Oops it hasn't been 4 months yet has it?
Well, it's been 2 months and I'll be hanging around on TF2 and minecraft for a week since I'm on spring break (yes, it was for school the reason I didn't say where I was going earlier was due to privacy concerns at the time)
Wow have things changed or what? The website looks totally new, I actually don't like it but I'm sure it just takes getting used to.

So, here are our servers Game Servers | Xeno Gamers
and you know, for some mystical reason general trade is becoming popular again, so maybe we should wait on changing that one (although it probably does need updates, such as !rules does nothing and I'm not sure if !rtd is meant to be working or not).
Anyways, Zombie Fortress is never populated. I think I suggested this a long time ago, but we should make it a MGE server, I think that'd appeal to many xG'ers as well as people who just happen to be browsing community servers. Also, because it only needs 2 people online at a time to work, it'd be much easier to populate as well.
I know @Bone's GR server (also the GR server needs to be added to this list Game Servers | Xeno Gamers) is most likely going to run MGE based on current poll results, so it could be considered a good trial-run to see how people like the gamemode and if we should make it permanent.

*EDIT: As it turns out, there's a vanilla server just sitting around which used to be 'warioware' so it might be better to transform that one? But either way both servers get 0 traffic as far as I know.

So what happened between 2010 and 2016? I wasn't here. Even 2017 is starting to feel hazy for me.
You know, there's a lot of threads like this, one just got made by @StarmiX and I've been planning on making one for a long time.
Share your memories of the major events, not just nostalgia, for XenoGamers in its earlier years. Let's try to create a small memorandum for each of the years, shall we?
You might think me sappy or overemotional or something along those lines for asking, but I'm really interested to know the general history of my own group, especially since I'm going away for a long time pretty soon.
Guess I'll start? Correct me if I'm wrong, like I said 2017 is starting to feel hazy.
Late 2016-2017 featured a much more populated set of TF2 servers. DR always had a population, FF2 sometimes had a population, Surf and TGH were and still are popular, but I remember TGH, where I spent most of my time, still had "buddy" mods, and the map was constantly on Clocktown and sometimes CyberPunk (but I could never join cyberpunk when it was popular due to a glitch e_e). I met a ton of swag people on TGH. The minecraft towny server was also rereleased, and had a small playerbase, but was enjoyable in it's simplicity (so many MC servers have too many bells and whistles these days) My time in xG has been short overall, but I know I have nostalgia for those days (of about a year ago), even though I was pretty ignorant of the bigger picture of xG at the time.

Well, this application has been "Pending..." for awhile, so...
Personally, I don't know Vaporeon well at all. I've seen him online the servers a ton, and there's never been any issues I noticed even when he was mod. Obviously, I'm going to be neutral in this.
However, I just wanted to point out, after reading the comments regarding his alleged past staff-abuse, ya'll shouldn't let that make you drop a +1 for him and/or -1 him instead. Five years is a long time to be active in xG and a long time to gain experiences in what's appropriate here and what's not appropriate here, and as a server mod none the less. The point I'm trying to make here is that I trust that he's matured since the alleged staff-abuse described and would be more than willing to trust him with a second chance, if I knew him :P

And there are going to be some changes...
Item #1) Every faction must pay a daily 10 diamond tribute to America every 24 hours.
Item #2) Anyone on the server will be required to /tpa to us whenever we request it to do slave labor or 'pleasure' us in some other manner.
Item #3) We demand to be handed over all TnT, redstone, and other materials used for raiding immediately.
Item #4) Anyone who tries to avoid these demands will be destroyed mercilessly
Item #5) If all these demands are met and continue to be met, you will be allowed to build your faction peacefully and we will not raid you so long as you remain loyal allies of America.

I have a bug to report.
So, you know about the error page (Xeno Gamers - xGO) which is essentially a meme dump you should rarely if ever be sent to? Well, I keep getting sent there more and more often and frankly I don't really appreciate loud JOHN CENA jump-scares, which always seems to be the first thing it shows by default unless you reload the error page.
However, strangely enough;
1) I only ever get send to the page when visiting the forum link (Xeno Gamers)
2) Instead or redirecting me to the error page, the page goes black without actually leaving the forums page then promptly JOHN CENAs me.
-----> This means I cannot recall the error in my browser history, since the 'error page' takes place ON the forums page, which is odd to me.
Anyways this happens like every other day now and it's getting annoying.
It's not like I don't appreciate memes or jokes, that's why were all here :P, but the joke is getting old and I'd like to see the error fixed or the error page replaced with a not so jump-scarey message, or even another meme so long as it is a still image (not a gif or video) and doesn't make annoying/loud music or noise.

Did a good job with Pyro, he/she now has more depth and is actually a threat in terms of DPS and good in MvM for something other than destroying tanks.
The new weapons are all good (even the gas can in MvM) and I appreciate that they're not just the stock weapons that've had their stats tweaked like so many other weapons in TF2 are.
The new maps are interesting, but many of them are imbalanced in one way or another and have rapidly lost popularity. Also, I find it funny how all the community maps had no exploits on them, but the one valve map (Mercenary Park) had three maps exploits.
The Contracker is a wonderful improvement over how contracts used to work, however some of the contracts are ridiculously demanding for some objectives which are very situational and you have to complete like 20/20 times. Pisses me off, in fact. :mad:
Lastly, I think the balances make sense and are good ideas with a few exceptions. The Flying Guillotine did not deserve a nerf my opinion (if anything needed a buff) and I think there's a few other examples I forget.

So my latest gag was a request! Whilst on xG's Trade Gaming History server, I was added by this gentleman that has absolutely no connections that would result in me adding him. Upon receiving this request, I asked the server what impersonation should I take. I got a couple good requests, but one of them was "instead of offering items, offer used cars." I could NOT say no to such a genius idea. *Forewarning: I am many things, but I am not a person who knows a lot about cars. Please forgive my poor impersonation.*

So it starts out with this gentleman following the "Random-add scammer phrase checklist" such as asking if I am a trader AFTER adding me and offering unusuals from another person's account.
Although I would not really call myself a trader, for the purposes of this charade, I have decided to masquerade as one. I play my role to a T, and he does the unthinkable, HE DOES NOT ASK FOR MY UNUSUAL. Now I have been doing this for a long time, but I have never EVER had someone ask for anything but my Unusual Stovepipe. He did ask for austrailiums, but that wasn't going to be my initial offer, no no no. I start him off on some of my more mediocre wares. I have had this Kia Spectra for a while*, and it was cluttering my garage**. I was okay with letting it go. I go on to immediately regret that and backpedal a bit to a different car.

At first, he is confused. Does he not know how the barter of automobiles is performed? What an amatuer. So he goes on to speak Filipino, and I shamelessly open a tab in Google Translate. He opens with obscenities, and proceeds to call me a devil. I give the obvious response. I mean, car salesmen are stereotyped to be sleazy ass droplets, but it does not mean I am under that same, smelly umbrella. He keeps this up for a bit, so I (professionally) request him to gather himself so we can continue negotiating. I give him a few minutes, and ask him if negotiations can continue. He does not respond. I give him a countdown to respond so I can gauge his interest. I already wasted to much time on him. A busy car salesman*** such as myself shouldn't be wasting his valuable seconds on people who aren't willing to conduct business. The clock runs fully, and I am still met with silence. A bit nettled, I say a backhanded statement and proceed to block and unfriend him. I probably wasn't going to go through with it anyways. If he lived in the Philippines, the paperwork and fees to send that car over would be to costly.

EDIT: really I made a mistake!! I should've let the server be tested by the staff more, not just for like 2 days. It should've been postponed for another week, it would've been worth it.

since I can't post this on the poll thread Amy put up, I'll do it here.
You know, it's funny that we're moving back to towny after factions had so much support despite myself and others making it clear that, well, obsidian water-coverd boxes would be the only lasting builds on the server.
That being said, I do look forwards to having towny back. Factions is a gamemode which is at it's best when there is a large server population, and I think towny suits our little server for this and a few other reasons as well.
Good luck with the development of the server @Amymaniac! Hopefully I can enjoy it when I come home in two months
