  1. After reviewing the provided demos, I'll have to go with a +1 for unban. Aside from maf being his normal self on an alt for whatever reasons he may have, I don't really see any proof of actual illegitimate play.

spectator at its finest.. lags a lot, especially around tick 16000 where it was an instinctive action to check the corner of the hallway..

nothing in here is suspicious, to me, at least, other than the crappy tickrate that spectator runs on.

Spectator mode runs the same as being on a team, it is demos that are weird looking. As far as I am aware they record the serverside version of events which is great for looking at projectiles, but hitscan is done clientside and thus looks really janky in demos.

Also I think @Elcark@Vexx and @Vargas have yet to give input.

Easy thing-  We should "normalize" how rtv activates, or more specifically make the time it takes before people can rtv and the percentage of players required to have the vote pass (I've been told it varies drastically between some servers) the same on each server. I'm not sure what it is set to for must, but would personally recommend just having it be 5 minutes just like on tgh.

Long story short, when I was setting up the new rtv stuff for kypari's suggested timer (which I have liked more than I thought I would :3), I tried doing a couple of cvar things to make life better. But it didn't actually change the setting (it acknowledged being changed, but didn't actually update ? ). I'll have another look at it and see if I was being a dum again.

    2 hours ago, Elcark said:

Less easy thing- We need to have higher requirements for us higher ups. There's nothing that can really be changed directly, but current mindsets seem to be no different then for all other staff in so long as you get 14 hours every two weeks you're golden. Not only do I think lackluster activity on the forums is what caused me to have so much distress with how things were going in the first place, but I strongly believe we should be striving to do more the a minimum in any way to set a proper example for everyone else. Scraping by at "just enough" or worse isn't good enough in my eyes at all. I'm not trying to suggest anything too drastic which is why i'm not making any solid or specific suggestions, but it is something I think needs addressing.

I agree with the sentiment, we are supposed to be caring for the TF2 division, not avoiding it as much as we are allowed to. I know I might not be perfect when it comes to the forums or discord, but when people commonly joke about any of the higher ups not existing or being a stranger to their own community there is most definitely a problem to be addressed in regard to their responsibility to that community.
We are, after all, supposed to be role models...

    Mrnutty12 as always.

Also, sourcebans is loaded properly on it. Got a bit hung up on calladmin not functioning properly last I checked.
And map handler, what do you mean by that? Because I already have rtv set up on it if that is what you mean.

Which leaves ff2/playpoints.  We have our three apparent options starting with war3 which Im even more against after looking over the details. With one race/class being able to achieve 25% damage done back as health, 25% faster movement speed, and 50% lower gravity it seems just a tad bit overpowered on just one player. Nutty did mention possibly removing the leveling/experience system which would at least lower these numbers a bit, but looking at a lot of these powers the whole plugin just isn't even made for ff2 (most talking about their use against multiple enemies and some only having effect after an enemy is killed). All of it just seems way too overkill for something that is supposed to be a sidegrade to the boss fights of the server.

Customweapons3 seems like it could be the best replacement of having cool and unique uses, but would definitely be the hardest to get set up since you'd need to build any options from scratch.

Tf2items would probably in contrast be the easiest option since we already have a plugin that can be used with some adjustments according to bone and the setup for the attributes would be easy to add or adjust as needed.

Once again, nerfing the stats of whatever races in the war3 thing should be fairly simple. As for certain abilities not not usable in ff2, there is the whole custom races thing that let us mix and match what works and what does not.

I really dislike custom weapons mostly because it feels clunky to use (for me at least) and a lot of the ideas brought forward for new weapons are either not very interesting or not fun to fight/use, and when we already have a bunch of weapons nobody uses in ff2 anyways I think just editing the attributes of said items would be fine.

Also need to discuss custom titles with how they work, currently people can pay $5 and basically get infinite titles as all they need to do is have it changed my someone with access to hub. I would like to propose we allow infinite changes on custom hub titles for 48 hours, and after that they must buy another title if they want another.

@virr yelled at me when I altered people's titles in the past with the exact same reason you just gave. Though I think he said 24 hours and not 48...

    also didn't see elcark's post ?

@Lithium has made it so every new player starts with 250 credits on csgo, and has also given all current games 250 as well. Would this be something you guys would be interested in? Keep in mind that its a lot easier to get credits in tf2 compared to csgo.

I mean, we could, I just don't see it mattering much, 250 credits is a really small amount for most things you can get with credits.

    7 hours ago, virr said:

Secondly, how would you guys suggest handling donator powers on the objective server? I could see us just not adding them and just going with hub, but im open to ideas from you guys. Let me know pls.

I mean, the rules should not change in theory, we don't let donators abuse commands for an advantage normally, and the objective server should be no different in that respect.

  9. I mean, plenty of members don't even play on the servers...
Taking a break is perfectly fine. The only need to step down would be if you are staff for whatever div you want to take a break from, which afaik you are not.

One thing I left aside, mostly because I want to work on my own opinion for ff2 before being too rash about it.

Has there been a significant amount of this? @mrnutty12 might know peoples opinions more but the only single person I've seen with this complaint was lan, who has such a hate boner for any alt game modes that he becomes entirely unreasonable in his opinions of them and just complains about anything. Sure everyone's opinions matter, but his really shouldn't when he is such an incredibly extreme and rare outlier.

Can confirm, Lan is the only person I see who complains about hale winrates in general. Most people have issues with individual bosses when complaining about something, and even then they are usually suggesting how to fix the problem and refining ideas with other people who enjoy the mode.

Really there's nothing wrong with being neutral or not strongly inclined either way for someone simply because you don't know them well enough, BUT building on that, that creates the point we ought to try and get ourselves a clearer idea on them through the means virr explained.

I mean like actually leaving a clear indicator as to which way I am leaning, not the degree to which I lean...
Also if we could get the +1 and -1 things back I would be very happy, it just isn't the same without the bright green or red things. ?

Why are we adding bhop before discussing it @mrnutty??

    -Bhop on Deathrun

While this can just be left as is cause I really don't believe either Vexx or Vargas are going to be opposed to it, if either of you are now is the time to state it (Mentioning it above was more about the principal of coming to a decision first then this topic in particular).

    Because the vote got 70%...

    8 hours ago, Elcark said:

    -Server messages for threads/votes

I believe Nutty and I are in favor of this, Vexx is opposed, no opinion yet from Vargas.

Yep. If we do these though, a little reminder to remove the relevant chat stuff when needed would be appreciated!

    -Playpoints

Last but not least, the one that might take the longest to sort out. I am still against war3, though I just want to research the option a bit more before really making a more solid decision. Otherwise, I am leaning towards just tf2 items/tf2 attributes simply as a more "safe" option, although possibly boring.

I'd like to at least try out war3, I should be able to rebalance whatever perks are that problematic when needed.
Of course, I can edit weapons with the tf2 attributes stuff though it is a bit less exciting of an option. it is probably way easier to do.

I feel like the least you can do as a higher up is ask around a little bit, look at bans, gameME, forums and try to gather an opinion on someone if you arent sure. As we saw the last promo/demo, when people just leave empty statements and never communicate with eachother or discuss promo/demo in the slightest we get these weird p/d's because i have to do some insane reading inbetween the lines to figure out what exactly you guys want and it feels horrible to me trying to decipher what exactly you guys are saying, not to mention how discussion never starts until someone actually prods everyone else about it. It would also be really nice if at the end of the week you guys could also put together a small little summary or actually come to a conclusion on what to post. Promo/demos shouldnt be guesswork, which is feels like at the moment.

I do try to at least give a solid +1 or -1 with what I say in promo/demo talk. Sorry if I missed a few. ?
With regards to starting discussion, I like to wait until weekends because it gives us the most time to look at potential promos. I just have a wonky weekend schedule that dictates I really have to wait until very late Saturday night or Sunday evening to even look at the forums. Usually by that point someone else has started the talking. ?
However, yes I suppose I could do better sometimes about vouching for people I don't know so well.

Oh yeah, a few staff have brought up that mods should get noclip since it helps out a lot in dealing with naughty people. I don't think it is particularly necessary for mods to have, but I think it is worth talking about. Thoughts?

I'll give cliff notes below for what we said, it was a month or so ago but won't be hard to just look at previous pages. Otherwise, in terms of them giving an unfair advantage perhaps we could do without the points entirely and just make the upgrades free to purchase and remove?

-Simply increase the number of points earned per round as well as a bonus for surviving/winning a round like vargas suggested.

-Give everyone a starting sum of points, around 10,000 or so, so they can jump right into the fun of using upgrades that right now are seemingly more exclusive to people who were there to receive points for free.

-Reset everyones playpoints to even out those who have straight up millions from the many times the add command has been used by staff.

Regardless of the proposed alternate plugins to change playpoints to (personally I favor the wc3 alternative), I tried increasing points earned or decreasing the points it takes to get stuff to no avail (turns out the config files does not like to change that stuff).
Giving free points to people would have been redundant if using the config file for the plugin actually worked in changing stuff for me. Also didn't want to nuke everyone's points until that got sorted.
Honestly it was on my list to check the code for when rebalancing some of the playpoints stuff. With the suggestions to replace playpoints, I figured it would be better to see where that went and not waste a bunch of time fixing that stuff just to replace it immediately.

I've had some ideas for details but just have forgotten mostly over time. Off the top of my head just to throw concepts out, use maps for Control points, king of the hill, and probably payload, start out with a number of stock maps but no reason not to add custom ones as well (the megaman map was brought up), and one more random different concept I ran by nutty was to have a forced team scramble every couple of rounds to try and keep things from being stacked too often.

I had been meaning to ask @virr for some help with stuff like getting calladmin functioning before going through all of our plugins and porting them over. Just got a bit sidetracked because of ff2 stuff and not really many people pushing for it. As far as maps go for that server though, I'd prefer to keep them close to stock themes as much as possible. Not that I don't enjoy the megaman map, but it is very much at odd with the rest of the maps that are on the server artistically speaking.

    More fuel for the fire.

Considering how it was brought up in the recent ban thread, we should probably give a more direct response for extended mutes. I was thinking I could just make an open notification about treating them exactly as I described in staff chat (I can go dig it up if anyone doesn't know what i'm talking about) and possibly add a small smidget in the staff manual about it as well. That is assuming no one wants to argue the way we should go about them (nutty seemed to be very apposed to it when I brought it up way back in the private discord chat) or if we possibly decide they shouldn't be used at all.

My philosophy with extended mutes has been to issue them instead of bans since the problem is solved by revoking their chat privileges. If we want to lay out specifically when should a ban be issued, or should they always be issued in lieu of mutes over, say a day then making note in the handbook (and probably an announcement in discord for tf2 staff) should happen for sure.

Last thing for now is adding bhop to deathrun

. Though I was apposed to the idea I do think we should probably go through with testing it out regardless since more people did want it. Bone's plugin could just be edited or removed latter if needed.

I'd be down to add it, but I thought @virr wanted to find a different bhop plugin because as I recall, the surf one spams up really long error logs.

  17. The guy in the provided demo is quite clearly hacking, and unfortunately you share an ip with the fellow.
While I agree with kypari that we have never had any issues with you around on the server, the evidence does seem to point to the banned account being an alt of yours.

    @Elcark @Vexx @Vargas Thoughts?

Also @Koubza if you want to be unbanned for sure, don't forget that this is still an option...

  18. I don't think vac understood me correctly. Sourcesleuth banned you for a duplicate account (aka trying to evade bans with a different steam account), and it triggered here because someone else with your IP has been banned.

Anyhow @Caleb956 banned the account with the same IP as you for hacking it seems. The banned account with the same IP should be included in the picture so @Caleb956 can provide us with a demo.

    msay I am indifferent towards.

rtv timer I have been waiting until I don't have college classes n such going on to deal with (on break now so probably soon™). I tried putting it in previously but it didn't function at all, so I need to figure that one out. I was being dumb before, should be implemented now. (EDIT: thread to plugin for reference: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=156974?t=156974)

the !proj command I am also indifferent towards. Though yes, we can disable usage of specific models for specific weapons.
