Agreed. Upgraded recently from HTC (RIP) to Huawei by picking up the Mate 20 Pro- and I can say with certainty that I have 0 regrets. Only grievance is with EMUI, but just slapped Nova Launcher on this bad boy and let me tell you, I'm never looking back.

"I wasn't there for when he got banned, so I don't know the situation other than what was spoken about previously. My only interaction with anything relevant to his ban was what I posted on his "goodbye" thread regarding his immediate previous situation/outburst. I don't really have an opinion either way on pear, he's funny to hang around and talk with sometimes and other times it makes you want to cut your ears off but that's just him. I tend to ignore most of the things he says because typically it would be him talking mad shit and I don't really get butthurt by shit talking unless it gets personal.
I had previously warned him before that his actions and how he behaves on discord and servers do warrant a ban and that he has gotten a lot of leniency considering I was the one who would always be around when he was since we would play at pretty similar times and typically all the shit he did/said would be in voice with people who thought it was funny. I do believe that some form of ban is justified/required and don't think he will fully grasp the scope that his actions even on the internet have consequences unless he has to wait out some form of punishment.
I don't know what made Virr decide to make his ban "indefinite, he can protest it later just not now" but that's his decision and all I've done since is attempt to keep people like Char and Red from being on the servers and attempting to rile up a shitstorm by spamming on the servers about it and getting loud and aggressive using names like "fuck Virr" (the #justice4pear part of their names was fine as without the actual voice spam and angry loud remarks constantly it was just a silent peaceful protest.)"

To me it seems pear has gotten significantly better with his attitude and taking things personally, as well as not having received messages in a long time saying "NIGGER!", and I'm usually all for a second chance on people if they feel like they have changed but go into it full well knowing the thin ice they are on especially when freshly coming back.
We've had our share of people given 2nd 3rd and even 9th chances in xg, which isn't knocking them, or the ones giving them so many chances as they are all valued members with good input and helped in forming xg to what it is/was. that being said, I haven't heard much about pear recently other than he got into a situation with @Duke and that they were arguing for a while and now duke is relatively ignoring him. ?‍♂️
Remember that your actions have consequences, and in the end you are the one to live with those consequences, not those that enact punishment(s) for breaking rules, and as always if you feel depressed or potentially more, that there are always ways out there to seek proper medical and psychological help for free.

I work for the devil itself (Electronic Arts) on FIFA for a wage that is laughable. BUT, I don't work directly for EA, but rather for a contracting company (VMC, Volt, Keywords Studios, w/e the hell it's called nowadays)... That is hired under EA.
That technicality means you cannot roast me alive for the atrocities brought upon by EA.

Would like to first address one of OP's main points: no, in my opinion a player should not be given a ghost promotion based solely on their social status in the community- that is, the amount of which the player is generally 'liked'. For obvious reasons, this doesn't reflect their capability to moderate servers or to perform administrative duties. Yes, this is something that should be taken into consideration by the higher-ups because there are always two sides to a coin (eg. "fun" vs "serious" staff), but it should definitely not be a deciding factor nor should it be the 'go-to' precedence for whether someone is deserving of it or not.
Ghost promos were typically reserved for those who "wowed" their peers and higher-ups. More than it was a pleasantry, it was a way for higher-ups to let a player know that they were exceeding expectations as a Member and that their efforts were being noticed to the degree that they could improve the overall server experience for players, not that they were just "likable". I say "was" because I'm speaking from past experience, however I'm confident that this still applies even today.
With that said, I personally am not a huge fan of the situation where anyone gets that opportunity just because of connections; whether that be regularly playing games with a higher-up or just generally being friends. This is primarily due to the conflict of interest and generally bias nature of this sort of situation. Should there be a moment where a player [who is closely associated with any higher-up of the respective Division] is recommended for a promotion [and is interested in taking it], there should absolutely be a Staff application, at the very least as a formality. This is simply to mitigate bias in the process, and while it won't eliminate all bias it will certainly minimize it by giving the community an opportunity to present their opinions/concerns. Although there is something to be said for these instances where it seems like bias/favoritism rules the ghost promos.
Those who work hard should receive recognition for it, but the sad fact is that this does not always happen and it can certainly feel like there is some sort of bias at play when others do. But it really speaks for itself: much like any other community-driven process, whether that be in the workplace or here at Xeno Gamers, an opportunity may or may not present itself and fall into your lap- it is not always based on some form of favoritism. You could be the hardest working person and not receive recognition, but at that point you need to ask yourself: did you voice your opinion? Are you actively making an effort to let the higher-ups know that you are deserving of it? Or are you simply waiting for it to happen. Consider even, that you may not play at the same hours that a higher-up may, thereby making it that much more difficult to be recognized. It's easy to scream "bias/favoritism", but know that it likely won't help you. Sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands and to simply own it. Yes, a ghost promo is a special case, but that should not make it any more desirable than outright applying for a Staff position.
All-in-all, trust in your higher-ups to be making the right call/decision with minimal bias/favoritism- because believe it or not, they also rely heavily on you to provide your opinion, comments and feedback all the same, even in situations like ghost promotions. If it helps, keep in mind that they are unpaid, just the same as any other Staff, and that their best interests are for the community (which is more than I can say for my employer).

CS:GO has a ton of members that were in xG back in 2010 - 2012 and generally older than the TF2 crowd which leads it to being more laid back as others have said. A lot of us grew up with xG and matured so it's definitely different if you're used to ONLY the TF2 side of xG. Both are fun though, with great staff so come stop by if you want ?

Review:(Cause I needed to rewrite review):This game to ME is mostly all strategy and it harbors A lot of toxic players, my first game and I get a guy calling another guy a dumbass for picking a class when he was new. My second game a guy, literally just went ham.. I took 30 minutes for him to pick a class, and he left the game right when we started, so there's that. Now onto the main core of this review, strategy. OOWEE Mama, this game is hard to get used to, I only play Wilson, cause if I play any other class am bad at it. This game is very hard to get used to, (and I know some characters have more difficulty than others...) But in all honesty this is a very good game, and i'm glad that I won the raffle. I might stop playing tf2 just to play this. Jk. Well if this game made a member application I would give it a BIG +1!

As a old person who’s gotten permed before I say this I just wanted to say thank you for giving me a second chance at being on your servers.
 
Now right after I’ve gone on I’ve gone from 13 days on activity to 16 days in the span of me getting unbanned, and I’ve gotten up to the all mighty 100,000 score. But in all honesty I really don’t play anything else other than xG I wanna be apart of of this community so badly, and I know my past mostly back lashes what I’m saying right now but I’ve been doing my best to improve my reputation and behavior on xG. I act when someone breaks the rules and I quickly set them on the right path and I’ve helped with an outbreak along with skittles, because people wouldn’t stop with racial slurs and I stopped the situation but all the credit goes to Skittles for muting the 3-6 players who said racial slurs last night depending on when you read this. But I really can’t play tf2 without going on xG. So I hope you guys will accept this Membership Application and i hope I can once again be apart of xG!
