I agree. We've dropped the ball completely when it comes to server population lately and something obviously needs to be done about it. I'll see if we can set something up for this coming weekend. If anyone wants to help out feel free to contact me on steam or forums.

BungeeCord server setup successfully and using new control panel so FTP access and server control will be given out now.

Back ups happening every hour and will setup backing up to S3 soon.

Casino server is installed and will push all those relevant plugins to that server. Also need to push economy plugin to MySQL to stay shared across the servers.

We are aware of the voting bug. Please do not vote as of now. Will update you all when it is fixed. Cheers mates! (I think this is how Super speaks not quite sure though. He could be speaking an entirely different language for all I know)

Pepper reacted to Owl in Sponsor Ideas For The Divisions
Silence and I (I believe mudkip and mince were there too but it wasn't that important) had a discussion earlier and there were some points I think should 100% go into play

    Paid staff positions:
Silence really was pushing for this, at least for the CSGO division. Paid staff would be added on to the sponsor tier. Users would have the group "sponsor" in sourcebans and wear tags as xG:S.
Their powers would be very minimal:

    Slay
    Kick
    Teamswap
    Mute
    Gag
    Exclusive items on hub

    Potential server-specific options:

    Free special days/rtds (jb)
Extend map (servers that aren't jb, probably)
Votes hold more weight (all servers if we wanna transition to UMC)

Increased credit gain (all servers, not by much tho, maybe just up by 1/2 in distributor)

Other stuff I can't think of for future servers

After thinking over it for a while I don't mind it at all, I think it could be a good way to encourage more sponsors (we have 4 lol) while boosting server popularity with minimal risks.
There is to be a notice somewhere that says all sponsors moderator powers will be removed if there is any cases of abuse/etc.

I believe that the same sponsor rank should be added to other divisions.
Possibly TF2 sponsors could get all the donator powers? Also integrating and replacing tf2's donator tiers and grandfathering them into Sponsorship could be a good idea to future proof everything, but I'll leave that to tf2/CLs. Using ideas similar to what I listed for CSGO, if possible, should happen.
Minecraft already has a lot of systems in place to give major benefits to sponsors.
No comment on gmod/nd as they aren't real divisions.

    Ease to purchase sponsor
In its current state, sponsor is not very easy for new players/forum retards to actually purchase. Adding an option (or restricting it to this entirely) to purchase sponsor through the forum hub with credits would be dank as fuck, and seems super stupid to not have it in place already
    same for tf2 donator powers

I also personally think that the sponsor tiers thing we have going on is unintuitive and should be minimized to just one option or reworked to something that would be simpler. This would benefit the option to purchase through credits. honestly I don't really have a solution on this one but I just am not a fan of the tiers. If anything just add all the tiers to the hub and keep it how it is, just with credits. idunno tho

all of this is just speculation and not promised to happen, obviously

until you have a proper statement/excuse/apology/whatever nothing will have changed from the previous mod apps

I get it's been quite some time, but still, not really something you should lie about... especially for something as petty as abusing a command

You know I miss the GMOD division. Its how I joined this clan. @Charrax 's TTT server was fun, its where I made my friends and it convinced me to join the community. Back then the GMOD division felt like it was part of the community. Nowadays it feels segregated from the community and where I see the fault is in the division leader @Vertex . Its a pattern we have seen over and over with the way he runs his divisions. He makes no interaction with the community, no communication, promotes whoever he wants even if they are not a member of the community. I really don't know how this has been put up with for so long. We should not have a division that feels like its a severed arm. Thats not the fault of the community, that is a fault of you. As a DL you are supposed to be leading this division as part of the community but I've seen to many things where you have separated your division from the rest. I feel you need to start treating this division as part of the community because I truly miss the days where we had a truly good GMOD div.

The steam group is integrated with the steam client people play on the server with. It's a powerful tool for shipping notifications to clients and populating the server. Otherwise, it's mainly used for quick questions or posting links to player models people want on the server. Longer posts like feedback threads, the forums work better for. There's pros and cons to both. You can't just invite someone to be instantly signed up on the forums, like what can be done with a steam group during prep-rounds.

Something like updating a staff roaster is a task an assistant like a division manager should be performing. My time is limited and valuable due to programming skills. So improving the server experience is always going to be set at a higher priority than updating the staff roaster. There's no dm currently, if there was it would be done already.

Currently there's nobody willing from other divisions that's active on Garry's Mod. That's why launching TTT will change things, by sparking more interest. I'm always looking for more staff. There are multiple moderators currently, but that's the only task they wish to perform.

Garry's Mod is a huge positive having the game-server and the moderators. The only thing missing is the human resource element appointing a division manger could fix this, but there has to be someone willing to perform the task and stay in-touch with the community. A couple have expressed they're only willing to do this for TTT when it's launched. Multiple servers will be the key factor in the future, to create the type of clan involvement TF2 has, while maintaining all the positives of running things differently.

I'm sure the server(s) are great, but I'm talking about forums. What is so great about our forum is that i can somewhat keep myself updated with what's going on the other divisions even though i don't really play on the servers that often.

Yes, but there's also things you can do yourself to get more involved with the rest of the clan. For example, why is the staff roster so horribly out of date? Why do you discuss everything in a steam group instead of forums? There's a lot of work that can be done here from both sides that would benefit us greatly as a community.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of us have either school or work to attend. If there's is way too much work for a single person to do, why not promote some more staff or get some help from people in other divisions? We're a community after all, if one of us needs some help, that help should be available to get.

Definitely. My intention with this post isn't to be rude, but the way gmod and nuclear dawn is run is so drastically different from the rest of xG, i feel like it kind of hinders us from growing. A lot of people, especially the newer members have no idea that gmod or nd even is a division. I feel like having more forum presence would remedy the situation somewhat, and not only grow the your divisions and in turn make xG bigger, but grow the entire clan as a whole.
