I was trying to emphasize the fact that it would be a very loosely moderated #memes channel. This way you can post all of your incredibly racist and sexist memes without having to worry about getting banned. The entire problem with #shitposting is the huge group of absolute mongs who keep posting loli/beastiality. If no one posted that shit we'd be fine, but it keeps happening. At this point, we can outlaw pornographic/sexualized images, or we can just delete the entire channel. At this rate, I highly doubt we'll be keeping the channel without making some sort of drastic change. If you want to keep #shitposting, you should choose the better of the two solutions.

I miss the old multi-world days where you didnt have to have people bitching about it being factions or it being towny, because you had both, same server same account you just went through a portal and boom there it is. same ip same account, you go through 1 portal and it loads your multi-world inventory etc., you go through the other it loads your factions inventory.
(Note: I don't play minecraft a lot, I tryhard and get far in insert mode/modpack here for a few weeks and then i pretty much give it up so take my opinion with a grain of salt.)
 
fun modpacks are always good, a bunch of us burned through FTB Infinity Evolved but pretty much all worked together, something similar but not the exact same pack would be cool to have where it is more open to all of xg, and you can have factions (actual use to all our destructive weapons/magic and OP armor). none of that towny everyone friendly bullshit in these modpacks, they are meant for having epic bases with laser defense and all out war.

This is exactly why I said we should attempt archiving first. If they don't cause problems in the other channels we should be fine just silently deleting the channel.
Another solution @YeEternalTuna mentioned last night on Discord was to prohibit the posting of pornographic images. Basically, this just makes #shitposting a loosely moderated #memes.
I should add that if the vote goes through on removing the channels, we should at least attempt both of these proposed solutions. Archive the channel for a month or a few weeks and take note of the changes in the other channels. Next, remove the channel from the archives and set a single basic rule of "no pornographic or sexualized content." This would act very much like the spray rule on TF2, and most of the Discord staff have been TF2 moderators at one point, or at least present during the revision of the rule. This makes the channel much easier to moderate, and we should decrease the amount of TOS violations on our server.

You shouldn't be posting your degenerate fucking lolicon. That's just common knowledge. As long as these people know their limits shit posting isn't a problem. At least #shitposting keeps the degens away from the real chat. There's some people that LIVE in that chat. I don't want anybody living in a shit hole to come into our land.
Shit posting is supposed to be fun but you troglodytes are using it as a place for everyone to jack off together to fucking puppies. I don't want these kinds of people to roam the streets of xG. They should stay in their disgusting sewer.

What's against discord tos is pretty obvious, and even if you aren't sure you should be erring on the safe side and not posting it. There's literally only three limitations on what kind of nsfw content one is able to post, and while any system of categorization has flaws and outliers, that should make it insanely easy to avoid ever encountering this issue. If what you're posting looks like it's part of a gray area or could be interpreted as breaking tos, even if you personally don't feel it is, you should be doing the rest of us a favor and not posting it. 
Ultimately we are not the final arbiters of what is and what isn't allowed, we aren't the final jury or the judge, so anytime anyone posts anything in a nsfw chat they should be considering whether whatever it is would look incriminating if discord staff had to make a call on whether to axe our server or not. 
I really like the idea of a channel where none of the rules apply because for the most part it contains all the sh:tposting and spam and questionable content to a single channel, and i think it's quite the jump from 0 to 100 to immediately try and delete the channel rather than just dealing with the offending individuals with our standard punishment system. What confuses me is that this is exactly what's been done with individuals who've posted hentai that breaks tos, but now that it's furry stuff it's no longer about "individual responsibility" or whatever, it's the collective fault of the whole channel and everyone participating in it. I've mentioned before that while we've been pretty good at immediately catching and removing some questionable content, and while that deserves commendation, there's been a load of questionable furry shit that's made it past either because nobody wants to look at most of those image dumps, or possibly some kind of implicit bias. 

Basically what I mean by this is that archiving is playing it safe, while just deleting it is more efficient. I'm 100% for removing the shitposting channel as long as we don't have our brony/furry/other fetish children bleeding their discussions into other chats. I don't specifically hate people who have fetishes (feet, furries, bronies, etc.), but I have some moral gripes with people who are interested in shit like actually fucking animals or children. There is a *huge* gray area when it comes to determining whether or not something/someone is too young in a pornographic picture, which then leads to incredibly long and pointless arguments.
In my honest opinion, I don't think we're half as mature as we should be when it comes to allowing NSFW channels. If people can't accept that their porn is against TOS / not favored among the rest of the populace, then we shouldn't have an NSFW channel in the first place. Just having this thread posted sparked an incredibly long argument that should not have to be discussed, thus proving that we're nowhere near where we should be on maturity regarding the subject. Now, I'm not saying those involved in the argument are immature, but rather it just shouldn't have happened at all. Evidence and claims were provided for at least one argument, which is pretty good for a gaming community.
tl;dr - Arguing over what is or what isn't against TOS is stupid. If something is constantly causing problems and breaking the rules of our platform, it should be extinguished, no questions asked.

I admire your determination to be here. A fresh start is always nice, but here's a few helpful tips, just so old mistakes aren't repeated:
1) Don't Spam Forum Posts
This was instantly a red flag to us all and became very irritating very quickly. Think about what you post before you post it, think:
- Is it necessary?
- Is it a post that people would enjoy or could discuss about?
- Am I better off just making a discord post about this?
Always think about those three questions before posting a thread. Which leads onto my next suggestion...
2) Think Before You Say Something
Sometimes, what people say can really cause a negative impact. If someone says something negative towards you, contact a higherup and tell them that you don't like what they're doing. THEY WILL ACT ON IT.
If someone is being rude, it's always a better option to alert a higher member of staff.
If you insist on saying something, make sure you think about whether it will further cause a negative reaction or not. The main thing trolls want from you is a reaction. Always remember that.
3) Doing Controversial Actions
Doing controversial actions may lead to huge backlash. One of which is when you left with a storm to become admin on a different server, then come back a week later and expect us all to open with welcome arms. Stuff like this is what will give you a bad name in the community and sometimes they can be extremely difficult to escape. But lest we forget that there have been people who have made it very far here despite being previously permenantly banned.
TL;DR:
Welcome back, nice to see a fresh start, helpful advice is to think before you act because actions can result in serious backlash.
