james8470 reacted to Aegean in Forum Updates - Suggestions
Honestly something like that can be posted in General every once in a while, but we can always discuss if we think we need an off topic section

Maybe add an option to notify users when we change their ranks on forums? And then simply close the thread with no message?

Neutral for now. Seems like a good person now but some of the time when I get on he tries to troll as much as possible and that doesnt really help my view of him

I'm neutral since I've only seen you a couple times, but we've had a rule/very strong suggestion in the past that staff have mics. I'm of the opinion that it's super useful to be able to communicate quickly without typing, but I'm not sure it's still a requirement. Either way, good luck!

-1 All I had to do was look at this and his profile to determine the type of person he is. These are the type of people to make xG look bad so I dont want him being member at all.

It may only be a 1 day ban. But I don't think it should be a ban to begin with. I was banned for "Punishment Evasion - Comment on Profile" Though i dont feel commenting on a profile is evading a punishment as i am not talking in game. Therefor there is not punishment tot be evaded. The punishment was to keep me from talking on the server and i have in no way evaded that. -

You aren’t getting the point. You continued to talk about the topic I told you not to. Doesn’t matter where you did it, you still did it.
The topic was based on you arguing with me (a staff member) about your mute. It was justified. I said for the discussion to be ended. You decided to be a wise-guy and comment on my profile continuing the argument.
Please take a look at the rule below.
Any unspoken loopholes in any of these rules are up to the discretion of staff members, if you try to use loopholes intentionally, you can be punished.
Using my profile as a communication point is a loophole.

Thank you so much for this, Patriot!
I thought this idea would go straight to the graveyard, but you actually did it!
Just wondering, which program did you use to design them?

It even plays a cute little "ding" to when you run the command :3
I mean, little things like this many of xG's members could do!
I know it takes a little bit of extra work on the Admins part, but why not just post the config files online somewhere, then allow the community to edit them? An Admin could then pick the one with the best configuration.
This could save a LOT of time on configuration, where MANY of the problems (Spooks tells me) originate from.
Believe me, I ran a Minecraft server for two years and my biggest folly was not accepting help from the community because I was worried about them abusing powers (and rightfully so, actually). But something like this would allow xG to work on improving the server as a community, without any risk of abusing any kind of powers because there are none to be abused.
Just an idea.
Going to talk to Rhododendron first, I will discuss with you and the other interested members about minecraft via forums or teamspeak later this week.

if the current staff are having trouble with finding the time to maintain the server, it would probably be wise to appoint new staff to help out.
wyverness has had experience as staff on a minecraft server and so have I several years ago when an old friend owned a server and had me adding and configuring plugins server side.
The main population of the Minecraft server atm is primarily myself, vector, wyverness, bonfire, kypari and a few others and we have been playing regularly and we all agree new staff are needed to keep the server in an acceptable condition for ourselves and newcomers.

james8470 got a reaction from Ms.Spooks in Status Of Minecraft
I actually joined the server myself, and only Spooks was online.
We talked about the server, and the many current bugs and glitches and some possible ideas on how the community might fix it, even when our admins (as dedicated as they are) can't.
So, first thing I noticed without even talking to Spooks was that the /store command didn't work (no permission).
I made a plugin, it took me just 5 minutes to write and compile. When you type /store, it does this:
