    Seriously?

There's no reason to remove his membership. First things first, the workplace comparison is totally inappropriate given the circumstances. We are an internet gaming clan, almost universally comprised of memers and trolls. We are the shit-stain at the bottom of the filthy-ass scumbucket that is the internet. On a regular basis, people say much worse things on TS and we're totally fine with it. People in this thread use the word "nigger" in their regular vocabulary (*cough* @Kyoko *cough*) yet they're never punished. Why? Because we know that they're not fucking racist. Just because Iggy changes his name to Captain Nazi on steam, changes his avatar and status to a swastika, does not mean that he's a racist. Iggy doesn't have steam groups dedicated to hating ethnic and religious minorities, he doesn't go on rants on TS about how much he hates jews, blacks and immigrants, so from what I can tell he's not a racist. For pete's sake people, there's a nazi server group on TS. Do we punish those people because this makes them automatically racists and terrible people? Of course not. If you honestly think that Iggy should have his membership revoked, then about 50%+ of xenogamers also needs to have their membership revoked.

Tier 6 is a bit odd. I'm good with forum moderator, that makes sense. And honorary member should happen regardless because it's a great idea.

But division admins have never had forum powers, at least as long as I've been here. And I honestly don't see a reason for them to have them. Especially with the bigger divisions, because tf2 doesn't need 15 people with forum powers, it's just clunky and wouldn't make things run better.

The whole "changing the positions" thing is pretty much as ideal as it could be made in my opinion. I don't know how much this has been discussed, especially after Penguin announced his resignation, but make kbraszz a Community Leader. He is by far the best candidate in the entirety of the clan for the position, and essentially the only person who I would recommend for it. While this will make it so we have an even number of CL's, it really isn't that big of a deal to me; we can just defer to the Co Leader for the tie-breaking vote in the event of an even vote (the Senate does the same thing with the Vice President). There are a couple of issues here which I'd like to quickly address. Since it appears that the staff roster is up-to-date, I'm going to use this weekend to revamp Cookie's megathread, and I'll probably use this new chain of command in it.

I'm not entirely sure how we would implement this without the referral system (maybe some kind of donator reward?). With the referral system this should be a reward for 25 friends recruited. However, this new rank (and the other ones, like New Member [which in my opinion shouldn't be a rank in the first place]) should not be included in the standard chain of command. Adding new ranks that are essentially rewards will only serve to confuse chain of command if they appear to be part of it in any way, shape or form. In my opinion, this is the only new rank that should be included, while Honorary member and New Member should be scrapped.

Additionally, I think the title of Super Member should be scrapped and replaced with titles representing the ways the title/reward was earned. If people donated for these rewards, give them the donator tag on forums/teamspeak. If someone earned the rewards through the referral system, give them a forum and teamspeak tag called "Referral Master" or something along those lines. Super Member implies that they have some kind of authority over normal members, when in actuality they really don't.

I think our forum staff is large enough currently. No matter how much staff we have, there'll always be blind spots when staff aren't able to respond to an issue immediately.

Define active. Is this in-game activity, forum activity, teamspeak activity or something else? Looking through activity logs, most of our newest members still seem to be active after getting membership, so is this rank really even needed in the first place?

Kind of unrelated, but I can start to set up tournaments for League of Legends every couple of weeks. You can submit a prized event application on Riot Games' website, which allows you to essentially host an official tournament so long as we have 8 teams or more participating (keep in mind we don't have to have all eight teams before applying, the event is open to the public and just about anyone who plays on the North American League server can participate). If our application gets approved we can set up an official date for the tournament and our event goes up on a big calendar on Riot Games' site (essentially promoting us for free to potentially thousands of people). Their website has an FAQ with the answers to basically every question about this so if you have any question I'd go check it out (link). There are recording services that can record all of the games in the tournament, so we could even make montages out of the highlights and post them on our Youtube channel (which really could use some life).

Now that CL's have powers on the Steam Group, I can start scheduling populate events. We can have one every Friday and Saturday night, and each week we'll promote a different server. One week it could be Saxton Hale, the next week it could be CS:GO Jailbreak, etc. Since CS:GO Jailbreak is now (basically) up and running, I was going to schedule an event for later today (and probably tomorrow as well) in order to help populate the server. We could do contests with rewards for the winners (hub points, I guess it's dependent on the server, maybe it could be something simple like a TS group). This would be pretty simple, like trivia contests or rewards for people with the highest frags at the end of each map rotation, etc. Also, at the very least all DL's should be given moderator powers on the steam group, possibly even all the DM's as well.

I feel that those positions don't really solve the issues, but just compound them. Unfortunately I think it's way too complicated to have all those positions, it's confusing.

diabeetus reacted to Moosty in Xg - Active Management And Dead Divs
We've had instances lately of higher ups in divisions leaving the CLs out of things. And while part of that is on the DMs and DLs for not including them, I do feel like people don't think to include CLs because they don't see the CLs as an effective authority when they don't play on the servers. I don't see this trend changing anytime soon unless the CLs atleast make an effort to be more active, and staff of divisions work to keep them well informed. They can't do their jobs at all with no information, we need to work on that. The clan runs alot better when everyone is on the same page, and that simply just isn't happening right now, and that's on everyone

as much as I want this to happen I think Lithium is right. There just arent as many people playing CS:S anymore and if we did start the server again it would go back to being as populated as it was a few months before it was shut down. I feel like CS:GO jailbreak has a much better chance at being populated if at all

This thread is probably better suited as an abuse report rather than a member protest, so I'll move it over real quick.

If this guy has a history of abusing his paid mod powers, why was he allowed to get his powers back after repeated(?) incidences of abuse? A couple of bucks isn't worth the bad reputation that you can receive with an abusive mod running around. Unfortunately, I can't remove his powers unless actual proof of some kind of abuse is presented. If he really is as abusive as he supposedly is, said evidence shouldn't be too hard to collect.

diabeetus reacted to Dethman in New Ranks
So some of you do not know except for Diabeetus, Rhododendron, and tf2 staff. Rhodo and I came up with 2 brand new ranks that serve more than one purpose. These will help out Division Managers do promo demos, help staff with bans, and overall bring new life into the staff and clan. These 2 new ranks will also train our future staff on how to carry out there jobs. These ranks are the head moderators and head admins.

What will these new ranks do exactly?

Head moderators will be very limited on what to do. Obviously they will carry out there moderating duties. As they are doing that the selected person will train new moderators on how to do there job. As our current staff have a lack of knowledge of what they are doing. This guy will also be able to nominate people to become new moderators which will be discussed by the DM's. He will be the one who gives mods a test on if they know how to do there job on a 2 week basis. This test will exclude mods promoted within a 4 week basis as they are technically new. He will be the one who receives administrator next.

    Head Administrator.

The head admin will have a more impacting role on the servers. The head admin will decide whether or not someone is ready or not for moderator before even being nominated. The head admin will have source bans access to extend/reduce bans and add demos to already placed bans. This rank will also recommend as he will decide if the head moderator is ready for admin or not. Head admin is next in line for DM or a possible slot as CL if necessary.

IMO it worked fine in the beginning, but for some reason CL's, myself included, have been left out of many conversations. This was the root of the problem. In addition, I understand why we "removed" leader, but in reality you should have retained that title and power. We're essentially trying to run a government with no leader, and that never works.

First things first, it should be discussed with ALL community leaders, not just nom and silence. I don't know why the ban was changed pre-empively, it looks like someone just wants to see Vector permed in my opinion.

Additionally, these secret conversations are kinda dumb. If you have something to say, especially if it involves something that was as disputed as Vector's ban, use admin discussion. We aren't a secret society, be more transparent about community issues. All higher-ups deserve to have easy access to all major community discussions.

Lastly, I'd like some more info about what's happening in this conversation. Was there an open debate about the status of Vector's ban, or was it leaning more towards a forceful imposition of one viewpoint. Screencaps of the conversation would be greatly appreciated (sent via steam or in a thread in admin discussion).
