I'm just sick of seeing people in this clan devolve threads within 3-4 posts by being as absolutely as toxic to one another about THE ABSOLUTE DUMBEST SHIT ON THE PLANET. It's a chatbind, so what? Alright, I understand it can be annoying, but is it really boiling people's piss to see a lenny face every now and then?

Would be simple to make an server plugin that automatically gags the person for repetitively using the same message. Also, there's an anti-flood plugin which comes with sourcemod which enforces an set delay between chat messages. The sm_flood_time cvar can be increased to enforce an higher delay to combat key bindings. One second usually works good instead of the default 0.75 seconds.

yah yah, just let people spam chat all they want while admins are offline. Like who cares right? Someone can just pop on an key binding and start advertising their server so fast and frequently that it overpowers everyone else. (at an rate of 1 chat message per second)

Deleted a whole lot of bullshit from this thread, Higher Ups can determine whether or not it was necessary, but for the love of god, all of you take a chill pill. You're right, if I had left the clan, cashed out of tf2, and hated playing the game. I wouldn't fucking be here being active, I would have no reason to be. The fact that you're still here claiming to care about the servers after going through all of that trouble to prove how bad tf2 is, it's honestly funny. exactly why should I bother? why should I bother offering plausible ideas to make the servers more mature and welcoming? if you so insist on wanting to see embarrassing keybinds go ahead. Maybe you should rename the trade servers to something else as well since right now its falsely flagged as a trade server. I have sold 2 things there since I started cashing out and it was to the same god damn guy! You may see me "being salty" on the servers because when I was a mod I was the only person to give a damn about keeping the chat family friendly and keeping the spam at bay, now all I see is discussion of porn and other mature subjects, constant insulting to others and just not a very welcoming place to play at. I can direct you to rules 5,6,7 and 11 from the original general rules thread by Silence. 5. No trolling whatsoever. Verbally attacking a person will get you banned. 6. Keep all language PG- 13 on the servers, forum, and Teamspeak. *You will not be kicked/slayed/banned for cussing. However, if you are doing it excessivly to troll or abuse someone it will have repercussions. 7. Do not bring up or make remarks to political stances, religions, leaders, nations, or touchy subjects. 11. Racism and sexism is frowned upon in our servers, using it excessively or in an insulting manner is not allowed at all. IF a mod or higher warn you to stop (by gagging, muting or simply messaging you) , you must stop. This is the first and only warning you get and it must be in this manner. If you do say something racist or sexist, it must be very minimal and not in an offensive way and if not stopped after a warning, you will be punished severely. The person these comments are directed too and any staff member can at any time state that these are offensive and you must stop immediately. The chat is never PG 13, theres always somebody insulting somebody else, I've seen religious debates which has led to one person being ridiculed for his beliefs, I constantly see the N word thrown around like its nothing regardless of if there is a black person playing the server, I would not blame him for leaving and not returning, I would do the same. I am so sorry I cared for the servers that are quite frankly dying with my oh no amazing idea of trying to keep the chat mature. So sorry I keep coming here trying to partake in discussion and offering ideas even after leaving xG. I don't know why I bother. I suppose I am more loyal than I make out but nobody seems to agree with any ideas I bring up so its no longer my concern what happens to the servers. Quite sick of the immature nature of the whole TF2 community and I can't even get away from it on the only servers I play, the xG ones. It's like an infectious disease that just won't stop infecting every little part of the game I used to love. Perhaps we should just ban spawn camping to make the servers better, oh wait that already worked. so maybe you should read that before you slam your caps lock at me @Moosty because I can guarantee if you were in my shoes you would not have near the forum activity I have nor would you give a damn about the servers on a game you don't enjoy anymore. @Bach @kbrazz may close this and I can say for sure this is the last thread I am making except my upcoming raffle threads. I'm going to bed I have school and don't have time caring for these servers anymore. Edit: Past being tired and in a bad mood the only other games I play with a community are WoW and hko. hko has strict rules and always full of friendly people and no swears, WoW while bad with the occasional guy tends to have a friendly community too. I don't know I just dislike communities full of immature swearing and insulting, I rarely swear myself and just feel out of place in such a place, used to ignore it when I played TF2 a lot but now it really stands out and it's hard to ignore.

Instead of proposing a rule that targets specific usage, I suggest proposing one that involves an additional general rule of spam that will apply to all Servers. For example: "Do not spam in chat. Any [same] messages that are used consecutively three or more times is considered spam. Alternatively, any [same] messages that are spammed within 5(?) seconds of each use is also considered spam." This is a more realistic rule that more people can agree on.

Well, i'm sorry. I think that I should at least try one more time, In desperation to fulfill my dream of becoming a part of this great community. Its just that this is a great place, and I would feel incomplete without getting member. I've looked at many groups, and none of them come close to being as good at this. If my last chance, my final struggle to get member fails, then that is the end.

I'll make this short and sweet. This rule is TEMPORARY. A test run. As @Vector brought up (after large amounts of cussing and arguing) this has happened before. Just another test run before @kbraszzz, myself and the other staff find a more permanent solution. We can all hate it until we're blue in the face, but we ARE trying to put things in the right direction. Change takes time.

Alright, I made a conversation with the CL's so we can figure out a scenario where i'm not being ridiculed for being an impoverished college student that can't always afford food. I actually have had to go to a homeless shelter to eat before and her telling me to go beg at a homeless shelter and calling me a tramp isn't a joke. It's not funny or cool or whatever. This isnt a case where we need to just calm down and stop arguing, this has escalated into a real issue for me. I don't feel comfortable with this continuing. I'm fucking done with it.

I'm so glad I quit TF2 and I'm looking forward to Overwatch. It's a newer game with better graphics and a better engine so it's gonna be way better than crappy TF2. My sig is one of the classes. Female classes :p
