I really like surprises of this nature, probably more then most people, but I don't think keeping anything secret is going to help the population at all. If anything doing that would create an effect similar to the pyro update did where everyone is going to be discouraged by what seems like a never moving project and simply telling people to expect something new has too strong a chance to come off as hollow promises.
 
If you want people to start coming on again I think it would be much better to give them something tangible to be excited for as opposed to just telling them to stay tuned for something that has sadly been a very slow development progress in the past.

I may go on a bit of a rant here so feel free to disregard this as the ramblings of a madman.
 
When it comes to how people are on the servers, some people seem to forget how their own attitudes affect everyone else. Our members and regulars form the backbone of this clan and it's servers. As such, they are the people new comers look up to as the posters boys (and girls) of sorts of the place. Because of this it is the behavior of our more prominent members on the servers that is seen as the norm to everyone else, which leads to them interpreting that however they act is the way to be around here. So when people are "shittalking" and often acting unfriendly or even flat out rude, it only encourages everyone else to do the same.
It is rather irritating to see people behave in such a careless mannerism themselves but quickly jump on anyone seen as less prominent when they act in the same way.
As a community, we set the example of how to interact on the servers.
As a community, we are responsible for improving our own act if we want the greater population to improve as well.
 
tldr if people want the servers to start having more positive attitudes about them then they need to take initiative to have more positive attitudes on the servers themselves.

I feel like this is something that needs to be said because it's happening way too often.
A joke is only funny if everyone is laughing. There is a lot of times when people are being quite rude or intentionally trying to make certain people angry. Unfortunately the jokes have gone from the occasional playful teasing to outright making fun of certain players.
Now I'm not going to tell you that you can't shit talk each other all together. Sometimes it's in good intent as long as both parties are content about it. It's been getting out of hand recently though. It's gotten to the point where multiple people start bandwagoning against one person even though they don't like it. So to get to the point, I want to write this reminder that disrespect is NOT allowed on the servers. When someone asks you to stop or is clearly getting upset please do not continue to heckle them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants a friendly environment for everyone. I would like it if you all would consider how you effect everyone else on the server so noone feels alienated. I'm not trying to say you need to be on good terms with everyone. All I ask is that the playful shittalking is consensual or at least acceptable.
I hope we all can keep enjoying the server!

I'd hope you wouldn't get flak for it, I'd hope no one would get flak for anything. I did make this thread because I wanted to see people's thoughts and because of a bit of convincing from some others.
 
I did go off insulting you before since admittedly I'd always had my own issues with you here or there, unfortunately at the time I didn't opt to go talking them out and instead just lashed out instead.
 
People are free to say what they want here, I'll be fine with either result, I just hope it doesn't go devolving into a big argument.

We are looking into solutions currently, the higher ups had a meeting a week ago or so, stay tuned for that though!

This is one of the people who came on the server on surf when we were talking about the 3 course meal thing and then a bunch of trolls came on. I can't say you made a good impression at all, and to say that you have someone's IP address sounds pretty threatening to me + the fact you were trolling on the servers at the time makes you look really bad. DDOS threats, jokes or not, are not allowed and will result in a permanent ban.

There have been a lot of people lately applying for mod but getting immediately denied due to not having requirements.
 
Personally I think if it’s at all possible to have a feature where you cannot access the staff application creation page unless your account had >50
 
That way the staff applications page doesn’t look like we deny people all the time, seeing it kind of looks discouraging and may prevent people from bothering to do it.

I just wish I could have done more to help you all out in the servers, but I just.. couldn't bring myself to it, I let other things get in the way of my true goal, which was to turn the server into a marxist countr-, I mean create a safe and caring environment for all.

Yes, on top of this helping to not interrupt the flow of the game for players, it would also encourage actually looking through and selecting a map instead of just instinctively choosing option one.

I'll make a box of a map, the wall textures are a poorly compressed .jpg of sand. There's a control point in the middle of 2 spawns. The map constantly blasts the sand song.

Trainsawlaser might be fun but it doesn't belong on TGH. The map itself as you said might not be related to any game in particular just as Mascc or Cyberpunk I myself am still wondering how those two made it on the server, but that's not enough of a reason to add a map that's even more so ridiculous than those two. Also it should be noted that the map itself is somewhat irritating to play on, for some people it's not even fun it's just obnoxious and annoying. Anytime I bring it up on the server I do so ironically. There is absolutely no good reason for this map to be added so all-in-all I'm against it.

-1 Ban seems well justified.

Except for the fact that like no one ever really uses them unless a staff member/uber donator purposefully goes through the effort of starting them up since only they can do it

+1 I've seen him quite around on the servers and from what I've seen he is quite mature and deserves the position. Having someone who could take those pesky late night call admins often would be great.

+1 Has improved over the time he was gone. He deserves back in.

Don't worry about the Minecraft server too much, I worked on it all day today and got it mostly finished, I left a wonderful packet of chores for @Amymaniac and @XHina_sanX to do (as well as @Rhododendron :U) which should have the server finished perhaps before even I get back. (it's probably only like a couple days work, but Amy and Hina have the burden of sorting though my work which could take another day or more) please finish it guys I'm sorry I failed
 
I'm just going to throw this out right now: I'm going to resign as soon as the Minecraft server is up.
I've done a terrible job and the expected release date of the server has been thrown back at least twice now. There's like 5 other reasons I have for resigning as well, I'll have to talk about them later I have like 50 things to do right now and I'm really fucking sick.
 
So, why am I announcing my registration early? Well, before you yell "fuck you james you're going on vacation when there's a server to finish!!" I just want ya'll to know that you have my deepest advanced apologies for all the delays and I'm making up for it the best I can. I will NOT resign until the factions server is released, as much as I want to be free of this obligation, I owe you motherfucking XenoGamers at least the release of the server before I leave the MC team.
