While his toxicity warrants some sort of warning, I feel that a ban is disproportionate to what he's actually doing. If we held this precedence of members getting banned for these levels of toxicity, we would ban every person who's had a bad day or two. Also, jumping straight to a ban seems a little unwarranted when he has no discord warnings whatsoever. While I know he's received numerous verbal warnings, he isn't a person who has, say, 5+ pages of warnings like some members do.

In conclusion, banning someone outright seems unwarranted, when they have received little to no warnings whatsoever. While his actions still warrants a warning, I feel his actions have been blown out of proportion. I would warn him, and if he is to continue for an extended period of time, a ban would be warranted.

I agree with pretty much everything you said here, but would still like to point out the fact that the people with 4-5+ pages of warnings either have meme warnings or their warnings are over an extended period of time. In Crow's/Decidueye's case, he has received multiple verbal or text warnings within the span of 2-3 weeks. I'd also like to mention that there were some problems with this specific player back in 2017 which form the very foundation of this ban request. I find it odd to compare someone who starts arguments on the daily to someone who occasionally and jokingly says "TF2 dead division" or the hard r n-word.

+1 for member removal at the very least, if not ban

has been a massive pain for anyone around him whether it be on tf2 or discord, constantly trying to shut people down for any meager reason, causes trouble rather than meaningful discussions in terms of walls of text, etc etc

ive been so lenient to the point where im mentally handicapped

    This^

Currently, these are the problems with Crow-

    • He's a member of the community (as of 2017) and fails to meet the standards that we hold any and all of our members to. (Read his member application in one of my previous posts if you haven't already.)
    • He has openly expressed his hatred for the community, including the players and the servers.
    • He constantly starts arguments in the Discord due to his inability to take other people's opinions into mind. If he were able to have a civil discussion on the topic, none of us would have any reason to hate him, as everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
    • Constant general player disrespect

    evidence!

not saying it doesn't exist, it just needs to be included in the thread

    DISCORDAPP.COM

Step up your game with a modern voice & text chat app. Crystal clear voice, multiple server and channel support, mobile apps, and more...

This is just one of the arguments he started (Deleted User is Crow). @BonfireCentipede can link any other arguments, since I don't really know exactly where they started.

    neutral for now

I think warnings should be put in place first rather than a ban, but I don't know if he's been warned at all so correct me if I'm wrong.

It takes two people to continue an argument. I think the problem is that a lot of us will majorly disagree with anything he says, and have a hard time ending an argument that will just never end. However, if the argument leads to insults/toxicity, warnings should be put in place.

It wasn't the normal warning using modulo, but I did give him a warning over text. The entire "free game" scenario happened while I was still staff.

  5. +1 said bonfire and I are retarded for pointing out that no one would be willing to let him use their switch accounts to play their games for free. He complained that I pinged him in the middle of the night when he had "heat rash" even though he could have just turned off notifications for pings (he also could have just put his phone in do-not-disturb mode).

If any of you remember me from two years ago, I was a complete fucking retard. Decidueye/Crow was no different. He would constantly start arguments or get overly hostile for no reason. He hasn't changed at all, Crow is the same 14-year-old child that he was two years ago. How he got member continues to amaze me. I implore you to read his first member application here:

as far as I know, three of the four of us that would be "hosts" (myself, Jadow, Bumpy, and occasionally Lithium) work* and are not available at the same times that everyone else is at work/school/etc. any time we consider pop events it's always for a weekend and in the evening, when 90% of people will be off of work

*this is currently, for the summer - once school starts up again who fucking knows what's gonna be happening

Thing is, you don't need a "host" unless you're doing some sort of giveaway for credits/items. They don't really have an impact on the game that normal staff members (mods, admins) would have. Just have regular events so, if someone wanted to join in, they could plan around it. I think it would be nice to have some sort of regular population to kind of get people back into the mood for playing JB/MG.

as for the second part, way ahead of you, tf2 now has an @‘able role for population, been asking for it for ages

    I'm also asking for a CS:GO role other than 10manner : (

  7. I know this is my own thread, but I thought I might as well say this-

When you have population events/days, don't base the event off of the "host's" schedule. Make the events start at times where we can get the most population. In other words, don't start the events in the middle of the day when people are either at work/in school (depending on the time of year). Think about where the majority of our player base is (U.S./Canada), then think "what is the best time to bring in players?"

Also, I know we already have quite a few @able roles in the Discord, but you should think of adding some server specific/division specific roles for people to sign up for. That way we can eliminate the whole "no one is on the server, so I guess I'll just go AFK and hope that more people will join until we have an actual population" snooze fest. @virr

I believe I already hinted at the fact that we should be advertising our server in the OP, but the higher-ups should maybe think of ways that we can spread the word about the community. I know there are websites for Minecraft servers where it ranks communities/servers and does a pretty good job of getting our name out there. Maybe there's something similar to that, but for GMOD/CS:GO/TF2?

Jailbreak should have the weekend slot for surf considering more people need to play jailbreak to make it fun then Csgo

You confused me for a second there, but yeah, jailbreak should probably take the weekend slot over surf because more people = more fun on jailbreak. Most people have work Monday-Friday, so it would be hard to plan around that.

  9. I didn't really ask anyone to see if this thread would be necessary, but at this point I think I speak for everyone when I say the servers are more or less deserted. This is mainly just a way to get the process going so we can repopulate the Jailbreak and Minigames servers we all had some good times on. If you have any suggestions for ways to bring in new players and bait previous players to coming back and staying, leave them here.

Currently, in the TF2 division at least, they hold regular populate events (the specifics of which I never really bothered to remember because I really don't enjoy that game anymore, but that's beside the point). The only problem I can see with these populate events is that they don't really last because the servers never retain their population for an extended period of time. That isn't to say they aren't effective to at least some degree, but I highly doubt it's the only thing we can do to bring people to our servers. Do we go with a more "aggressive" advertisement strategy? Do we just keep to ourselves and hope that when we do our populate events that our large player count will attract more members? Both? Whatever your suggestion is, it would most likely be appreciated by the higher-ups and anyone trying to get the servers up and running again.

Note: this isn't just for the CS division, if you have any suggestions for TF2 or something that could apply to both, anything would be appreciated. : )
