Solution is to remove spawn protection

If we were to do this, more people would most likely keep complaining about dying and being spawncamped, which would make staff have to punish more people for complaining of it.

Making staff do more work is no issue since it's literally just a warn -> gag/mute. The real issue is the fact that spawn camping is a large issue on some maps which result in multiple players leaving the server in frustration. I've seen us go from a full server to 5 people just as a result from a hard clocktown spawncamp. Having spawn protection gives that extra push when players are suffering from a spawncamp, which keeps the server populated.

I would love to see a visual indication to spawn protection.

  3. There's only 4 days left (including today) until we wrap things up! If anyone would like to make any final donations, or have claimed they have made a donation but have not sent their receipt, now is the time to start doing so!

    Thank you everyone!

  4. It has come to my attention that there are some issues with the TF2's Division's way of dealing with people who avoid their ban. Yesterday, on Trade Gaming History, @mrnutty12, I and a few admins were dealing with someone who came on with 5 alt accounts after being banned from their main for mass trolling (chat spam, admin impersonation, mic spam, slurring, honestly you name it and he did it). As a result of his first account being banned for a week, he came on his next account and after some confusion regarding the rules, he was banned for a month (after consulting with nutty, who was following the exact written rule and wanted to ban for a week, month if absolutely necessary). Then 3rd account, perm. This lasted approximately half an hour of going through his accounts, confusion and extending all of his bans after he was permed.

The way the TF2 avoiding bans rule works is that if you come on an alt account to avoid ban, you are banned for the SAME amount of time as your main account. Whilst not stated in the rules list, it was stated by Nutty in admin chat that if they break the same rules, you go to the next ban level.

So if someone were to get banned for mass trollling for 1 hour, then if he came onto an alt he would be banned for a day. Next account: 1 week. 4th account: 1 month. Only on his FIFTH account will all of his accounts be banned permanently.

After being discussed with multiple staff members, including some from CS, in the staff discord chat it has been made clear that we all feel as though it should be an instant permanent ban if you attempt to avoid your ban by using alt accounts. We all feel as though people who have the audacity to attempt to cause more trouble on our servers by avoiding their ban and using an alt account should be permanently banned. People will never come on alt accounts when their original isn't permed with good intentions.

According to @Bonk, permanent bans are issued to those using alt accounts to avoid bans in the CS:GO Division, so why don't we use that in TF2? I would like to propose that we change Rule 16 to the following:

"If someone uses an alt account in order to avoid their punishment (comms or server), permanently ban all accounts owned by the player."

As for the second: You have to admit a certain level of intrigue, when reading this. What's happening there? What's the missing pieces? Is this really happening? Why would anyone post anything this insane sounding?

keeping my -1 for insanity sorry bud

I would never do anything to hurt Color. I have disclosed all the information, I'm comfortable to put on this website, about my relationship to Colorparty.
And I see, why being creepy may reflect negatively on the reputation of xG. But as far, as I can tell, I'm not toxic, I'm always trying to be as polite as possible, even when speaking to people with extremely opposing views... and who doesn't love creepy stuff from time to time?

So you're in a relationship with colorparty? Boyfriend and girlfriend?

Also I don't like people putting on other people's profiles: "I want to smell your hair" lol

This is taken way out of context and I don't see, how it should impact the decisionmaking in my approval.
I have not done anything unlawful.

I fail to see any context to be honest, mate. It's a post on a profile that hasn't been used for years now, so I just want some context and an explanation, should your actions be justified

I don't know a single person who would oppose this, so there's no reason not to
If people actually start complaining for whatever reason then we just revert it, simple

We have to do a vote for this kind of thing so the community is more involved. If we start changing things which we may think is a no brainer, but then public get angry that we haven't consulted with them first, it's on us.

Not to mention that it's rarely a 100% vote when the "enable cap" vote is made. Regardless of whether a person answering "no" is an accident or not, it's always better to involve the community and see what they think about the idea.

    @Tekage

Sorry, I know what I wrote was confusing.

The rule book seemingly contradicts itself regarding if a vote is needed to become a boss, or just to attack people as a boss. You see?

!vote (Toggles a vote in the servers. Necessary for spawning and becoming bosses)

"[becoming] the HHHH and killing people with it".

Turning into bosses (!bemerasmus @me !behhh !bedeflector)
    • Don't rebel or attack people while using these unless you go through a vote

A main concern would be the fact that people as some bosses can accidentally put the players into the spook stun. Though I do see what you mean, this needs to be edited into more detail to avoid confusion.

  11. Every single time we go to the megaman map, we do a vote to enable the cap. This is because there are many different variants of the map which can typically be accessed only by finishing each round (unless you just wanna be complicated).

By enabling the cap permanently (meaning going to this map will instantly enable the cap and each round), we open up much larger sections of the map which provides fresh gameplay and let's face it: 99% of the time the vote will pass to enable the cap.

    Thoughts?

But what I hear the most when people go into the map is that others can't load it, I used to be able to not load it, but I found that if you uninstall the map from the Team fortress folder, and join the server when its on the map, it will load it, well at least that's how I got it to fix.

You shouldn't really have to go that extra mile in the first place. Having to do something extra to get a map to work is seriously going to put off potential new players and overall it's not worth it.

I would have the same opinion if it were one of the more popular maps.

  14. Honestly, a lot of people would say it's too soon from your unban to get staff. It makes a lot of sense, but the important thing is that we're now aware that you want staff.

If you don't get staff from this, we'll be keeping an eye out to see if you really go that extra mile and you'll get staff in no time. You're on the right track as we've all seen a massive improvement over this past (just over) a month.

Probationary mod is something we generally try to avoid otherwise I'd suggest that.

    Good luck regardless, dude!

Thank you both @Thorax_! Just a heads up, this is no longer a raffle as a result of popular demand to donate the raffle prize money to the charity instead, meaning that there has been an extra $120 donated ?

  16. Semper is a good lad who I know would do a great job. My only concern is how long they'll stay staff, especially considering what has been explained in this post.

I see no harm in promoting them; even if they decide it's not for them after a week +1
