Meh I don't use teamspeak because I'm not too social on the mic and don't like talking to large groups of players or paying attention to that many people since I'm not that talkative and like some privacy so I just prefer discord so I can talk to certain friends or other staff, I honestly don't care bout which one I use since I find them to be basically the same thing, I just prefer talking to smaller groups and not having to communicate as much.

So i've been thinking about this for awhile and there are many reasons for it.
 
First off, my biggest problem is how disgruntled, the TF2 xG community is. I'm not naming names because i don't want to cause shit or belittle anyone in particular because it's everyone in the TF2 div's fault, mine included for not doing a better job at trying to mitigate these situations. It's just the sad state of affairs this community is and frankly i'm tired of it. Everyone is at each other's throats with constant bull shit flung from both sides. This is also especially true in the staff community. Everyone has a clique and if you don't like someone they will try and do shit in their powers to get people they don't like demoted or promoted. I've heard ridiculous bull shit like people going on alt accounts just to instigate staff with the hopes of having them caught handling a situation poorly just for evidence to get them demoted. No one wants to help their fellow admin or mod. I'm not saying you have to be their friend or even like them for that matter, but to do some lowly bull shit like cut evidence up to make someone look bad or just being hypocrites and i'm seeing it is dragging into other divisions too and i'm really just getting tired of it. i was hoping @Aegean would make a thread about the state of the community of the tf2 division but that hasn't been created yet. If you're glad to see me demoted then fine. But it shouldn't be a good thing that a staff member is stepping down nor should it be a good thing that they were demoted. People in this clan go out of their way to not help moderators especially with their job on the line and it's pretty fucked. It also doesn't help that there is always a fucking problem. It feels like at least once a week there is this massive shit storm where it's nothing but shit flinging or passive aggressive comments, discord rants and so on. You might be thinking, well you will encounter this any where. That's true to an extent but for god sakes people. This is a video community, not some corporate business where you gotta step all over people to get to the top or some cliche shit like that.
 
Second, school. I'm leaving this sunday for school and will probaby too busy to moderate when trying to balance a social life, university and so on.
 
Third, Tf2 just isn't really fun anymore. i'm struggling to just get the hours to justify my admin powers and with this TF2 update not coming out to help light some sort of interest in this game it's becoming more and more of a pain. I'm sure many of you playing tf2 right now can understand how i'm feeling about how slow this update progress has been as i'm sure many of you have displayed as well.
 
Anyway, thats it, i'm stepping down. I will consider coming back in the future however as of right now, with school, little interest in tf2, and just the tf2 division as a whole, i think its my time to step down. Hope the tf2 divison gets their stuff together and i hope all of the mods/admins do a great job. Peace. i will probably still play tf2 every now and again.

For anyone that says Skelly wants mod back too soon, it doesnt matter. He was getting very bored of tf2 and everytime he got on a server it felt like a chore for him. he needed to take a break to make tf2 feel fresh for him again, and his break was very short. He's playing surf, tgh, and pokemon trade a lot now. He's playing almost every day.

There has been a lot of confusion on how to deal with Donator abuse, so the TF2 higher ups have discussed this subject and we came up with a little something:

What counts as Donator abuse?

Someone purposely misusing Donator powers is not allowed, an example would be killing people with noclip.
However, I expect our staff to use common sense to determine whether something was intentional or accidental. Let's say someone buys über Donator and wants to test out his powers. They use /kartme and accidentally bump into another person. In situations like these, where someone was obviously just having an accident, it is not necessary to punish them. Try to explain the command to them to prevent this from happening in the future. Then again, if someone who had Donator powers for quite a while just charges into enemies with /kartme, they should be punished.
Now let's get to the interesting part:

How to punish abusive Donators:

The protocol in these cases is:
Warn -> Kick -> Day Ban
Kick -> Week Ban + Removal of powers
 
If they're abusing for the first time, give them a warning through chat and tell them what they've done wrong. If they do not listen, kick them. If they come back after a kick, you can ban them for a day. If they come back after a day ban and abuse again, you do not have to warn them again. Jump straight to a kick. If they come back after a kick and do it again, ban them for a week and notify the higher ups so we can remove their powers.
 

A few things to add:

As mentioned earlier, you shouldn't follow this protocol when someone accidentally screws up - it has happened to everyone.
Additionally, it does not matter if someone has been banned before, this protocol applies for Donators regardless of their ban history (unless they have been banned for abuse before, obviously). To make it more clear, here's an example:
If someone has a day ban for bodyblocking and abuses their powers, do not kick them and then jump to a week ban.

So here's a little something thought up by @Natsu to hopefully convenience some people. Basically the purpose of this thread is to have all
the maps on our servers accessible as single compressed files as opposed to downloading the maps one at a time whenever joining a server.
Hopefully it serves as a more convenient way for people who don't frequent certain servers as much to not have to wait extensively each time they join or the map changes to be able to play, and instead can just have all the maps beforehand. This was considered especially for staff who haven't frequented certain servers when responding to calladmins.
Anyways, if you have any thoughts or comments let me know, I might try to keep the files up to date as maps are added/removed and maybe do other servers such as zombie fortress. Feel free to let me know if any of the files are screwed up or missing maps. Otherwise, if you think it's a neat-o thinga-ma-jig be sure to give a thanks to our man Sora, and if you think it's a stupid waste of time, I at least had fun doing it (even if uploading the files killed my wifi).

I feel like the main issue is that people are hesitant to believe that someone with "toxic" behavior was able to make a significant change over a fairly short period of time.
 
I'll remain neutral for now, as I'm not sure if I had played with you before any of the drama went down, and if I had I don't recall any issues. I also don't believe I've played with you since your return (you're a Pokemon Trade player right? That's probably why...) so I can't really say if you've made a change or not. Anything else I've heard has just been hearsay and rumors, so I'd much rather form my own opinion before deciding to vouch for or against you.

tatost lies about knowing who manly duck is and tells everyone who knows to lie and then gets kicked out completely for harassing staff. Rejects adds some extra power and now has no chance while tatost is applying to be a mod. IT HAS BEEN A MONTH since he was a member, that is complete bs.

In the end I don't think 1 month is clear enough to see change.
If there is barley any time to see change in Rejects, then there is no way Tatost is mature enough!

Hello fellow TF2 Division players. I'm proud to announce the opening of a new server, the Game Rotation server (IP: 192.223.26.150:27015)
 
What is this server, you may ask? Simply put, it's a server to add new gamemodes to our community without having to dedicate one to it for an extended period of time. Votes will be held here every month to see what gamemode will be hosted on the server.
 
Currently, the server is running Murder, a gamemode suggested by @Spoopy about 2 months ago. The first vote will be held in this thread in about 2 - 3 weeks to see if it remains, or gets replaced by a new gamemode. So be sure to keep an eye on this thread for updates!
 
The votes will consist of 3 new gamemodes and a vote to keep the current running gamemode.
 
You can also suggest your own gamemodes for this server. If it's popular enough it will be added to the vote for the next gamemode change.
Maps, additional plugins, or specific settings can also be suggested in this thread. As long as you feel your suggestion would help supplement the current running gamemode.

Once again, Player(s) being banned with excessive ban times when a day-ban for the same rules broken never previously occurred on the Player's record. Not going to provide a vouch, but Higher-Ups need to clarify on whether this is how ban times should be stacking or not.
 
With that said, would also like to recommend a new set of punishments to deal with Chat and Mic spam for Servers that have this feature; ideally revoking the user's Chat/Mic privileges via Comms ban for a pre-determined amount of time depending on the severity of the case before escalating to a Server ban.

I don't know much about the month ban but you have definitely been toxic lately, just yesterday you had came on tgh and a kid was just talking on the mic doing nothing wrong, his mic was of decent quality and he was just talking casually, yet you instantly started yelling at us in admin chat to mute him for being "immature" which was not true in anyway. The thing about tf2 is that a majority of players here are kids so you can't just start bullying them for talking on the mic and wanting an immediate mute for sounding younger than you would like, when you could have just client side muted him like I said. Also right after we said no, you went on with calling us awful mods for not muting a kid just for talking on the mic which makes no sense, not to mention that at the end of your rant you threatened that you were going to make an admin abuse thread on us even though we were just doing our job and then disconnected from the server before any of us could even respond. So just seeing how you were acting the day before and now with this I'm just going to -1 the thread.

I recently got gagged for asking why Nigga is considered a slur and it just pisses me off to no end.
 
Nigga is NOT an offensive slur, it's used by black people all the time as a term of endearment. Literally
NO ONE is going to get offended by people saying it, so why punish people for it????? I find this to be
a breach of free speech. When people are intending to create hate-speech for people of color they just
say Nigger, plain and simple. It's just wrong and unfair to ban words like this because it just gives them
more notoriety for absolutely no reason. You can do a simple fucking google search and learn that Nigga
is used in a positive way unlike Nigger. I understand that the word has evil roots but that's really no excuse.

Really xG staff needs to either get more consistent with their policies or just get rid of punishment for slurs altogether

+1 I've known him since I first started tf2 and he has always been good staff member and a good example to others in the community as he adds to it and makes it more fun for everyone, and how he helps out new player. Should have gotten it sooner.

Initial Thoughts:
 
The beginning of the game was like opening a mystery crate; it was mysterious, the controls weren’t all unlocked yet, everything was interesting and it just kept revealing new things to me. The gameplay was easy enough to pick up and the starting enemies were perfect for easing the player into the flow of battle and also basic mechanics. What really kept amazing me was the scenery-- it never failed to amaze me.

 
 
Gameplay and Story:
 
Admittedly, the story wasn’t too important or in depth. It was the typical ‘Ganon is evil and did a bunch of evil things and you gotta save Zelda.’ But, the sheer amount of gameplay and features in Breath of the Wild compensated. There were many hidden mechanics that aren’t explicitly taught (i.e. crouching dashes, shield surfing, and mounting certain enemies). Finding them or learning of them made the game interesting and more in depth as compared to previous Zelda games. In my opinion, one of the best parts about Breath of the Wild is the ability to be creative in whatever you do. For example, there’s always more than one way to take on an enemy; you could sneak strike them from behind, you could rain arrows on them or you could use a Korok leaf to blow remote bombs on them. There’s just so many different methods of doing things. That said, as a player, I constantly found new items, methods and little easter eggs scattered about the gigantic map.

There are so many points of interest in the game that honestly, I would have expected more quests for them. This brings me to my other point: quests. You have your Main Quests such as “Defeat Ganon,” Shrine Quests, and Sidequests. Although some quests are the same (i.e. Defeat x!, Gather these items!, or Find x!), some are genuinely interesting to play through. One quest that stands out in my mind relates to the construction of an entire town from the ground up (Literally named From the Ground Up). It’s the longest quest in the game, but playing through it was fun and interesting in my opinion.
 
 
Backstory:
The backstory to this game is essentially the basis and catalyst for all the game's events. To summarize, everything that happened in the past with Ganon and all has a direct effect on the present in which the game is playable. Some characters are the ancestors of characters of the past that may or may not hate you for your actions or lack of action. Overall, I'd say the backstory does well to support the main story, but the story as a whole falls short of other games.

Cons:
 
After beating the game, it gets difficult to find new things to do.
Many quests or goals are very tedious and require a lot of resources, time and patience.
You can find many weapons, but there are no permanent weapons other than the Master Sword.
Travelling to places without fast travel points is tedious and having a horse around isn’t always guaranteed.
Resources are always limited, so grinding for enough or just peace of mind is inevitable.
 
 
Final Thoughts:
Breath of the Wild, in my personal opinion, was a brave new step in the right direction for the franchise. It’s open world exploration and mechanics were very interesting to play through and provided many countless hours of playing. I usually get bored fairly easily, but this game kept showing me new things to do and new places to check out-- I haven’t even finished all the quests and shrines yet. And because DLC is on the horizon, the game is guaranteed to provide even more content. Anyone can pick up the game and start playing; you don’t have to be a fan of the series already, which is one feature I like about it.

Not to sound like a super asshole here but if people want to donate stuff thats awesome. It shouldn't matter on the value of the item. Someone wanted to give it to the bot to give to someone else. While giving crates is not cool just be happy with you get. Like I said it isn't on the value of the item, its the thought that counts. You are really the only person that is pissed the bot exists.

How about we have certain items you can or cannot donate? Like you cannot give crates to the bot to giveaway. Thats just really dumb. Also if I may add that this bot just came out and there might be some bugs that need to be fixed.

Bhop is a mistake.

Closing this thread, plugin was removed from the servers. Adding this plugin was a huge decision that was not made by any of the TF2 higher ups, and we were never talked to about adding it. This plugin completely breaks class balance, and would make most gamemodes unplayable in terms of balance.
