I'm gonna say -1 unless he did it outside of the educational usage.... since I at one point considered installing a wallhack so I could monitor wallhacking (tho the one I considered was designed to only work while spectate)... never did cause i was too afraid of getting vac banned lolol...
I believe the spirit of the "no cheating" rule(which is the one that applies to hacking/aimbots) is using such things to cheat, abuse, annoy.... if all he was doing was checking it out so it would be easier to watch out for, I don't feel he should be punished... if anyone has any evidence that he was abusively using it in any way then by all means, share it and I might change my vote on this...
If he's evading bans anywhere, ban the other accounts for the same amount of time as per the rules of the clan, and/or possibly extend his bans if it continues to happen.

played alpha and beta and was a sub for first 6 months of game, can honestly say it went pretty far down the toilet even before it went f2p. it had promise and hope, then the flush of the water came. rip.I stopped playing when they merged servers and suddenly I was required to change ALL of my char names.... :(

Damn dude. I've been wanting a 6300. Hope everything goes together well.the MB and CPU are working wonderfully... due to budget issues I went with a cheaper graphics card, tho I might eventually buy a second one since they are only $200 instead of $400 :P

This is what you get for building spawn out of WOOD o_O

You know there's more servers in this Div other than just the trade servers... right?
Pretty sure web addresses in general aren't "advertising" and I was under the impression people were allowed to share things like twitch, youtube.... they just weren't allowed to advertise another clan or server...?
Should enforce the spamming rule for things like pans and other annoying melee spamming as well as those voice cmd spammers and lenny faces... I hate joining the server and hearing pootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootispootis for 5 minutes straight.... :(

Accidently knocked over a can of sprite right into the top fan openings on my tower.... ended up ruining my video card, motherboard, and CPU....
I bought a few new parts:
and saving up another ~$350 so I can also get ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 GeForce GTX 970 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support G-SYNC Support Video Card - Newegg.com
so ya... that's why I haven't been on in the last week very much =/

I rather people attach demos to the forums for now. I don't trust the sourcebans upload feature. Then perhaps a staff only area of the forums for posting proof when you perm someone? sort of like a admin log... each mod/admin can have their own thread within the forum section to post their logs? Sort of like how RL security fill out incident reports... Just an idea.

You're 100% right. But regardless, given the track record of incidents within xG where someone abused their power; its just not an easy decision to hand out the capability of editing bans. In fact, having access to only edit bans should be so seldom that it shouldn't even be given as a command for all Staff to use in the first place. When dealing a ban, Staff should already know the appropriate length, reason, or other information to be given to justify a ban. Should something be incorrect, the procedure of editing a ban is simple enough:- Staff Member requests a ban be edited for X reason
- The intention to edit the ban has been acknowledged by more than one person (The Higher-Up(s)
- The Higher-Ups edit the ban as see fit
To give a large number of Staff access to SourceBans involves a lot of potential edits that no one will likely hear of, only the one editing will know of it. This could open up a whole new can of worms where people will be editing whatever they see fit without prior permission, and it would be virtually undetectable in the sense that who knows what the reason prior to an edit was.
If such an option is really in dire need (which I personally don't think it is due in part to the rare circumstances of an edit) then I would suggest that it be only available to Staff who have been with xG for X amount of time. This way, at a certain amount of time, Staff will have earned the trust needed to have access to such a thing.
Here's why I think the current system is good:A mod bans someone perm. They realize that they messed up. Currently they have to contact a higher up to fix the ban. This contact does 2 things
1) Makes the mod be accountable of their mistake, publicly to a person in power
2) Allows a higher up the knowledge of the mistake.
Well then, is there a way to make it so the only access you have is to upload files to the ban? That's what I was really after, so I don't have to keep the files on my computer and risk deleting them.

There are. Only Higher-Ups have access to it for reasons that are obvious. Lot of nigs can't be trusted :coffee:.... anyone that can't be trusted shouldn't be given powers in the first place.... what obvious reasons? You can set it up so that people can just edit their own bans and upload demos/screenshots.... what's the problem? Laziness?

I think we should give staff access to sourcebans, IE give every staff member logins that allow them to edit their own bans, for purposes of fixing banlengths, typos, and uploading demos and screenshots to bans. Doing this would not only allow staff members to fix their ban reasons when they forget to use quotes but also allow, and potentially create a rule for, adding evidence to bans. Such a rule could be something that requires staff to upload a screenshot or demo to any permanent ban they do. The ability to supply such proof on perm bans will be greatly helpful if the ban was protested 2-5 years later and/or if the staff that issued the ban is no longer around.
I don't understand how xG has been around for so long and has never implemented this feature for it's staff.

As far as I can tell we have no way to prove that he threatened to DDoS us, Unless @Rise makes a comeback. This guy still cares about xG after two years of not playing, the admin who banned him obviously doesn't. None of us were there, giving a -1 for a DDoS threat you can't confirm doesn't make sense to me. That being said, if either of you have or can find evidence, I'll change my vouch. How about the evidence of HE GOT PERM BANNED FOR DOING IT!!! and didn't care to complain about it for TWO YEARS
Unless you have some evidence that Rise was a bad admin and randomly perms people.... why do you question his judgement on this?
I didn't see/have proof of most of the ddos threat bans that are in Sourcebans right now but that doesn't mean that I would say you should unban someone that @Rhododendron or Serbian banned for threatening the server for example...
-
Ban from 2013 says it's for threatening.... which I assume means threatening to hack or ddos the servers... if the ban was so unjust why wait 2 years to protest it?
I say -1 people that threaten to hack or ddos the server shouldn't be unbanned
-
And you don't have proof you didn't do anything. How does one prove something that didn't happen? =/
From the looks of it, you killed 3 people all at the same time(apparently the same second, according to the events logs) and only 1 of them got kill assist against you... I highly doubt that ALL 3 of them hit you, if that was true you would likely have died from being meleed 3 times even if none of them were crits...
You prolly freekilled one or two of those three, and while... it sucks that you can't fight back while people are chasing and swinging at you, until they actually hit you, it's still freekilling if you kill them. Your ban will likely expire before any decision is made on this appeal anyways, and it looks like it's only a ban from blu team... just be careful in the future.

It's too bad that xG has a stern policy on suicide threats but not something like this.... :(

I was loading into Payday2 to play with @Rejects and while we were loading into the heist... I bumped my computer coming back from grabing a code red mtn dew.... my computer locked up with a blank screen and 30 seconds later rebooted. I finally got back online on steam and Rejects said he just crashed.... I tried to join his game again and then suddenly steam crashed, I looked at the status of online players at Steam · AppID: 753 · Steam Database and it went from 5.5million players to 0....
I think I bumped my computer and crashed Steam....

I think the underlying point of this is that he causes a lot of trouble, and this is one issue. I don't think building a dispenser should count for a ban; however, if he does more butt fudge intentionally to spite people, then I would talk about some punishment. Then someone post some proof of this other stuff he is doing... not just some bullshit ban request for building a dispenser.... lolol
I've built towers of teleporters on JB before... it's called "having fun" some of you should try it before TF2 turns into CSS...

-1 The little brother excuse.... not to mention that his forum profile lists his age as 16 not 14.... he's obviously lying about his age and bad at simple math.

Someone changed the capping rule to now allow hale to cap when any of six different classes out of the total of nine are alive..... wtf is that about?
So now you basically get to cap as hale if anyone but a medic, sniper, or engy is alive....
Please change it back to just scout hyper heavy and flyros..... this is ridiculous.

Deal. Be on tomorrow at 5 or we can arrange something else. Message me if anything comes up. PS im serious csgo sucks anyway KlappaFFS be online some time.....

It's a good thing the randoms aren't the ones that get to decide if something is or isn't breaking a rule... writing rules to specify everything that sound be pretty obvious is the reason the rules consist of multiple pages of stuff and noone is going to read through it all, if you're going to do it maybe at least make a "full page" list of rules that's linked at the top of the motd, rather than extending the MOTD to cover every little thing.
Point is, staff should already be stopping things like this when they see it. :(
