I personally believe it should stay as its one of the few places on the discord where people can express themselves in any way (that isn't against TOS), and I'm all for people having the freedom to express themselves and their opinions, even if they are "controversial" or "weird". Taking away this privilege limits people and what they can do, making the community feel more closed, or possibly more like a dictatorship ?

I'm not too familiar with Goldfish, so I will refrain from vouching. Though I must say this.
At the end of the day, words are just words. With no screenshots, demos or any kind of evidence, this whole thing is going to be "You did this" "No I didn't, you did it".
Whilst I'm aware that Goldfish is a member that many people would consider toxic, solid evidence is needed for something as big as a member protest. If you see one another on a server, record a demo. Take screenshots. Whilst I don't play on CS as much as I would kinda like to, it is obvious to everyone that there have been problems with Goldfish. Gotta get that solid proof.

or they might just not post there at all, or do it in another non-xg discord, or somewhere else. that's the entire point of testing it for a while, you can't just assume theyll post dumb shit on the xg discord elsewhere

I personally have not used the #shitposting channel much, but it seems to be the stem of a lot of drama and toxicity nowadays, and it's honestly getting annoying.
Honestly I don't think it's fair to compare this to that spray situation. We have several rules in place for sprays because we don't want porn or gore on our servers, and sprays didn't end up getting disabled because in the end, we can all be mature enough to choose proper sprays, even if there are a few problems here and there. The shitposting channel however, has very few rules or regulations, and pretty much serves only as a place to be immature and toxic. The channel is literally called shitposting, after all. With the spray situation, sprays were going to be removed because of the actions of a bad few, and that was unfair. But this time, the bad few is the majority. 
Again, I don't use this channel much, so maybe my input has less value. But I personally don't like the idea of a shitposting server in a community like ours. We have a lot of rules set in place to against immaturity, toxicity, drama, and explicit gore/porn. Yet, we have a channel on our discord where none of those things apply, and people can do everything they can't normally do, like post explicit things, spam, and start drama. I don't like the behavior it encourages, and I don't believe it falls in line with the rest of the server's beliefs. If you really wanna shitpost, talk about drama, or post gore or porn or stuff like that, then you should really keep it off our discord, and make one of your own. +1 for its removal.

There is a huge disagreement on whether or not "aged up" shit is allowed, and sometimes it's pretty hard to determine whether or not it's loli/child pornography. Basically impossible to tell without a huge fucking poster behind their head saying "I AM OVER THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT!11!11!!!"

Still annoying for staff members to moderate something that is 100% up to their discretion unless it's 100% obvious that the girl/guy is too young.  (Usually only possible with anime characters that have been given specific ages, and don't have child-like features. This means that the "I am a 1000-year-old dragon girl. Despite me having the physique of a 10-year-old, I am legal" argument doesn't exactly work.)
You keep making the exact same point over and over. "It is easy for staff to handle these situations." No. It. Is. Not.
Server rules don't apply to the shitposting channel. That is why spamming and other things are allowed there.
The most I can really do is give the people who like shitposting my sympathy, but when people are constantly violating the TOS on our servers, it doesn't exactly look too good for us.

keep this channel, its the only nsfw thing about xG and its a place of freedom to some, if the channel disappears ill probably just leave the discord server all together, I like to steal the memes and be myself without getting judged horrifically even though it doesn't stop normies from judging anyway, I like to shitpost, whether its porn, somewhat offensive memes, or just saying whatevers on my mind, all within the servers rules and guidelines, if you take the channel away people are just gonna start posting their offensive memes in other channels or just complain all-together, if people can't handle looking at #shitposting they can fuck off and mute the channel, i have a right to post whatever i want in the channel as long as its not against the servers rules, or discords TOS, keep the channel and crackdown on the stuff that shouldn't be posted, you cant please everyone, especially in a server and community of this size. 
 
I do however agree that if anything against the Discord TOS is posted, it needs to be addressed and handled accordingly, if the admins can't handle seeing that stuff, are they fit for the position? I can't blame anyone for not wanting to see people fucking animals, or gore, or child related stuff, that stuff should automatically be blacklisted by general consensus and knowledge and should be dealt with accordingly, and the people who post it should be dealt with accordingly.

Basically what I mean by this is that archiving is playing it safe, while just deleting it is more efficient. I'm 100% for removing the shitposting channel as long as we don't have our brony/furry/other fetish children bleeding their discussions into other chats. I don't specifically hate people who have fetishes (feet, furries, bronies, etc.), but I have some moral gripes with people who are interested in shit like actually fucking animals or children. There is a *huge* gray area when it comes to determining whether or not something/someone is too young in a pornographic picture, which then leads to incredibly long and pointless arguments.
In my honest opinion, I don't think we're half as mature as we should be when it comes to allowing NSFW channels. If people can't accept that their porn is against TOS / not favored among the rest of the populace, then we shouldn't have an NSFW channel in the first place. Just having this thread posted sparked an incredibly long argument that should not have to be discussed, thus proving that we're nowhere near where we should be on maturity regarding the subject. Now, I'm not saying those involved in the argument are immature, but rather it just shouldn't have happened at all. Evidence and claims were provided for at least one argument, which is pretty good for a gaming community.
tl;dr - Arguing over what is or what isn't against TOS is stupid. If something is constantly causing problems and breaking the rules of our platform, it should be extinguished, no questions asked.

Over the past week or so I've been doing alot to work on myself to return. I've dealt with some stressful things that have been making me really toxic. I hope this is the last post I'll make on hellos and goodbyes because I want to stay.

Young players are part of the player base we have here, whether we like it or not.
Instead of trying to ostracize them, how about helping them change and become better?
By doing so, we should manage to keep a good player base whilst reducing the amount of issues.

Well it really depends on how you see it but the reason they break is so you don't hug onto one weapon in the game for the whole game. Sure sometimes it can make you feel sad that your amazing blizzard wand broke but if you held onto it the whole game it would make you reliant and not experiment with other weapons which could be better or even more powerful than your slushy machine in a stick.  

Meeting rudeness with more rudeness. You're not exactly orchestrating the best cycle there. @Topaz has the concept pretty spot on and while I'd say people were a bit overboard with jumping on your actions, it wasn't meant with the intent to beat you down, but just the consequences of what happened. It was a situation to take a step back and learn from, but how you've chosen to retaliate here doesn't exactly scream personal improvement.

+1 Logic is a really fun and responsible guy. I really like his attitude towards both staff and players. He is someone responsible and accountable. 
Also just to throw my opinion in on this, even if he did say that, I feel that it shouldn't affect his chances of getting staff. We have all said things we regret and I can't really think of a staff member who hasn't broken at least 1 rule. In addition, I'm almost positive that it was someone like 10toothlesswonders because he has gotten others to say the n word before as well as said it himself. This doesn't mean that toothless is a terrible person, because I believe people should have the right to say what they want to say as long as they are being honest about it (of course i still enforce this rule regardless of my opinion on the subject).

Thank you for making this Kypari, it's a good reminder of what we as staff should strive to be. Truthfully, I feel like the staff lineup we have right now is the best it has ever been. Of course no staff group (or any individual staff member for that matter) is perfect, I've made my fair share of dumb decisions and mistakes, we all have. But after being here for over a year, I feel confident in saying the staff roster right now is the best I've seen yet, and I hope we all continue to grow and improve to make xG even better. 
I've heard some people say 'Make xG Great Again'. Nah mate, to me, xG has always been great. Not kissing up (jk give me DM), I believe the xG community is one of the best TF2 communities there is, and I'm honored to be a part of it. I've had a lot of great times and made several good friends, and I hope to have many more in the future. ?
