Although I haven't met anyone that has actually abused this command nor have I did it myself, I think this will be a good idea. It is a lot more productive then just straight out banning the offender, because they just might be angry. In my opinion there should be a warning text in red about this.

Nononono, we don't ban people for spamming the sm_calladmin command, we ban them for intentionally using the plugin for no reason at all.
We [staff] get a notification everytime someone uses the command through a steam bot.

Some staff members actually stop doing what they're doing (i.e homework, playing other games etc.) and it's more than awfully annoying when you join to see that someone was just like "XD funi plugin let me see what it does :O".
Before you actually use the command, it gives you an explicit message that says abusing calladmin will result in a punishment:

Not only is banning people for abusing that feature after being given an explicit warning more than a legit reason, silencing seems too lenient to me. Keep in mind: I am not saying people who use the calladmin feature for a purpose should be banned, just if they do it for no reason at all.

I expect our staff to use common sense to determine whether it actually had a [legit] reason, which includes the scenerios you've mentioned, or not.
That being said I'm personally against the idea of changing our system.

I noticed a long while back. I didn't bring it up because I really don't care for weapon colours because they're really ugly and no one ever used them anyway. The fact of the matter is that it was removed and we don't know why.

I remember joining the tf2 surf and it being barely anyone on but like 5-7 people. First person I made friends friended me because he thought I was funny and wanted to be friends. Hes no longer my friend because our relationship was like oil and water (First time joining was around the middle of February). I always remembered there being like no staff on so I obv would break the rules (not saying which ones lmao) and always used to see this god tier surfer on called Vacindak (coolest d00d on the server still). Couple months pass and its Summer break and there are more and more people. This is when I actually decide to socialize with everyone and make friends with people on there. During that summer we had this squad going on comprised with (these are the people I remember) Lemonvolt,Samualo,Vacindak,Lifeless,i love crippling depression,sex party (currently Plague),Tocsik (was named Grimm at the time),Grandpa Wolz,SupremePatriot,and Mr.Nutty12 . I remember it being super lit during that summer and I was known for being super edgy at the time but for some reason the server still liked me for it and I was persuaded by Vacindak to make a member app which was around Aug 21. Sadly some of the people I mentioned aren't active on the server anymore. There a chunk where new people come in but thats too much to type. I've been through so much with this community (whether it being fun or through arguments I still loved this place) and has been probably the longest i've been with a community/clan in tf2 (I used to play gmod before this but I quit that shit cus it was getting tiring).

This is on the map to do, it would have to be made within the hammer file for the map, and then recompiled and re-downloaded by everyone. It cannot be coded in by the server and we would have to find every mapmaker to add this in for us due to this problem. I don't think I have to explain how hard it would be to get in contact with the mapmakers, let alone get them to edit fairly old and considered finished projects. Basically, it is effectively impossible to do unless someone feels like jumping through lots of loops to add a pretty minor fix.
 
On other news, has anyone else not been hearing the music on JB recently?

I asked @Nomulous to make a plugin that restricts your eternal reward, he never responded.
I'm pretty sure @Rejects knows how to change the weapons attributes, which would work too.

Can one of the tf2 DL's think about removing the Your Eternal Reward knife for spy for the surf server please. When spy's spawn kill its hard to find out who it is that's doing it since it won't show up in the console so you have to either A: /grab them B: Kill them before they escape C: Ask the victims who got spawn killed (Which most of the time they're afk which is really annoying).

So as I'm sure all of you know I've been inactive as fuck and I think it is about time I say why

So, I live in a shitty little village in the middle of fucking nowhere with my mother in a decent house. My mother had to work 2 jobs to help us to keep the house, pay gas/electricty/internet etc... I did what I could to help as well. Now, my mother's second job was a bartender at a local Masonic Lodge, it paid good money, was fun, plenty of friends and member of the lodge from around the village to talk to and have drinks with. Then the Lodge got a new Owner the fucking asshole thought that the "social" side of the lodge was taking over and decided to make the lodge members only disallowing anyone from the general public to enter and fired all the barstaff including my mother meaning she had to rely on money coming from her main job : managing the kitchen of the local primary school, which was an extremely low paying job but she enjoyed it. So cue our old ISP cutting me off and having to rely on my close friends internet connection to try and keep up with things happening, Obviously I couldn't and I am extremely sorry @Bello for having to do things for me.
 
Now, Back in August I managed to secure a place in a Higher National Degree course in Computing Software Development and am still studying it right now. I then applied for Student Loans to try and help my mother pay for gas/electricity and get an internet connection again.
 
So Back in approx 10 - 12th November I sent out for Sky Broadband Unlimited to get back online.
 
I received the Sky Hub on 24th November which came in a fancy little box, the Hub is like a weird finnicky plastic gloss black box. The engineer visit to actually install the phone line was on 1st December, it went by smoothly, all the wires were there, none were broken so all good. Then he went to test the wires, They were ALL dead, no signal coming through at all, so he went outside to check the telephone pole connecting to my house, Big fucking Giant red D on it, for dangerous, meaning it's unsafe for a signal to be sent through. Engineer says that the wires on the pole would need to be rewired, some guys will come to do it tomorrow, "YOU DONT HAVE TO BE IN THE HOUSE". Cue the next day, I get a message from sky saying an engineer was unable to access the house to install the phone line, WHICH IS ALREADY INSTALLED. So the fucking engineers didnt fucking bother to fix the telephone pole when they saw I wasnt in my home despite not needing to be there. So I call up sky saying so and all they fucking say is they have to reschedule and "IF YOU ARENT IN THE NEXT TIME YOU WILL BE CHARGED" shit. The earliest reschedule they had that I would have been in my home was another week, 8th December, yesterday. The engineer came round walked in and saw that the line was installed and said "OH, THAT'S INSTALLED", The fucking person at sky I called up didnt say they had to fix the telephone pole so the engineer was unprepared. He then went outside, checked the pole, talked on the phone for about an hour and told me that it may be another TWO FUCKING WEEKS before it is fixed...

It's your soon ex-TF2 DM coming at you with some news! I'm going to be stepping down from the position of DM. I'll just fall down to the rank of member.
If you're not aware (and care about it), I currently don't have the time to play the game that often, nor can I really browse the forums enough to really see the questions of users, member submissions, etc.
Rather than take a slot and do nothing, I'd rather have someone else be promoted who has the time to give xG a hand.
 
I climbed up as far as I have with the intentions to make the TF2 division a better place. Although, Bello has essentially already done a lot and has beaten me too that. The TF2 division is honestly in a pretty solid state, and I feel comfortable that it will stay that way (even with minor hiccups every now and then).
 
I'll still play the servers obviously and browse the forums when I can. Just not enough to keep up with the quota staff are expected to maintain. After the Holiday season is done with, maybe I'll be back and try to get back into the groove.
 
My friend list on Steam will be purged. I'm only going to keep the people xG that I've really come to know (and you know who you are).

Long story short: My Amaranthine Antlers have been scammed from me. They're gone. I fell victim to the most elaborate online scam I have ever seen.

bargain.tf is a scam site. The owner of the site has made off with over $7k in hats so far. Don't even think about using them for any sort of TF2 things.

Safe to say I'm done with TF2 after this. Over three years of uptrading gone completely. And with it, my soul and desire to play.
 
Whoever the dude was that made off with my hat, I hope he sells it for a good amount and can actually use the money. It was just going to go to making my kids' Christmas better, is all. Maybe he NEEDS the cash. I dunno.

The admin menu has tools to avoid banning the wrong person. I don't really see a need for restricting player name changes.
