  1. remember me? arminarmout, davepeta, darkness chan, whatever
just going on a nostalgia trip at the moment what a wild ride this was

man this community really was such a huge stepping stone in my life even if i was only like 12 when i first joined in 2013 and  i was 14 when i got mod haha
i will always remember the connections i got here and i always think about all the great times i had on JB and TGH over years whenever tf2 comes up
looking back on these forums is such a wave of nostalgia

you guys were actually the first people i ever came out to as trans back in 2015, since i felt so comfortable here and stuff
still on shit terms with my parents sadly lol but college is going well

anyway have this funny meme from my favorite games (mgs2 best)

do you still hate jontron ?

i mean, as a person i think he's stupid but as a youtuber he's funny

im not super into jontron anymore anyways, i got banned from the jontron server i was in so it kind of drifted away

i still watch his videos when they come out every other year

  3. Hi, its me davepeta/armin/whatever

theres a lot of catching up to do, first i should start out with that my personality has changed a lot since i was last playing, im now a huge weeb and dont really care what people say to me. i was offline off of steam for a year lol.

the big part is that im still a tranny, and i came out to my parents around the same time i left. i got into a car accident and was perfectly fine, but it gave me the courage to tell them. we got into a huge fight and it didnt go well, and it still hasnt for them a year and a half(almost) later.

    confession time:

I'm 16, I lied about my age when I first joined to get mod.  which means i would have been 13 when I first joined and that same age when I got modded, and 15 when I left. its why my birthday is at 8/20/1900. (really was 8/20/2001) i should have said that after i stepped down, to be honest.

so i guess clocktown got updated, and tf2 looks weird as fudge now

ill be playing tf2 and using discord i guess, i know that we didnt have a discord server before but maybe we do now.

    they added JOJO hats though.

    thats me, hbu

    discord: Darkness-chan#6584 (best girl)

  4. So after playing tf2 for almost 4 years, I'm finally getting burnt out. I'm just not having fun playing it anymore, and my activity really has gone down. Every time I go on the servers now it feels like a chore and I'm just doing it to log hours, and not enjoying it. So I'm stepping down. I've been a mod for a year and 1/2+ and I've been playing on the servers for even longer but I'm getting tired of tf2 now and would rather do other stuff, and school is a thing too. I've met a lot of a cool people when I've been here and it's time to say goodbye.

  5. Server:

    Tf2 jailbreak #1

    Bug or Suggestion?:

    Bug

    What is your bug/suggestion?:

If you use the rocket jumper on BLU team it gives you a stock rocket launcher with a 60 ammo clip (like the rocket jumper) with full ammo and can still do the same damage as a stock rocket launcher. This could easily be abused for guards.

  6. i just came back from san francisco and pokemon go there is awesome

they're doing a beta test there that has an actual working "nearby" that shows you pokemon near pokestops instead of just grass

not to mention theres like 500 pokestops and lures are on all the time, i went from 0 pokeballs to 200 in 2 hours

I also got this awesome gyardos from magikarps at the lures at the pier

and this is my new eevee team for gym takeovers (the favorited ones)

  7. rip pokemon go, ingress players were right about niantic

they had a bunch of glitches that they never fixed on launch, then in the 1st week all the steps were broken.... so they decided to remove steps entirely.

they also removed xp coming from pokeball throws and egg distances are fucked up.

they shut poke vision down which was made just to help players, so hunting for pokemon is now just walking around blind, hoping you find something.

tweet from a poke vision dev:

but with the new update, my battery life has been amazing!

it turns out the game uses much less battery when you aren't playing

  8. here's a rant a found on reddit that states my opinions on the game pretty well recently

Yeah, frankly, after about a week of playing and being level 22... I'm starting to lose interest already. The game is very shallow and there really isn't much to it. The biggest problem is the combat system. Anything would have been better than what we have now, I don't understand why they didn't just keep a turn based combat, it couldn't have been any worse than the "spam tap" combat we have right now.

The balancing of city vs. nature is horrendous, there is no reason to ever go out into nature because there's practically no pokemon and stops there. The game should reward you for getting out there, it's Pokemon GO, right? But it feels more like Pokemon SIT at many times because of how efficient it is to go downtown and sit on top of 3 permalured pokestops which handily also give you all the balls you need to keep going.

The servers are awful and they haven't fixed the 3 footprint problem in like four days now. Balance is also completely wack, water as a type is broken OP as shown by most of the top tier pokemon being water type, especially the ones carrying water gun. Meanwhile some types such as fighting are almost unusably bad.

All in all I'm just wondering "Why am I still doing this?" and the only answer I can come up with is to get stronger pokemon so I can better fight gyms.... but the combat system is just that bad and I find it hard to even care about the gyms considering how easy it is to take them back, attackers are favored very, very heavily, there isn't even a cooldown on attacking a gym.

I don't know, I appreciate what this game did in terms of bringing people together, getting them out there (even if it's just into town and not into nature) and having everyone socialize a bit while getting fresh air.

But in the end it's a very shallow experience with bad gameplay at its core and I don't see the addition of 1v1 duels with friends or trading helping this really. I'm now looking forward to Sun and Moon again, if nothing else the game sure made me lust for another full Pokemon game again after skipping ORAS.
