Like people are saying, if you ever feel like someone's going too far and outright harassing you, you can always talk to one of the many staff members.
There's always almost someone online, you know.

    - Peers who are apart of this community have repetitively attempted to troll me via steam, it actually gets aggravating.

Yeah this happens to me too. :P
This is honestly just completely your responsibility. When they send to messages via steam, it's all private. It's a personal conversation between two individuals, NOT an issue of public trolling on an xG server. You have power to just end the conversation. No one else has that power and therefore the responsibility of dealing with it.
If you don't like it, remove them from your friends list.

    - I haven't been playing that much anyways, only once a month.

WHAT? If you've only been playing once a month, why the fuck does any of this even matter?
Dude, what if you just had bad luck and ran into some trollers who just joined the server for the first time?
You're giving 9 reasons why you're leaving xG based on an incredibly narrow scope of gameplay.

    - This isn't 4chan and stop trying to act like it is. (If you play on here enough, you'll get what I mean.)

No... I don't get what you mean.
Feel free to explain what you mean, though.

    - Random players are getting harassed because the ignorant people, that can't find my profile somehow think that I am them.

What? Randoms on the server are being harassed by more experienced but "ignorant" players who think that they are somehow you?
That makes NO SENSE. I think you just misspoke here, I get it.
Go ahead and elaborate on this because I am thoroughly confused. :wut: wut

    - I can't even use my mic on here anymore without someone saying something.

Well, I should hope someone would respond to me when I ask for something over the mic rather than ignoring me.
But seriously, you probably mean that people immediately backlash at you when you say something, right?
Well, either they are trollers and you should just ignore them, OR they have a valid point and you are the one in the wrong.

Again, that's a personal problem unless they are actually harassing you in which case you can, again, talk to a staff member.

    - Another thing I forgot to list too, is that I am pretty much (maybe) quitting TF2 all together. I've been playing for 5 years straight and I still have the skill level of a toddler. I'm not sure if it's my mental endurance or my set up but either way, I suck. What's the point on trying to be good at something you can't. Maybe it's the fact that I main as spy or sniper. But either way, my reaction time and my k/d ratio is off the charts awful.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm a sniper main myself, and it can be either very frustrating or very satisfying. I'm not good either, I played TF2center twice and I doubt I'll ever be playing again. I learned just how bad I was even with nearly 1000 hours in the game.
But you know what? The whole point of xG's servers is that you don't have to be good to play them. You don't have to be good to have a fun time, either. That's kinda what I like about xG.
But yeah, I get sick of it too. I totally understand your choice if you do quit TF2.
    I'll quit too, some day.

That's all, wish you all luck if you choose to stay on here.

Well man, sorry to see you go on such negative emotions. :/
However, to be honest, most of your post and reasons for leaving xG/quitting TF2 sound a lot like you're just simply sick of the game and ready to move on. I've been there too, that's how I moved on to xG after over four years of doing everything possible in Minecraft.
If that's the case, go ahead and say so instead of listing off a bunch of reasons why you think xG sucks based on one-day-a-month gameplay.

And finally, if you feel like I made an assumption where I should't have, let me know.
I don't want to act like an asshole, either. :P

Anyways, good luck out there man. (y)
Not sure why I wrote all this crap, maybe it's because I could relate with some of what you said.

You would know of all people that the community can be toxic, any community can be toxic at times. I remember there's even been times where I would say to myself when you would speak "Wow he turned into a real dick."

    Anyway, here's your chat history:

    Ironic you throw "toxic" around.
    See you.
