If it isn't too difficult to port an old cs:s map to cs:go, we should add parabellum (the map gkoo and snakeboyeric made). Link

DrLee reacted to diabeetus in Potential Position [title Renaming] Reshuffle
The whole "changing the positions" thing is pretty much as ideal as it could be made in my opinion. I don't know how much this has been discussed, especially after Penguin announced his resignation, but make kbraszz a Community Leader. He is by far the best candidate in the entirety of the clan for the position, and essentially the only person who I would recommend for it. While this will make it so we have an even number of CL's, it really isn't that big of a deal to me; we can just defer to the Co Leader for the tie-breaking vote in the event of an even vote (the Senate does the same thing with the Vice President). There are a couple of issues here which I'd like to quickly address. Since it appears that the staff roster is up-to-date, I'm going to use this weekend to revamp Cookie's megathread, and I'll probably use this new chain of command in it.

I'm not entirely sure how we would implement this without the referral system (maybe some kind of donator reward?). With the referral system this should be a reward for 25 friends recruited. However, this new rank (and the other ones, like New Member [which in my opinion shouldn't be a rank in the first place]) should not be included in the standard chain of command. Adding new ranks that are essentially rewards will only serve to confuse chain of command if they appear to be part of it in any way, shape or form. In my opinion, this is the only new rank that should be included, while Honorary member and New Member should be scrapped.

Additionally, I think the title of Super Member should be scrapped and replaced with titles representing the ways the title/reward was earned. If people donated for these rewards, give them the donator tag on forums/teamspeak. If someone earned the rewards through the referral system, give them a forum and teamspeak tag called "Referral Master" or something along those lines. Super Member implies that they have some kind of authority over normal members, when in actuality they really don't.

I think our forum staff is large enough currently. No matter how much staff we have, there'll always be blind spots when staff aren't able to respond to an issue immediately.

Define active. Is this in-game activity, forum activity, teamspeak activity or something else? Looking through activity logs, most of our newest members still seem to be active after getting membership, so is this rank really even needed in the first place?

Kind of unrelated, but I can start to set up tournaments for League of Legends every couple of weeks. You can submit a prized event application on Riot Games' website, which allows you to essentially host an official tournament so long as we have 8 teams or more participating (keep in mind we don't have to have all eight teams before applying, the event is open to the public and just about anyone who plays on the North American League server can participate). If our application gets approved we can set up an official date for the tournament and our event goes up on a big calendar on Riot Games' site (essentially promoting us for free to potentially thousands of people). Their website has an FAQ with the answers to basically every question about this so if you have any question I'd go check it out (link). There are recording services that can record all of the games in the tournament, so we could even make montages out of the highlights and post them on our Youtube channel (which really could use some life).

Now that CL's have powers on the Steam Group, I can start scheduling populate events. We can have one every Friday and Saturday night, and each week we'll promote a different server. One week it could be Saxton Hale, the next week it could be CS:GO Jailbreak, etc. Since CS:GO Jailbreak is now (basically) up and running, I was going to schedule an event for later today (and probably tomorrow as well) in order to help populate the server. We could do contests with rewards for the winners (hub points, I guess it's dependent on the server, maybe it could be something simple like a TS group). This would be pretty simple, like trivia contests or rewards for people with the highest frags at the end of each map rotation, etc. Also, at the very least all DL's should be given moderator powers on the steam group, possibly even all the DM's as well.

DrLee got a reaction from Rabid in Xg - Active Management And Dead Divs
I've had about 100 hours or so in our TF2 Servers over the course of a year or so. I wouldn't call myself active in that division, but it is a decent amount time spent in it for a game I do (generally) dislike. I spend my fair amount of time in our scrim servers (Csgo) and our overall teamspeak.

What makes you say this? Co-leader may have held such a power, but community leaders do not. Community leaders are supposed to moderate the forums, handle certain situations such as abuse/higher up problems, and teamspeak issues. CL's have their bounds as do DL's, DM's, ect. Or this was how it was operated before the leader position was removed, now I have no idea.

But I do agree when the CL interaction with the TF2 is minimal, for one reason or another. I feel if the TF2 community held more events I'd interact quite a bit more. I've joined whenever I knew the TF2 members just created the Slender server and needed people, but I've never been the type to hang out. Maybe that's my own fault. :(

Alright. We gotta stop doing PMs to discuss stuff like this. But frankly I gotta be honest. I don't have an opinion about this whole thing, and it's extremely annoying at this point.

We should have discussed this in the admin discussion, and next time I get a PM discussion something about the clan, it's going here since I don't wanna isolate anyone, and it's better we have many people discussion than only a few.

I'm sick of hearing people threatening to leave if we do one thing, it's exhausting. I don't know how to vote on this at all.

DrLee reacted to diabeetus in Vector - Team Fortress 2
First things first, it should be discussed with ALL community leaders, not just nom and silence. I don't know why the ban was changed pre-empively, it looks like someone just wants to see Vector permed in my opinion.

Additionally, these secret conversations are kinda dumb. If you have something to say, especially if it involves something that was as disputed as Vector's ban, use admin discussion. We aren't a secret society, be more transparent about community issues. All higher-ups deserve to have easy access to all major community discussions.

Lastly, I'd like some more info about what's happening in this conversation. Was there an open debate about the status of Vector's ban, or was it leaning more towards a forceful imposition of one viewpoint. Screencaps of the conversation would be greatly appreciated (sent via steam or in a thread in admin discussion).

I don't know what xG would be like if Vector was never here. Not gonna lie.

When I first joined, Vector was one of the main dudes I went to with questions and concerns. He was one of the biggest supporters of me initially getting Mod and eventually Admin that I can recollect. He stood up for me when I was going through the ranks and actually gave a shit about me. I consider Vector a friend.

I've never had any issues with Vector on a personal level. There are very few times we have ever actually disagreed about anything, and when we did disagree about something, we were quick to bump heads and resolve our issues, and get right back to work on whatever we were working on.

Vector was always one to handle things a bit more brash than others, but he never slacked in his duties and always made sure rules were being enforced. It wasn't until I became a DM that I even really ever had any sway over what Vector was doing in our clan, and when it happened, I was bombarded by an overwhelming rush of complaints about how he handled things. Perhaps it was just my new responsibilities that meant I'd eventually have to deal with the issue, or maybe it just came with the job, but the inevitable fallout of Vector being banned happened, and I am still very mixed on that decision.

But here we are now. Vector is here, protesting the ban, showing us all that he still very much cares about this clan. The very clan that cast him out, told him that he was unwanted, that he was a jerk and a butt...he still cares about this clan. He still wants to be apart of this community, even after everything that has happened.

I can't say I'd feel very much like sticking around a clan that did that to me, even if I was or was not in the wrong. The moment something like that happened, I would have been out of that clan in a heartbeat and never turned back. It takes a hell of a lot of drive to stick around a place like that, especially if a majority of the members made it perfectly clear that you were not welcome.

Well, I say "Fuck it" to all of that nonsense and will give my +1 to the unban. I'm not advocating a reinstatement of admin privileges or an immediate addition to the moderation team or anything, but if Vector can humble himself enough to say "I fucked up and want to make amends." and still show that he actually gives a damn about our community, I say we give him the benefit of the doubt and welcome him back.

I can't speak for everyone, and I know that a lot of those who have already posted in this thread have made it evidently clear that you dislike Vector, but me....I'm a forgive and forget kind of guy. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me, you know?

    Just my two cents.

    tl:dr I +1 the unban.

I read this initially and then didn't stay up to date on this. In all reality, the owner of the main COMMUNITY channel is in charge. If there's any issues you need to bring it up with the channel owner. Silence and myself talked about how community rooms work, and it's not in our control. Nobody can modify or punish people's behaviour for a community channel. If it's an official channel, it's different. The only time any of us higher ups can intervene is when there's kick/ban/command abuse that shouldn't happen.

I'm not one for eloquent long posts so this'll be short. While I expect some arguing between staff members (not everyone can get along all the time) but behavior like this is simply unacceptable. A member of xG (let alone a staff member) displaying such poor and blatantly awful behavior such as this will not be tolerated under any circumstances. I don't care if the two of you (Chickenpanda and Bello) don't see exactly eye-to-eye, but this is ridiculous. If I (or any other of the CL's) see such terrible behavior again, there will be immediate consequences.

EDIT: due to conversation restrictions I decided to post this in admin discussion instead of in a conversation. Those who can, please pass this message on to Chickenpanda and Bello.

DrLee got a reaction from Dethman in Hachi As Division Manager
Hachi, in the past, has reacted immaturely, so this is why I'm partially stuck. Even if it has been a long time, she still exhibits behavior which is...questionable. She seems very off-coming to me as a person and as someone who's going to be interacting with new-comers as a higher up. I don't mean this in the chrono way, I mean this as in, "CLs decide to do ____" and she tells us all to 'shut up' and to stop talking for about a month straight whenever we enter the channel. The word for this may be bitter, even if it isn't meant to come off this way. This was about two months ago during the Vector thing, I personally don't care about that now, it just seems like she's the kind of person to react like that in many situations.
Hachi is someone I've come to know for about a year and a half, and I've seen many downs and lows of her behavior. Despite all of this, it is my belief that she is fine. Keep the egotism low and we'll be okay. Just because you have a purple star doesn't mean you can suddenly act superior to anyone else. Anyone who says something negative to you in the future should be taken as criticism and should be received maturely. I don't suspect you'd respond badly, but just a friendly reminder, don't. :) I hope you'll appreciate the opinions of other higher ups and the CLs that you may now 'work' with and anything they have to say about you. You will be on a short leash considering past behavior, and I hope the other CL's feel similarly.
