The consensus has been that the sprays rule would apply to anything that allows a user to apply a custom image to something; this would include normal sprays, the objector, select cosmetics, and any other means of applying a picture to something.

As @virr mentioned we have a discussion about the current spray rules and when we finalize that we will also make it explicitly stated that these alternative methods of showing pictures are also subject to the same rules as sprays.

If you check the times on both you will see you had an hour silence and after only about 7 minutes you were able to talk again.

Also it is a day ban, you can wait it out thinking about how you shouldn't ignore someone when they ask you to not burp loudly on the mic repeatadly and then circumvent the resulting mute.

+1 for unban based on the failure to follow procedure, but your account is your responsibility and we have no effective way of knowing if it is you or someone else behind your name.

In the future, it would be prudent to watch who you give access to your account to avoid similar situations.

If we don't unban him I would say at very least shorten the ban to a week as that and the month ban were left out of the process in the first place.

I've heard from a couple of staff members that the rule regarding sprays is hard to enforce or is being enforced differently depending on who is online at the time. Do you think the rule is in need of a bit of a touch-up or is it fine as it is?

 

While we're at it, I think it is time we update the ingame Motd to better reflect the ones found on forums.

The spray rule as seen in the TF2 general motd thread:

Sprays cannot contain nudity or derogatory content. This includes any spray that depicts sexual content or anything else that may be deemed inappropriate by Staff.

I think part of the sprays being enforced differently is based on what each staff member view as inappropriate. In particular I find the sexual content line being a main issue as different people have different standards for what qualifies. Honestly we could just reduce the rule to just the first line wherein only directly showing the reproductive organ(s) and obviously offensive & derogatory material would be censored. That would theoretically simplify what the criteria for a bad spray is and reduce the confusion between staff members. Naturally there will be cases where a spray or such is borderline and it can be difficult to spot whatever might be the issue, though those are quite rare in my experience.

As for MOTDs, I thought they already linked to the forum pages relevant to that server. Or am I just being stupid and not knowing what you are talking about?

Umm, not really ban worthy, but give this man a warning and a huntsman.

For the record as a mantreads user, fuck nofall. The mantreads deal falldamage and are thus completely negated. Also cratering people is a thing.

Not a huge problem, but it is super annoying when you are trying to humiliate a fool and they have it turned on...

On a more serious note, getting rid of P2W things is good. A few of the plugins looks pretty fun/cool.

When you remember that general trade is a thing... +1 for changing it.

But yeah, I have tried this a couple times on GMod and liked it, so I would be down for having it around.

Yeah, a 4 day ban seems appropriate for how he handles himself.

For the record I have been somewhat inactive for a few reasons including but not limited to: my bro's graduation, internet provider unreliability, being sick as fuck, and AP tests.

I have seen Dethman a little bit recently, but not as much as other staff to be sure. Shadower I haven't seen on in a while tho.

Well in TF2 I main a pretty salty demomain.

When "friends" force me to play OW I usually end up playing Mercy, so I am a Mercy main I guess? Iunno I prefer to play Sombra or Junkrat, but usually I don't get the luxury.

And Paladins? uhhh never actually looked at it. Is it any good?

As for nitnat, amy, sora, and bliz I don't anything other to say than yes.

Though Donakonda seems a bit unfit for the position. Besides him driving me crazy, I can't recall anything that gives me confidence that he would be a good pick for mod. (aside from trying to be really friendly)

I would be ok with giving Spoopy and Thunder probationary mod, lest something incriminating surfaces.

That is correct, membership is indeed revoked upon permanent bans as far as I am aware.

I might prefer Trebuchet as a font, but it requires no donation or camera. Just a movie and a 2 page review of the movie.

I agree with @virr that we could just get rid of the age restrictions on applying for mod in the first place since there are a fair few younger people who act far more maturely than older individuals. If we (or other members who comment on it) know somebody is going to act like an idiot then we can just not promote them in the first place.

Though, lowering it to 14 is cool too...
