  2. So here's a recap on what I think is left.

The server message seems good to go and just needs mild communicating to manage from here. One thing though, @virr

You did ask rhodo about shorter links so they could be used for this, so did anything come of that? The message is good atm but shortening it up would be nice too.

The credits seem easy to add, whenever either of you @Vexx @mrnutty12 can do this just state so in the update thread and there shouldn't be anything else to worry about.

Anything at all with the objective server nutty? Virr mentioned setting up something to lay out everything that still needs to be done, which it would probably be a good starting point and make a to do list. If you two were going to get together for this at all it would be best to have this list at the ready beforehand.

Which leaves ff2/playpoints.  We have our three apperant options starting with war3 which Im even more against after looking over the details. With one race/class being able to achieve 25% damage done back as health, 25% faster movement speed, and 50% lower gravity it seems just a tad bit overpowered on just one player. Nutty did mention possibly removing the leveling/experience system which would at least lower these numbers a bit, but looking at a lot of these powers the whole plugin just isn't even made for ff2 (most talking about their use against multiple enemies and some only having effect after an enemy is killed). All of it just seems way too overkill for something that is supposed to be a sidegrade to the boss fights of the server.

Customweapons3 seems like it could be the best replacement of having cool and unique uses, but would deffinitly be the hardest to get set up since you'd need to build any options from scratch.

Tf2items would probably in contrast be the easiest option since we already have a plugin that can be used with some adjustments according to bone and the setup for the attributes would be easy to add or adjust as needed.

Also need to discuss custom titles with how they work, currently people can pay $5 and basically get infinite titles as all they need to do is have it changed my someone with access to hub. I would like to propose we allow infinite changes on custom hub titles for 48 hours, and after that they must buy another title if they want another.

This is something I know became an issue a few months ago, but I thought it got resolved among @virr and Rhodo. If i'm not mistaken, the way it's supposed to work now is that any changes to a custom title are $2.50 each, though I personally figured it should be even lower then that.

  5. +1

You used to have very mild temperament issues when you would get frustrated over simple matters from what I recall, but you don't really cause anything too terrible and seem to clearly understand the rules. Not too bad of a guy.

@Lithium has made it so every new player starts with 250 credits on csgo, and has also given all current games 250 as well. Would this be something you guys would be interested in? Keep in mind that its a lot easier to get credits in tf2 compared to csgo.

Sure, lets set it at 500 credits. This would let players get a single chat/title color or cheap title right away, regardless of it being easier to get credits it would still be beneficial to let people get something right away instead of being turned away at the prospect of having to grind for them.

    13 hours ago, virr said:

Secondly, how would you guys suggest handling donator powers on the objective server? I could see us just not adding them and just going with hub, but im open to ideas from you guys. Let me know pls.

I'm not too sure how we should approach this just yet. We should definitely add them right away and treat them normally like nutty said, but I do think people are going to want the server to have an actual focus on playing then just screwing around. I'm thinking something along the lines of how it is treated in ff2, where everyone is expected to "play your part" which does make a lot more of the fun commands useless, but that doesn't prevent us from having donor powers available. The different approach to expectations just makes their uses more restricted.

  7. The tf2 higher ups have decided to not give @OneGlove the position of mod at this time.

    Note:

    Activity requirements
The activity equirement has been reverted to a set time of 14 hours biweekly. The higherups decided that leaving it up to "be as active as you can" left too much gray area, and they believe that the staff prefer set hours

As for plugins, I don't know if there are any plugins out there for auto scrambling teams, but that would be nice to have in the event of a complete roll.

A forced team scramble of some kind to happen every couple rounds is something I'd like to see worked out myself. I shot the idea around awhile ago, though i'm not 100% how it would work yet, if it even could.

  10. Alongside playpoints for now, does anyone think we should remove machine slapping right away? The vote for it didn't have a strong majority but not many people voted in the first place. I'd say keep it for now since there isn't too much complaining against it right now and it just seems boring to make options even more limited (hyper heavy or nothing).

  11. I'll try to take a look at some of them when I can though we are going to try and stick to more stock esque maps and nothing too outlandish. Don't be afraid to suggest anything though, if enough people want to push something we can try to work it out (this is why I want to stress feedback on others suggestions).

Also while map requests are nice and easy this is for any kind of suggestions you may have. Be it shorter or longer round times, maps you don't want to see like suijin or goldrush, or even certain plugins and details such as bhop (this is an example. We aren't adding bhop. That would be dumb.)

  12. So this may come as a surprise to people, but the objective based stock rotation server that was claimed to be started on months ago does actually exist and is still being worked on. Work did come to a standstill due to issues with plugins (I won't claim to know the full story) and the whole project was just swept under the rug, but now hopefully it can be revitalized and polished to be more properly completed. As it stands there are details being worked out, and the map pool will be based on those from the Payload, King of the Hill, and 5cp gamemodes.

For those who remember the votes that were being done for what to be done with the server, others were planned but I scrapped them so polls wouldn't get too convoluted. Instead, This thread will exist for people to voice on details that they would like to see on the servers so we can get a better idea just what everyone would like. So do shout out anything you would like to see and give feedback on what others have suggested.

Previous threads for those interseted- here and here

  13. On Extended Mutes

Due to many recent complaints about not being sure when it is appropriate to use longer mute/gag times on someone, i'll explain when staff should be trying to or not to make one in favor of a harsher punishment. Beforehand though, it is important to explain that the purpose of being able to do this is give staff more flexibility in responding to a situation so they may find a solution that best addresses it. The whole of this is rather open ended, but hopefully will give clarity about it and allow our staff to be more confident.

    • An extended mute/gag can be used when someone is breaking chat related rules but is not doing so in purposeful manner. This would revolve around situations such as where someone may have a poor quality microphone, unintentionally spamming, or causing trouble due to a lack of understanding on their part (such as if they are notably younger, but in the end not trying to make the server worse).
    • An extended mute/gag should not be used when someone is breaking rules intentionally and or maliciously. If someone is mic spamming music, being toxic, or trying to incite issues there is no good in being lenient to them  and it sets a better example for the server to make it clear such behavior is not tolerated.
    • Further more, an extended mute should never be made for longer then one full day. If the problem persists afterwards, it is far more suitable to move on to other punishment. While it may not seem favorable to have to ban someone who's intentions were not overall malicious to anyone or the server as a whole, people do need to take responsibility for their own actions and learn to exercise greater caution on their own end. For instance, if someone has a terrible mic and needs to be constantly muted for it then they need to eventually either fix it or refrain from using it.

Absolutely not, but you can't expect me to check this thread every time I'm on the forums expecting a reply. Usually the forum notification system has been pretty helpful with notifying me of replies, but lately everything here is a mess.

Of course that's not how you are viewing it, but it is how it's coming off. I'll keep the DM part in mind in the future though it's been more then a little frustrating feeling like I have to hound people down to get replies to these things here. The overall point though is i'm asking you to make a more distinct effort  on your end with sorting all of this out.

    14 minutes ago, Vexx said:

I've heard this before, only from Kypari. People who say this have never really talked to me, probably only said something to me on the servers to which I replied pretty blandly because I'm probably doing something else. I'm not exactly the most extroverted person, but I do definitely care about what most people say to me.

It's been a few people who have expressed it with me, and it was over them trying to talk to you about things more directly apparently, not just an odd comment on said once on the servers. I certainly know it's not easy to be outgoing a lot of the time, but I really believe this impression of not being approachable you are giving people is something you need to strongly work on.

That aside, how would you guys feel about a separate thread on the objective rotation server and the mute/ban discussions? I feel like those can easily reach a couple pages each and it would be good once we reach a conclusion to easily find it and not have to wade through several pages of other issues

I don't reeeally think we need one for the extended mutes though if we are going to disagree on it greatly then perhaps, but on top of how set I feel about my opinion for it and that pretty much everyone I've explained it to like that has accepted it (probably almost everyone but nutty) I don't really think it should be necessary.

With the rotation server though, if we did decide to try and boot it I was already planning on making another thread. The reason for it is both to get people excited again, but also to ask people for what extra details they might want. To reiterate what I've said for it, I think it should be just Payload, king of the hill, and 5cp maps/gamemodes based on how the vote for that went and we should try to add a forced team scramble to avoid stacking. Alongside those details we need plugins sorted out, but after that I don't think we have any ideas for more details to refine it, or at least none anyone has mentioned yet. That's what the thread would be focused on, what people might want to see out of it.

  16. One thing I left aside, mostly because I want to work on my own opinion for ff2 before being too rash about it.

    19 hours ago, virr said:

Maybe its a good thing as some people have been complaining about hales winrate a bit ?

Has there been a significant amount of this? @mrnutty12 might know peoples opinions more but the only single person I've seen with this complaint was lan, who has such a hate boner for any alt game modes that he becomes entirely unreasonable in his opinions of them and just complains about anything. Sure everyone's opinions matter, but his really shouldn't when he is such an incredibly extreme and rare outlier.

  17. 14 hours ago, virr said:

What i would like us to do however, if we do remove the command, that we find a replacement. Getting gimped on something you have paid for is really poopty without any sort of compensation. I feel like it is something we should discuss if we do decide to move further with it.

I am very much in agreement on adding something if we are going to take something away like this and wanted to do so for nofall, and while I do think keeping an eye open for new donor powers is always something good to be looking at it shouldn't be necessary in this case. There are what, three other message commands that can be used? If we all agree it should be removed, we should go ahead with doing so regardless of having something to make up for it just yet.

    14 hours ago, virr said:

If you are gonna have to mute someone for over a day(or something) why not just give them a lesser ban?

On the note of this, assuming we go through with expressing them like me, virr, and vexx have all pretty much said, what are opinions on also keeping people from making extended mutes too long regardless of reason in the first place? More directly, how about we tell people they should never make one for longer then a day, and should always move to other punishment in such of situation.

    8 hours ago, Vexx said:

I've wanted to rid playpoints for a while, seems a bit unbalanced for the FF2 game mode, there's other ways of making the players stand more of a chance against the boss.

Removing it is pretty much where we are at already, we need to focus on what we are going to replace it with right now.

    8 hours ago, mrnutty12 said:

    Because the vote got 70%...

Gosh dern it I talked to you about how the vote shouldn't be taken directly when it's about such a significant change. Vexx did word it pretty perfectly though as to what I think on that matter.

    8 hours ago, mrnutty12 said:

I do try to at least give a solid +1 or -1 with what I say in promo/demo talk. Sorry if I missed a few. ?

Really there's nothing wrong with being neutral or not strongly inclined either way for someone simply because you don't know them well enough, BUT building on that, that creates the point we ought to try and get ourselves a clearer idea on them through the means virr explained.

    8 hours ago, mrnutty12 said:

Oh yeah, a few staff have brought up that mods should get noclip since it helps out a lot in dealing with naughty people. I don't think it is particularly necessary for mods to have, but I think it is worth talking about. Thoughts?

I also agree with Vexx on this. While I have thought noclip and god mode/buddha could help our mods a lot, how easy they are to abuse is fairly important.

    8 hours ago, Vexx said:

And "calling me out" wasn't necessary, I've already touched on most of these topics, and the forums have been such a mess lately that I've only just now got notifications.

I'm sorry, but necessary or not I do think he is plenty justified in calling you out at this point. It's been almost two weeks now since you last said anything, and it was three weeks before that when I first mentioned a few of these issues and you didn't respond at all in that time frame. Is your plan really to never get at working on what is being said or even look back on any of this until the forums tell you that you should? It's that kind of shoddy communication that is directly responsible for all these things just barely being touched up on and never actually going anywhere. Even if the forums are being more problematic for you, it's not like we don't have other ways already set up at our disposal to communicate among one another.

    8 hours ago, Vexx said:

With Promo/demo, I can't keep my eyes on everyone, and nobody ever comes to talk to me about anyone they think should become staff.

About no one coming to you about staff, i'll just flat out state you really come off as cold and unfriendly to pretty much the majority of people. People don't communicate with you because they aren't comfortable communicating with you. I've even had complaints about those that have tried to do so claiming you have very brief and unenthusiastic responses, as if you couldn't care less what they have to say to you.

In regards to the first part, I've always held the belief we higher ups should have higher standards for ourselves then for others when it comes to being active in the servers and community. Obviously this doesn't have to hold true with how things are currently ran, but doing things at a bare minimum doesn't exactly create a good image. In all of this I REALLY don't mean to be rude, but you really ought to be around servers more and especially spend time on more then just one of them. This would help a hell of a lot with taking note of potential staff members by actually getting the first hand experience with them.

  18. Why are we adding bhop before discussing it @mrnutty?? Getting this done quickly may address the issue of doing things in a timely fashion, but doing so before we actually discuss it among us fully and come to a decision (or at least a majority decision) is not being efficient in discussing these subject matters out. We should be moving forward and coming to conclusions on these as a group, not as individuals doing as we please. This is a huge part of why I think the last promo demo was so sloppy, not a single person we promoted had more then one person actually vouch positively for them (baring the many statements of "if everyone else is ok with it" which is a poopty way of going about making a decision) . This shouldn't be how we run run things to avoid one person just promoting whoever they want simply because no one else was directly opposed, and I really thought that was more obvious, but that expands to what i'm saying about taking action on decisions in general. We need to talk about these things here first, and we actually need to have opinions on them as that's the whole purpose. It doesn't matter if one of us personally is indifferent to something, we should still be making a judgement call on what we each think is the most suitable way to go about any such thing for the sake of the servers. Now actually stating an opinion and not just waiting for everyone else to is something I've struggled with myself, but am also trying to make sure I am more direct with as well.

So onto actually making these decisions then, virr had asked for us to actually organize the topics and work them out one by one, so I'll do that here so we can pick up off of it.

    -msay

I'm for removing, nutty is indifferent (which again, doesn't count lazy), @Vexx and @Vargas haven't said anything yet.

    -Bhop on Deathrun

While this can just be left as is cause I really don't believe either Vexx or Vargas are going to be opposed to it, if either of you are now is the time to state it (Mentioning it above was more about the principal of coming to a decision first then this topic in particular).

    -70% for votes

Vexx, Virr, and I are in favor of this. Nothing from Nutty or Vargas yet. (Technically a majority, so seems fair enough to go about making this official and thus announcing it in some way soon)

    -Server messages for threads/votes

I believe Nutty and I are in favor of this, Vexx is opposed, no opinion yet from Vargas.

    -Objective Server

Like I previously stated the first thing to consider here now is if we should pool time and effort into working on this server, or to put it indefinitely on the back burner.

Personally, I do think we should spend some time trying to get these server set up and out to people in a way to garnish interest and hype for it again, but we should absolutely wait until everything else on this list is sorted out.

    -Defining Extended Mutes

So I hope I've explained my thoughts on this, nutty on the other hand seems to have very much a different opinion of when they should be used, wanting them to be used in lieu of any ban (assuming it's one for chat related issues of course) while I've explained how I think it should be much more variable and dependent on the situation as I described in the staff chat.  What are your thoughts as to this Vexx/Vargas.

    -Playpoints

Last but not least, the one that might take the longest to sort out. I am still against war3, though I just want to research the option a bit more before really making a more solid decision. Otherwise, I am leaning towards just tf2 items/tf2 attributes simply as a more "safe" option, although possibly boring.
