    Forum Game #4

Finish My- Incoming Challenger! Just kidding, it's the fourth Forum Game (you can find the other three Here, Here and Here respectively). Since the last one bombed due to a serious lack of imagination, ingenuity and overall abundance of laziness (compliments to those who participated!), this forum game will be far less difficult to participate in. So easy, that I won't even provide an example because that is how confident I am in saying that this game is so incredibly easy that even the fine folk at xG couldn't possibly mess it up (though I've been wrong before..). What you may have gathered from the title of this particular thread is that it's missing a word, ideally this word would be "sentence" but because of the very nature of this game, it can be whatever you want it to be. Yes, that's right, I will start with a sentence, however the last word will be missing. It is up to you to finish my sentence (or extend it), and to provide your own sentence/blurb for the next person to post to finish/extend. The hopes of this game is to have a nice [long] story (that will hopefully continue to expand) crafted by you fine Members and Non-Members. IMPORTANT STUFF. For the purposes of this game, we're going to do without quotes otherwise it'll get pretty messy, so please copy and paste the sentence you are finishing into your post. You can choose to make it stand out so you can tell the posts apart (either with text colour, font, etc), but it isn't necessary. Other rules include the following: Please start a new line when adding onto the story [hit 'Enter']. The story will continue after the hyphen (-) that you will leave. Refrain from typing out a large chunk of text, keep it short and sweet. .. On second thought, I'm going to leave an example. Can't trust y'all (where Blue is initial post, Green is second post, Red is third post, Purple is fourth post, Yellow is fifth post): [spoiler=Example] Initial Post: Once upon a time there was a- Second Post: Once upon a time there was a- Forest that was promptly cut down because- Third Post: Once upon a time there was a- Forest that was promptly cut down because- There was a shortage of paper in the massive corporation called- Fourth Post: Once upon a time there was a- Forest that was promptly cut down because- There was a shortage of paper in the massive corporation called- Xeno Gamers. Let's also refrain from turning this thing into an erotic novel, shall we? Play responsibly fellow Xeno Gamers :coffee: (note: if anyone derails it, just continue off of the last legitimate post. 5. I'm sorry to be the one to say this, but no matter where you go, you are going to be disliked regardless of whether you want to be or not. That being said, it isn't about you personally; what I mean is that anyone anywhere will be disliked by someone. I'm sure there's a handful of people who dislike me, just as I'm sure there is a handful of people who dislike someone like @Chrono or anyone else for that matter. Point being that, you shouldn't let that sort of thing sway how much you enjoy playing on a particular Server unless literally 90% of the players on it just really don't like you, in which case there isn't much that can be done. With all that in mind, if you are continuously being harassed by a Member of Xeno Gamers (or by a regular or a group of players), please do not hesitate to report it to a Higher-Up so that the situation can be defused; though I will remind you that this is the Internet and you'll most likely be harassed in some way or form at one point or another and there isn't much that can be done about it as it is the very nature of confronting random, faceless people. I also wouldn't recommend making threads like this, as it just pulls in negative attention that you really don't want. Trust me when I say that the vast majority of people will just berate or flame someone for posting a thread like this. It isn't up to the Members/Players of Xeno Gamers to decide whether you should leave or not, it's a choice you have to make for yourself. No one will make it for you :coffee:
  6. Mini Games Server would be cool beans, though my input on the matter is pretty irrelevant since I haven't touched CS:GO in ages :coffee:

It's time to move on, just leave this thread be. There's nothing wrong with Forum games 2 or 3 and besides, four is on its way.
  8. Guys, come on, you're lengthening an already lengthy Ban Request with this sort of stuff. Just makes it that much worse for any Higher-Up to sift through for any related content or posts. That being said, @Chrono @Lithium @Bleed pages 3 and 4 are irrelevant to the Ban Request (page 3 consists of an argument between Staff and the offending player [no relevance to the ban], page 4 consists of mentions and irrelevant joking).

  11. It's an incredibly gray area for a lot of players, which is why I mentioned that he isn't wrong, but also isn't right. A large portion of Jailbreak Servers follow an invisible golden rule (even we do without knowing it) in that you don't do things that the Warden didn't tell you to do. It's a staple that every Server inadvertently follows, regardless of whether it is or isn't included in a set of rules. For instance; if a Warden instructs Ts to the bottom of the cell stairs, then by instinct we will all assume that if they get there and proceed to run up and down the stairs, they aren't following orders, and therefore should be killed. The Ts will argue that the Warden didn't say that they should freeze at the bottom of cell stairs, but the intention that they be at the bottom of the cell stairs until the next order is inadvertently implied. This can be applied to the scenario with the table as well in that they weren't explicitly told to stay off the tables, but it's implied that they shouldn't as it wasn't the Warden's explicit orders. Again, I'm not condoning this sort of stuff so much as I am just bringing to light what an annoyance it can be to moderate it for Staff. If I'm looking too deep into things, so be it, but I still think that "nazi wardening" should either be something mentioned in the rules or that it be written down somewhere so that these sort of things (unclear/fluctuating punishments for 'nazi wardening') can be prevented in the future. Though to be honest, this is just the CS:S in me, which may not be a good thing :coffee:
  12. Teeeechnically it isn't. He isn't wrong, but that doesn't make him right. This is just a classic case of 'nazi wardening' which in itself isn't technically breaking the rules. It sort of falls into the category of tarping, if anything. Personally, I don't think that this sort of stuff should be allowed, and if it is, it should be one of those things that can only go into effect after a certain period of time, much like Simon Says, though that's up to the discretion of the Higher-Ups. That being said, I don't think he should be permanently CT banned, but if he is going to be punished for this sort of thing, it's worth noting that nazi wardening should be clarified on whether it's against the rules or if it can only be done at a certain time.
  13. Relevant to this thread, but also applying to the general population of Staff Submissions, there seems to be this misconception that the period of time between a Staff submission and the next promo/demo is sufficient activity enough. It isn't really in my place, and I'm in no position to really be talking, but do keep in mind that when referring to activity, it's activity over the course of an extended period of time both in and outside of the Staff submission taking place. What I mean by this is simply that someone could go hard over the course of say, a week, up until the next Promo/Demo. Activity looks promising, so he/she ends up being promoted. The problem here is that once that person has been promoted, they may no longer feel obligated to have that activity remain consistent with the time they put into the Server prior to being promoted. My suggestion [to any applicants] is to just play whenever you have the time to do so, don't spruce up your application with so-and-so amount of hours that you only put in to gain their (Higher-Ups) attention or otherwise wouldn't put that much effort into moderating to begin with. The only thing achieved out of putting a large amount of hours in is demonstrating that you have a lot of free time, thereby making you a target if you happen to be "inactive" (which will differentiate between Staff). When you put a lot of hours in say, a week (that you normally don't do), what this says about you is "Hey, I'm super active in this Division and I plan on being this active after receiving a Staff position too." Obviously this doesn't apply to those who genuinely play such and such hours weekly, but more-so to those who claim to be active when they're simply proving that they can be. The biggest distinction here is that a [staff] Member should be active, not can be active. Indifferent to this submission otherwise, just wanted to throw that out there :coffee:
  14. I literally have 0 preference as I've only ever been on the TF2 Jailbreak Server once (and it was full of screaming youngins) but I would assume giving anyone on Blue side a class that is intended to cause collateral damage would be a bad idea purely because of the nature of the class itself.
