In regards to a recent ban protest (as a quick tl;dr Supreme banned a guy for 24 hours after he commented on his profile because he got muted/gagged), we have been asked to make a statement and clarification regarding if staff are allowed to punish players for things they do outside of a server.
 
Personally, i agree with what forest says in the thread.
 

 
Staff are expected to defuse situations that occur and i feel like upping the punishment only added fuel to the fire (which is why the ban protest was made in the first place). The best course of action would have been to either block the player in question or simply just to ignore him.

If you have made threads about it or have talked to me personally about it don't think that I have just ignored you. When the server launched, there were some road bumps but for the first month or so the server went well. Then school started, the population died, and some other shit happened. Now I have a server on my hands that is nowhere near where is should be or where I want it to be and that is my fault. I don't have the time or the experience to keep the server operational all by myself, but that's not an acceptable reason for the server to be so underpopulated and broken. I will be talking to @Aegean about the future of the server, of my position, and where I think it should go. We have had a conversation before, but we really didn't go anywhere with it. I'm sorry that its gotten this far. I should have tried to fix this a while ago.

As of right now no its still up and running (relatively) but there will be discussions on what direction we want to take it. Super has been super mad busy lately. So we will talk with him when he is able too. He knows a lot more than me about minecraft.

It's time! We'll be starting at 7pm EST (6pm CST, 4pm PST, 12am CET, 11pm GMT). To be invited to the lobby, whisper me or join the lobby called "xG Community Night" through the server browser. In the event we get enough people to fill out an entire server, @Lithium will open a second lobby so everyone gets a chance to play. We will keep playing as long as there is interest and enough people to play.
 
As with all community events, this is something we do to have fun as a community, so please keep the toxicity to a minimum. Of course some trash talking is allowed and only adds to the fun but doing so excessively will get you banned from future events, so please be nice to each other. Hope to see you there <3

It appears that skill surf server's chat is screwed up entirely.
 
Essentially, if you've ever gone on a skill surf server, you'd know that if you beat maps/bonuses, you get points. Those points attribute to your rank, and as you get different ranks, you get different chat colors/tags.
 
Now this was all fine and dandy, till you guys introduced the chat colors/tags plugin. I've told both DM's, @Owl and @virr , about this bug, and it has yet to be addressed. I even messaged @Lithium about it today and he didn't even know there was a bug.
 
The bug is that if you don't own any chat colors/tags, when you type in chat, you will essentially just type as a CT/T. The colors are just default. But the bug isn't the only reason for this thread, these plugins, I feel, completely ruin the server. The whole point of going on that server is so that they can rank up, and get rewarded for doing so. But people just being able have their own custom colors/tags makes this completely obsolete. There is no reward in getting "The Nuts" and that pink chat color when you could just buy it off of the store.
 
But that's just my observation, and I've been to 90% of the NA CKSurf servers out there, literally none of them that have population use this shit. I don't know why you thought it was a good idea to add it.
