For those not paying attention:
 
A while back OhStopYou said that -1 on a member app did not count because he claims he "heard it from higher ups" (who knows where he heard it, or if he made it up. yolo.), however prior to that everyone that was a Division Leader (and then DM/DL after it was decided to "split" the responsibilities) had always operated under the pretext that if there was a -1 on an application, that it would count as long as it posed actual context to why they were giving a -1, same with a +1 (hence why forest made the whole thing with activity and maturity ratings to give a simple short note of why you gave your vouch.)
 
At this point there was a medium sized thread in the admin discussion that was confused on this topic, as far as I remember, if current DM/DL/CL/C wanted to, they could go back and screenshot the thread in there where it was "discussed" and essentially verified that yes all vouches count be it +1 or -1 as long as they have proper context therefore a simple post containing this: "+1" or "-1" would mean literally nothing, only posts that followed the format "+1 A: X M: X" or in sentence/descriptive form counted.
 
This then continued Business as Usual until now where this thread was made because Silence, being the monster that he is, does what he wants really regardless of what the community says/thinks as long as it is something he wants to do (very hard to change his mind.) decided to accept this member submission, after receiving 6 +1 vouches and 1 -1 vouch. totaling out at 5 +1 vouches, for a forum application which previous precedent, Hanney had applied under and was accepted with 6 +1 vouches. however in the case of Hanney, the only game she plays with xG is League of Legends and then whatever meme of the month game is next, she does not play on any of xG's official divisions where we control servers, and instead operated mostly on teamspeak.
 
IMO this should have been treated as said in the thread in question, as a TF2 member submission and follow those vouch requirements, since squid is 99% a TF2 player, it is unknown to me if he actually plays on the other divs/games but his previous submission was from TF2 (until the day comes where you just generically apply for xG which is what it should be at this point with the blending of divisions that has taken place more-so recently.)
 
 
Obviously he is now a member, and I am not condoning revoking his membership after the fact, but merely to review the case and set a future precedent.

It's kind of up to the person that closes the application to accept it honestly. I had always read over the -1s and if they were troll posts/no context provided ignored it in my tally, but if there was context to it or a reason then I counted it. and that's how my fellow CSGOers and old CSSers did it. I didn't know that it was ever any other way where -1 was ignored or -1 was taken as a reason to close an app.

You can't get his MAC Address through tf2. Even if tf2 provided a way to access a user's MAC Address they can still change it. Anyone willing to evade IP bans would be willing to evade a MAC ban. It's a flawed idea to begin with.
 
The problem at hand is an issue that comes with any free game. The solution is not simple. If someone wants to ban evade over and over the best you can do is make it a hassle to do so. Inevitably, said solutions would effect legitimate players.

MAC Adresses are impossible to access unless we install software in the clients pc or are on the same network as a user. (which obviously won't happen). Changing systems will not solve it and VAC will never be able to do anything unless valve decides to implement hardware bans themselves. There is nothing we can do about it and you guys simply need to be more stubborn than them on this one.

You're a member of xG, not a member of xG TF2. You are free to play whatever games you want and enjoy any and all membership privileges that entail in our servers on those games. You're also free to make friends with anyone you want and potentially become staff in one or multiple divisions. Adding badges for where you are a "member" is counter productive to the goal of reducing the amount of segregation that is prevalent within our community.

the only way to really get a MAC address for a ban like that is if you are the person in control of the client or game he is using. since you nor i nor aegean nor silence own or operate TF2 or steam, good luck getting that. as well as that sourcebans isn't something you can just add a mac address to ban someone.
 
As far as dealing with the hacker goes, the only thing you can do is continue to ban him, at some point or another he will get bored of having to make a new steam acct. and re-spoof his IP to get back on some random server for him.

on avalanche, some guy named Godz gives me from 420 to 4 to do my LR by and I was like nah fam you can't do that. I was not tagged up at the time and acted undercover as Childish Memebeno.
I told him not to, as I was trying to decide where to start my LR (I was going to rebel by the way so I was bhopping away at first then I stood there for a second to just allahu ackbar it and he killed me, he was swiftly CT banned for 1 day) but that is all irrelevant to this ban protest anyway.
 
For the next several rounds retr0 aka this person aka pokemon master would repeatedly call me a badmin and abuser and that I needed to read the rules even after I told him that the rules did not allow you to kill LR on purpose for any reason, via mic and I muted a dozen times over 4 maps and gave warnings each time. when he was muted he would spam it in chat both regular and normal. on the final map I gave him a "final warning" and he continued to spam his new bind that said "xG-Rep Retr0 : UNBAN GODZ YOU BADMIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and #GodzForCT aso I banned him for a day.
 
After the ban the players there held a self imposed moment of silence for him, at the end someone said "Wait, it was only a day ban? : ("
