  1. Agreed, it just seems like TTT is more.. User friendly, for a lack of better words. And if it's currently in production already, then all the better (excluding the couple of tweaks mentioned by Stickz, to which I say bravo for working on the Gmod Servers). Like Mega said, it [Dark RP] isn't all that community friendly if players are able to just play during odd hours and end up amassing a group of other players who literally have all of the power/status. At the same time though, I know a lot of players are looking for this sort of thing (more activity = more rewards which in turn leads to a higher satisfaction level which leads back to activity) so in the end it really depends on what demographic is being targeted. Dark RP is great in its own right, but I'm not sure we have a base of players who are looking for that sort of experience. It's safer to roll with a general TTT Server that is balanced than it is risking the resurrection of Dark RP, a game-type that can be incredibly unbalanced. Who knows, maybe down the road it'll be more appealing.
  2. @Bleed @Chrono @Snackbar @Lithium Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for temporarily giving me access to general Moderator commands on CS:GO for the duration of the xGmas event. It was great to see a large chunk of players to support it, though I am a little disheartened that I did not have the time to check daily for giving out prizes and the like. Hopefully next year this will be a much bigger event with a larger assortment of prizes. That all being said, I'm requesting that you remove my powers as they are no longer necessary. I'd also like to mention that I will be distributing the prizes to the winners of the Holiday Trivia some time this week (hopefully) so don't worry, you lucky group of winners have not been forgotten.

    12 Days Of Xgmas

Nearly forgot about this, but because Bonk received the most creating ratings (at the time of this post) he is the winner. @Bonk , message me on Steam with your ingame league name and what ward/icon skin you'd like to receive. Big thanks to those of you who participated in this event. That being said, I will also be distributing prizes for those of you who participated in the CS:GO XMAS Server event some time this week (hopefully). Cheers!
  4. +1 for CL. (will post/edit legit vouch later)
  5. I read your name as Arthman and got excited for a moment :( Anyways, looks like a solid game to try out. Always nice to see anyone considering other ways to eliminate Ts besides FR/LR ;)
  6. ^ This Isn't fair to individuals who aren't graced with deep(er) voices when they have just as much a right to be Warden or whatever. Besides, I've seen my fair share of 'squeakers' who out-perform other Wardens by a long shot and they do a damn good job. Should just keep it as the general rule of "mature use of mic", etc As for baiting, it's been a long-standing rule that hasn't really caused any problems. Not to mention that changing a "staple" rule that has been there since the beginning of time could cause confusion; imagine changing/altering the ever-so-popular "guncheck freeze" rule so that it can apply anywhere/everywhere. While obviously an extreme comparison, but what I'm getting at is that it's such a saturated rule that it would cause more harm than it would fix had it undergone a change.

  8. I didn't think xG could degenerate any further. I was mistaken. Welcome to the forums nonetheless m8 @The_Meme_Machine , enjoy your stay :coffee:
  9. Possibility of changing over the xmas Server to this? Holiday season is over anyways.
  10. Just so you know, you pretty much just said that you became inactive because the population died out, and in order to get population a Staff Member (IE. you at the time) just had to get on. Contradicting stuff there m8 :coffee:
  11. Either way, Staff should remember standard protocol when dealing with rule breakers; warn > gag/mute > kick > ban. I'm not saying anything was skipped, but jumping to 51 hours (albeit unclear whether this was intentional or not, it can't be ruled out that it was) against one player for a racial slur when the same phrase/slur was used by another player without them receiving a warning/mute/gag isn't justified. In other words, equal punishment for equal crimes with case-by-case exceptions. Though I strongly agree with Chrono; slurs just shouldn't be used at all, including those that are used to bypass other 'major' slurs (IE. Negroes > Niggers). Reason being that if exceptions are continuously made it just makes it that much more difficult to enforce. Moderating is already difficult without introducing more exceptions like "if minors are on" or "if it's just a variation of the word" which makes it that much more difficult to regulate. Another place for another time though, as this is a Abuse Report. Though I will point out that if the following is true, Armin needs to be reminded that Staff are expected to remain calm and collected when dealing with rule-breakers, not to single them out with extended ban times or unjustified punishments because they use a slur that the Staff Member takes personal offence to (I'm not saying it's alright to let a slur be used, just merely reminding Staff not to let their own emotions get the best of them): All in all, 51 hours seems over-the-top in my own personal opinion, especially since it is a mute/gag. Reason being that it's just outright too long and it does have the potential to interrupt the gameflow, assuming he plays on Jailbreak (IE. Unable to play Trivia games, etc). As previously mentioned, gags/mutes should only ever be left until the end of the round (or in this case with TF2 an hour at the most or whatever the Higher-Up(s) deems fit; a sub-rule should be made covering this). If the user continues to break the rules, then the next step would be to kick/ban them from the Server for a predetermined amount of time. Sorry for the long post, but there's one more thing I'd like to mention: I'm not here to call Armin a bad Staff Member or anything of the sort; I would be saying the same thing were it anyone else. I'm just here to suggest ways of improvement and to give my personal opinion on the whole matter. As with every other post I make, none of this should be taken personally. TL;DR (now in new and improved bullet form!) Even if he was previously warned for past actions, 51 hours is too long an amount of time to remain muted/gagged; he should be unmuted/ungagged, or his friend and him should share the same reduced time for use of racial slurs. Racial slurs should not be tolerated in any shape or form (this includes "negro" or anything else that may be offensive. It's a PG13 Server) If he is being punished for racial slurs of that magnitude, then anyone else using the same slurs should receive equal warning/punishment A sub-rule for muting/gagging should be made specifically for TF2 since some of the Servers do not operate on 'rounds' Contents of this post should not be taken personally, it is all based on opinion and what we have set in place as rules
  12. If a player is going to be punished for using a racial slur, then any other player who uses that same racial slur should be treated the same way. That being said, I'm more concerned as to why someone is being muted/gagged for 51 hours. Now, I don't know if this is just a TF2 specific thing, but assuming it isn't: Mutes/gags of any kind should only ever last until the end of the round, assuming the player was issued a warning before-hand. If they persist, then the punishment is escalated to a kick. After that, it becomes a Server ban for a minimum of a day (depending on the severity and nature of the rules being broken) but typically should only last an hour or two. At no time should a mute/gag be given for predetermined amounts of time (IE. 51 hours), provided this isn't a TF2 Division specific rule (which conflicts with our general Server Admin Handbook). Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a gross misuse of the command.

    12 Days Of Xgmas

Welp, seeing as how all of the ratings were equally distributed (not including my post) I'm going to extend the deadline of this until the end of this week. Keep in mind that the icon/ward skin can be anything of your choice (not including bundles), including this cute bugger: To recap, the song that receives the most "creative" ratings by the end of this week will win an icon/ward skin of their choice on League of Legends. Singing your version and sharing it with us gets you a Mystery Chest (if you win) PLUS a icon/ward skin of your choice just for singing. That's right, just by singing and sharing your version for us you will receive an icon/ward of your choice regardless of getting enough ratings. Be warned though, only a maximum of three participants can claim this prize so act now.
  15. Best pepper your anguses for the Crittlesticks.
  16. Welcome to XenoGamers [namely its forums] m8. As you may already know, our major Game Divisions include Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Nuclear Dawn but xG is typically open to other potential Divisions and what-not, provided there is a general interest from a large group of Members. Suggestions and feedback are always appreciated as well ;) That all being said, hope you enjoy your stay!
  17. It's really for those who enjoy roleplaying; it's simple once you get the hang of it. Just play on the Red side, and do/follow whatever the "Warden" on the Blue side says. Warden says jump, Reds jump, and so on. After you get the basics down, then it's just a matter of learning the terminology like "baiting" or "freekilling" and looking at the indepth stuff if you plan on trying the Blue side.
  18. Take it easy! Here's to hoping you overcome all of life's shitty obstacles. Be sure to visit some time though :)

  21. With this addition, it may very well effectively make Members feel less exclusive on Forums; more-so than they may already feel. At the end of the day, a Member really only has the ability to 'vouch' for those who wish to have a stronger influence in the clan/community than an xG-Representative. Take that away, and there will literally be nothing special about being a Member aside from having the ability to apply for a Staff Position. Also, as you previously mentioned, this'll also require Members who are heavily unbiased since they'll have the power to grant or deny Membership which is incredibly difficult to find around here. The role in itself is a very powerful responsibility to have as well. Annihilating the need to actively seek the approval of others may also diminish the whole reason behind it; making acquaintances or friends with Members of XenoGamers. Without that, they won't feel the need to approach anyone and may therefore be accepted into an otherwise unfamiliar and unfriendly clan. I see the whole central idea around this, making the whole Membership process cleaner and more efficient, but I just can't see the pros outweighing the cons for this particular suggestion. Mind you, I've only brought up "what if" claims but they are sound and are likely to happen should those changes be made. Rather than introducing a new system, I would suggest a revision of our current guidelines for Membership. As of right now, there are a lot of things wrong with it (the fact that we have segregated #s of vouches required for each Division is messy and clunky is just one of them) and it would be much easier to build on what we already have going for us. By all means it won't be something that would be done over night. It will require proper discussion, compromises and the like from all of the Higher-Ups (including the CLs) to reach an agreement. That being said, it will also require some effort from Members. It's getting dragged out more than it needs to be, but it's still very relevant that Members review their vouches before they post them. If change is to be had, then the Players/Members/HigherUps have to be just as responsible to assist and support those changes. TL;DR - Pros outweigh the cons; this would just be an addition to cover people's asses who have a responsibility to properly do what they signed up for in the positions they are in whether that be Member or Staff, which is not the way to go about things.
