Is the VSG prefix in your name for a clan? I don't believe being in other clans is allowed for those applying for a membership.

I might be wrong, they may have changed the rules. I stopped associating myself with this clan for a while and haven't bothered to take another look at the rules.

    • Not already a member of a different clan.

However, this community seems to be mostly Xbox/PS4 or Rainbow Six Siege (pc) related. Usually the issue arises if they are in a rival community.

People just suicide to achieve this a LOT when getting the role anyways. The point about it being an exploit though is more that it is something where an extra measure needs to be taken by people in a way they shouldn't be in the first place to break it and it's not the rtd role itself that is causing the problem. For example, because people can use the meet the medic taunt glitch in water, should we disable that taunt?

The difference being between the Meet The Medic Taunt and people using rtd to exploit around the snail effect is that the taunt is FAR easier to enforce as:

    1. Not many people play medic
    2. A large portion of people actually know about the bug (but in comparison, not many people know about the snail rtd exploit but it's still a thing that grape found out and he'd likely tell all of his friends who are decent at the game). This would mean that people would call out the taunt expoit but they wouldn't call out the snail rtd exploit despite it still being an actual exploit.

Why focus on fixing one but just disregard the other?

Because Forced Taunt is FF2 only so if we can't fix it it's whatever (at least that's what was put on trello. Also toxic worked on FF2 for some reason too)

f not, im pretty sure we've been over this more than once but it is an issue that in the unlikely chance of it coming up doesn't result in someone being able to abuse it to an advantage since they can't attack while doing so and even if they could get an advantage from it, it is still blatant exploiting and can be handled as such. So if we can prevent quick weapon switch lets do that, but if not then it isn't enough of a problem to disable the roll.

If it's an exploit that we don't even need on the server, I would rather have it disabled. Regardless of them being unable to shoot, it still allows them to run away safely back to the base and entirely defeats the purpose of the role. It would also be quite difficult to enforce in the first place since it's random chance so all in all it would be much more agreeable if we decided to disable a single rtd effect.

In terms of epileptic seizures, when caused by light flashes they are triggered by a few factors. First there's the rate of the flash, with the threshold is at around  ten flashes per second minimalistically and more likely only in the range of 20-30 flashes per second. I can't say I know how fast drugged changes the screen, but I fully doubt it is at a rate of multiple times per second.

Another major factor is extreme contrast between light.  This would involve things such as only part of an image moving rapidly or police/emergency lights in the dark. In both cases it is the focus of the eye on these that makes triggering a seizure more likely to happen. Drugged lacks this as it affects the entire screen and acts more like a backdrop instead of being a singular focal point that draws the eyes to it.

The likely hood of drugged causing seizures is pretty much null as far as I can tell, and thinking it might is really only uneducated buttumption. Hell, there's probably lighting on some maps that would be more likely to trigger seizures. Alternatively it could instead be removed for being just annoying but I world be very catious with removing any effect on such grounds since it's attributed to the purpose of having negative effects. It is actually comparable to mlg sniper on FF2 in terms of annoyance, but doesn't last nearly as long and can be opted out of at any time.

Elcark the science guy -1 on disabling drugged

  4. Another topic I would like to look into would be various rtd commands that people have brought up issues with.

    • Snail (Switching weapons fast enough makes you normal speed)
    • Forced Taunt (not working, disabled for now on FF2)
    • Drugged (seizure-inducing?)

If we could look into snail being fixed that would be great, but in regards to forced taunt I think it's fine being disabled. In regards to drugged, I would personally say it's better safe than sorry and we should just disable the rtd before something happens.

  5. Alright, we should probably just pick one and then if it's no bueno then we pick a different one. If all things turn out well, we can keep it! Alternatively, if things go bad, we can just remove it all-together and I mean permanently to correct myself earlier.

The sp is provided it looks like, so with a bit of tooling around, probably?

The second one I think is meant for bhop specific maps and such, not so much dr. But it might work, maybe...

Would be 100% worth giving a go! @Caleb956 said that he found a bhop plugin in DMS, so if possible could you provide the link?

  7. +1 Deko has been a very pleasant and friendly person to be around on the servers and also shows a very keen interest in staff and climbing ranks. I would be more than happy to see you get moderator.

  8. Despite our common moments of disagreement on certain topics, I think you have been really pleasant to talk to on discord ever since you started talking again and I would be more than happy to see you get staff there +1

  9. I personally think that bagel has been definitely one to lean more to a neutral stance and get along with most people to a degree where I feel he could make appropriate decisions with as minimal bias as possible +1

thats the broken one i replaced on surf, no sugoi

I'm having major trouble navigating alliedmodders, searching just won't work for some reason. If there are any other bhop plugins that we could look into that would be great, but alternatively +1 for removing bhop on deathrun

  11. I'm not sure how much you understand the membership application process. If you have never been a member of xG before, you can apply and get in as long as you have no -1s, pretty simple. However, for someone who has left/been kicked out of the community, you need 5 positive vouches of which at least 2 must be from a Higher Up (Division Manager or higher) for your application to be accepted. You didn't get yourself noticed enough by the other higherups to a degree where they felt as if they could positively or negatively vouch for you. You need to make a better impression on the higherups if you want to get back into xG, which may I remind you that you left more than likely due to not getting staff.

On the note about staff and how they act, if there are any staff members acting poorly then please get a demo of send a message to a higherup. If that person is a higherup, get a demo and send it to another higherup.

EDIT: I guess I should probably explain. Reading stories over the mic is essentially the same thing as playing music through your phone on the mic. If it was/is considered spam, I also believe that votes allowing this would also be rendered null. I was told that I couldn't make votes to let someone spam when I was staff, and I don't believe that's changed.

its allowed with 70% vote as long as theres no staff veto @Tatost

Pretty much what Seg said. 70% votes make this fine. Of course, there are lines for votes that literally break rules, but reading stuff on mic is definitely not on the same level as say HEY EVERYONE LET'S SPAWNKILL ON SURF ? so it's fine as long as there's a vote ^^

Would be funny if he made this thread and he did a vote on the server and it didn't get 70% though

We have a tgh map request thread I'm pretty sure, also if you were gonna do this you shoulda put a poll

Nah it's fine. We could probably give it a test-run to see how people feel. We don't need a vote for this.
