Because people actually do that it's immature of Septik? You're off your rocker.
When we had removed Nimusland from TGH rotation, people were actually debating on the map. Then someone made a request to remove another map, in which Scootaloo brought up the whole: "We shouldn't remove it because you hate it." concept.
Moosty is right on this one. As the thread only shows so far, Septik and a few others who dislikes the map in general. Which is perfectly fine. There may be others who agree on those terms, hence why there is a poll. If you don't want it, vote yes. Otherwise vote no.
In my opinion though, we honestly should remove it. It's pretty bland and irritating.
Hyrule is a large map, but it's well built. There are teleporters that take you throughout the map instead of having to walk for a few minutes just to get to the action. And by no means am I saying that every map should be like that, but playing on a trade server which the only other thing to do besides trading is killing enemy players. You're going to want to get to the action right away if you can.
Sure the map may have secrets (which is nice), but there are maps out there that could potentially replace 3DLand. Maybe start having people suggest more maps to add variety instead of complaining when someone requests a map be removed.
"Then votes should be non-commentable. If any comments or concerns need to be brought up, they should be done in private... only then will the higher-ups use the poll result and the concerns brought to them to make a final decision. That’s how I feel most of these high-valuing votes should be ran."
People should be able to comment to persuade people to keep or remove the map. They should just elaborate more with better reasoning. Not this "Don't remove it because you don't like it" shit.

From what I can tell he meant that people -1 on the basis that they don't think a thread to remove a map is valid because "not liking a map isn't a good enough reason to make a thread" (even though it totally is, it's still up to the community not whoever made the thread), not because of anything to do with the map itself. Which is pretty clearly happening. Septik nor I have a problem with people supporting the map and speaking their opinion on the map, what we have a problem with is saying valid reasonings for making thread aren't actually valid, which scares off people from making suggestions in the future.
Atleast that's what I gathered.

The way I see it, gaming related and not broken are MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, not automatic grounds for a spot on the server. This idea that whoever made the thread just wants it gone for personal reasons is pretty dumb. I see it as the same type of argument as hating on people for less than stellar posts to get to 50, what are they supposed to do? If multiple people think a map is bad, and not up to our servers standards, whether that map is complete and bug free or not really doesn't matter. And besides, outside of clear personal favoritism and begging higher ups outside of the forums, starting a discussion around whether or not we should have a map is perfectly valid. For any reason. It's a community vote, not one persons opinion.
3dland is generally disliked. Groans flood voice chat whenever it gets picked, and I think it's telling that your argument is "we shouldn't remove maps we dislike" instead of bringing up a single positive thing about the map. If the map can't be defended on the merits, and only on what is basically procedural grounds, then it should be removed.
Tl;dr: the map is bad, fairly objectively. it may be complete, but it's bad. If you want it gone, say why. If you want it to stay, defend it on its merits. But if all you can say is "we shouldn't remove maps the community as a majority dislikes" then nah fam, we should.
+1 for removal

True, but whether it's a large majority complaining, or a few people with a grudge is the question. If more than half want it gone, it should be gone. If a few want it gone, it won't pass the vote. That's how our system works. Saying dislike isn't a valid reason to make a poll is what I have a problem with. If we only have the oppurtunity to make threads about technically (code wise) flawed maps, that greatly lessens the communities ability to build the best server.
And I don't want to hate on our higher ups because I love the speedy responses and activity, I just want consistency.
But we've been adding maps that are suggested usually after just a higher up testing it. No community vote and no arbitrary two week wait. It shouldn't be easier to add a map than remove one. Either make both easy or both difficult.
But we're at a place right now where it's easier for a map to be added than removed, and that breeds lower quality maps in the rotation.

I mean I'm going to be a cynic before I actually vouch and say I've seen a lot of people try and save minecraft but it just doesn't seem to work ever. That being said if it's going to stick around we should still try. I look at minecraft higher ups like I look at social media manager, kind of a thankless, crappy job without much benefit to the person doing it.
That being said if it's something you're interested in and capable of then I don't see why not. +1. I don't see why anyone would want to do it, but if being a masochist is your prerogative then do you, maybe it will actually succeed this time lol. Good luck.

So I broke my leg yesterday and am just miserable laying in bed, I'm not sleeping so I have loads of time to kill. I'm already onto season 2 of Samurai Jack but when that shows over I'll have nothing. Suggest some shows for ya boy to watch. I'll even watch anime if it's not TOO weeby. I liked Durarara and AOT and FMA, and obviously the classics (bebop, trigun, DB/Z) please I'm going to go crazy.

Ayy so I wasn't going to make a thread because for some reason I thought I had another week, but I had midterms this last week (Just turned in my 12 page Research paper after a solid 7 hour editing session sitting in my school library kill me unironically plz) obviously with only being able to study for anything at school I had to be there at least 6 hours a day last week so I might not make the 14 hour minimum by monday. If I'm being honest I'm super anxious to play and theres a decent chance I'll get 14 hours in the next two days, because this week has been that shitty, but I understand getting my activity on the last two days before promo/demo is also shitty on my part, so I just want you to know I'm not going to make a habit out of it.
Much love and I promise I'll be much more consistent starting tomorrow, and more my usual chill self lol.

Moosty got a reaction from CorruptedCobalt in The Xg Shadow Government (exposed)
So this is just a for fun thread and not an actual suggestion, incase anyone gets the wrong idea, but long story short in my government class our warm up today was to design an effective leadership structure for any large group of people that would fit on a notecard, and since online communities were allowed I chose xG. Here goes. It's really not that interesting.
4 CMs, one vote a piece, if tie, goes to council. Council is any odd number of "elder" members who are appointed by CMs, but can be removed with a CM majority vote OR by a community poll of members with %70+ approval, simple council majority breaks tie. Council can deny a promo from DLs by majority vote, with majority quorum, but if the same person is brought up to be promo'd the next cycle, it must be a 70% or higher council vote the second time.
It doesn't cover everything, but it isn't everyday xG is part of classwork, so I thought it was cool.

Honestly I feel a bit sketchy about coming down this hard on him for shit talking a DM behind their back. If you're saying it's immature to talk behind people's backs in general because it's petty then fair play, but that's really as far as it goes, stuff like this:
Naahhhhhhhh...
Higher up has nothing to do with it. You're allowed to BM and complain about higher ups behind their backs, or at the very least it's the same level of offense as doing it to anyone else. Their position doesn't give them immunity or cause to punish people that don't like them. Talking behind people's back is petty, but opinions like this of accepting that the DM/DLs can just punish people for criticizing/shit talking/BM whatever you want to call it behind their back, is probably why people are inclined to do it behind their back and not to their face.

Moosty got a reaction from Ms.Spooks in Let's Remove Cyberpunk 2_2
+1 it's not necessarily a bad map, outside of being able to block doors with arcade machines there aren't really any glitches or exploits, the issue with this map is just the trolling with music/light spam etc. For you to reasonably play this map enjoyably you need to disable music and avoid the disco area. Sure it's not that hard to do, but that's still a rather high barrier to entry just to be on a map without going insane. The thing is though, you can't even do that, because what's a cool, well executed and reasonably fair idea on 2_a is a pretty big flaw in 2_2. I'm talking of course about random spawns. It not only makes avoiding the flashing lights of the disco impossible, but also turns what would be a cool and decently balanced idea, the sniper towers, into just a cheese fest to race for a spawn in the other teams tower, to camp.
Tl;dr we have a better cyberpunk in every way, and this one causes nothing but toxicity whenever we join. It's the biggest example of what I call the "Michael Bay effect": A map that people who understand the system nominate first because that's what usually gets picked, knowing it's bad/controversial and going to cause toxicity. Except in this case it's easier, you just play the ear rape beeping song and have your friend remove the floor. Boom, everyone on the server is pissed, but can't stop it for 30ish seconds. Then it just repeats.
Honestly I usually leave on Hallway hell, and I know I'm not alone.
