-1 uneccesary, its just 30 seconds, I don't see the reasson to have one person ruin everyones fun

There a actual examples on exploitation on surf, like abusing the low grav in certain maps like crazyfrog, that's actual exploiting because it's able to give you an advantage over the map or players. The charging has no benefit besides just being silly for 20 seconds.  It's not harmful, it's not useful, it's just simple fun.
Also trying to claim that people will leave after that's done is a far reach.  Surf is one of the most populated tf2 servers next to tgh.  Plus what I mean for crying about is someone saying "that's loud" when they are standing basically in the corner where the demos are.  No one ever actually leaves or cries about it once the round actually starts.

There isn’t a way for the charge to be harmful considering it’s mostly done in the farthest corner of spawns, and that anyone is physically able to walk away or simply move slightly to hear. There is literally no way for it to stem something worse since it’s pretty cut and dry. There is also no way for it to be game ruining since majority of players do not even load in for the full 20 seconds and the map resets everyone back to spawn and wasd frozen. The chance of something happening in that time span is slim to none, you can’t even finish any of the surf maps in that time.

Shouldn't this be a poll or something?
Still, -1 only since it seems very minor to worry about.
Also, stripping little fun things away eventually adds up over time, making things feel kinda...soulless? Imo anyways.

-1 I don't think this even needed to be a thread. A brief 30 second period designed to be a short goof-off grace period before everyone loads in isn't the most catastrophic time to have a demoman make a proximity-based noise. I highly doubt that that many people can't stand something so small, when hardly anyone complains about it at all. It's not that deep.

-1 because I’m going to correct some things (sorry if formatting turns garbage I’m on my phone)
1.its not a supply cabinet, it’s just demoman himself
2.its only 20 seconds at best if you connect right away
3.its not even as loud as you’re making it out to be, all you have to do is distance yourself a tiny bit to hear whoever is talking, what you’re saying with not being able to hear anyone is if you’re charging yourself.
4.its not an exploit because everything else is given infinite ammo, which so happens to include charge.
Honestly the amount of people who are genuinely upset about this is so small compared to the amount of people who don’t care at all. Is it really that hard to simply l, idk, walk 2 steps away from a charging demo. It’s literally only 20 seconds out of a whole 25 minutes on surf. Majority of players don’t even load in at that time. Getting rid of this continues on how nitpicky some people are about the slightest fun.

I am not going to be the deciding vote on this. @mrnutty12
Me and you have definitely had issues. Sometimes if I'm honest, I can't stand you because you can complain so much and become very rude and toxic. On the other hand, you have also shown and can be friendly and look towards the betterment of the server. I'm going to -1 for the sake of not being the final vouch, though it's nothing personal and I would stay neutral if elcark wasn't a butt
    Good luck on your application

    @NitNat
Any rules that aren't written should not be enforced unless someone would like to give me an example of one that is not written in the rules for whatever reason. I can also comment on the "immature voice" rule as well now that you brought it up again. We had that rule back in 2010 - 2011 and I remember rejecting it back then because one of our members had a very squeaky voice but was active, followed rules, and wanted to warden in Jailbreak. We stopped the immature voice since from what I remember unless they intentionally tried to be annoying or spammed voice chat.

If any staff or member wants to message me a list of "implied rules" that they have been hearing, I'm happy to clear up any misconceptions that there might be about each and every single one of them. I'm happy to discuss with the TF2 staff + Virr to make sure we revise any rule that is confusing to staff as well.

Bumping this thread for a quick reason,
This is completely understandable, I'm sure creating a motd from scratch is as fun as a bed of nails.  My only suggestion involving with the rules is that there are (what feels) like invisible rules.  From rejoining surf with a few friends, there seems to be rules I've never seen; or have been enforced in a long time are just showing up out of the blue.  From that "immature voice" situation to even an exploit rule on surf today involving quick spawning.  The guy who did this genuinely didn't even know it was against the rules along with majority of the server.  Yeah, you can argue that quick spawning and killing is under combat exploit rules, which I'm somewhat agreeing with; my pet peeve is the problem with such broad and vague rules. You can't assume every new member has common sense or just know every rule under the sun. There are just too many implied rules that newcomers to xG will not know of.  Heck, I didn't even know of it til tonight.  All I'm really trying to say is not to have so many implications in the rules, to be more straight forward to specific problems and to be a little more cut and dry.  At least in the end that leaves little room for any biased behavior with staff now or in the future.

You're just restating what's already been mentioned by someone else.  The "exaggerated voice" on servers is clearly not to irritate someone.  I've seen a few examples of it being for humor that should've annoy anyone in the first place.  I was even told today "no immature voice allowed" when I answered a question to a surf friend today in a slightly higher pitch than my normal voice in one sentence.  I didn't have the intent behind to annoy anyone with it but as a little burst of humor to lighten to mood of the surf in general, but seeing how up in the air the current "rule" of that is, it creates a no fun allowed feeling in the servers.

how can i improve on something i’ve been trying to improve but just one thing after another with xG and the staff like every single staff member has a different take on donors and me out of all of them like i was looking through member subs and this is the most commented on
i’m also not playing victim i am saying yes and no to what i have actually done and people are lying saying i killed with valve rocket launcher that night and that is bullpoop i did not

no i did try and snipe in to there spawn it didn’t work out like i knew it wasn’t going to and there not excuses they are justified reasons but not justified by you guys justified by that being the reason i did it like how is sniping into spawn abusing donor powers and how was i abusing donor powers? earlier i was on ff2 and i changed my gravity then mod told me to reset it so i did like it does not say in donor rules not to use gravity on certain servers
it’s just me exercising my rights as a donor to the max and half of you guys get mad cuz you know what i’m doing is smartass-ary and the other half doesn’t have a problem cuz they know there isn’t a problem
