+1 anyone who makes a post after two years to get unbanned is worth unbanning.

I'm happy to do this and create a global staff section. I think discussion amongst staff would be helpful and bring attention to issues that we as a whole can fix. It wouldn't be per staff group though but for any and all staff.

However the criticism about segregation between staff and the rest of the community is a sound argument, and we really do need activity spread across the entire website rather than just one spot.

I just want to see forum activity increase and get new members and new content so I can view the website and see tons of new things posted.

Could ban protests be made easier for people to do, without requiring the user to sign-up on the forums? I was thinking something like a Captcha request would be sufficient. We have a new spray ban feature on Morbus now, which could drive up the number of protests. Because these things are being handed out more frequently with less consideration; as, the client is no longer banned from the server. This is the biggest barrier for someone to post a protest, that could allow us to resolve the issue and give the user their spraying privileges back. I had a discussion with @Makr6e6 about this, and we both think, this is turning people away from posting a protest; which, is very counter-productive to moderation goals.

It could also be that the users who don't make ban protests simply refuse to make them and rather add a staff member and complain.

Also non-registered posts would be a nightmare and would most likely break when we convert to the new version of the forum software.

I really don't think he had any malicious intent and I've been talking to him and he is very concerned about his position and has taken a very proactive concern about it. I feel that if he was just going to bail or didn't care he wouldn't be doing this. I would like to give him another chance but he would be on thin ice. And as Aegean I'll take responsibility for anything that happens with him, but I'm certain it will not.

He messed up but he didn't plan on screwing us over. He is still loyal to xG.

I talked to Supreme and he has told me he left the other clan completely. How does everyone feel about this?

Yeahhhh he's been asking me for help about setting up PayPal and server configs :/ I was against him doing this but Aegean and I agreed if it became a problem he would have to choose between us and the other clan.

Is there any chance you could setup text messages for important alerts? It would be cool if forum moderators could send alerts through text message, for important things like ban protests. This would dramatically increase response times.

I doubt people would want to be sent text messages and we would have to code a complete unsubscribing system and it would just be a mess.

Yeah SourcePawn sucks so much. Good learning though for clever programming with a limited system.

We will be giving staff members more credits for their help and I'm looking into other ways to incentivize those, like staff members, that are invaluable.

However stuff like this is gonna cause issues with stuff like that and we will most likely just ban those who do this. It's ridiculous that there are a small amount of individuals doing it.

Does towny have raiding of any sort?

I believe so, having both towny and factions has never made any sense to me since they pretty much do the same thing but with different features. I personally prefer towny as it has always had more features and more options for town owners to utilize.

I mean hunger games takes too many players, and factions leaves the whole world blown up and ugly. Towny has that same feel but its relaxed. You can have pvp turned on outside towns, and have the skill system like we did before, its gonna be fun

I believe there's an option to regenerate chunks that are inactive.

I don't think it's about that. DarkRP servers just end up being the exact same as every other DarkRP server out there, unless you just load up a crap load of useless addons and make it confusing and laggy.

Stickz probably want's a better solution than that.

Alright so update on this.

I want to get a team together for a league that the team can vote on for which they will play. There will be five players plus two stand-ins that will have full league costs paid by me, and any further stand-ins will not have costs paid for but if they need to come in I'll cover it. I will also cover server costs and whatnot so there won't be an issue with anything of the sort.

I want to hold tryouts for the team to find who is most capable and most devoted to spending the time needed to make this team succeed!

I will also be opening up another sub-forum for all discussion related to this, and maybe a private section for team members that they can discuss within.

If its the former, it'd be a good idea to replace the displacements with generic brushes to cut down on polygons. One of the more foolish decisions I've ever made just so I would have an excuse to use the WorldVertexTransition shader for smoother edges with the paint-alpha tool.

 

Granted Mediafire didn't purge the download, the map pack posted in this thread contains the necessary source vmf files (I believe(?)) to make the necessary modifications to prep for a CS:GO map. If you do, go crazy. Maybe Nomulous can have that disco room he wanted, complete with a Bosnian sex toy.

 

Just occurred to me this thread was dormant for months. It would probably be best to lock it to prevent further grave digging. It served its purpose, I suppose.
