I actually have a demo, and I've found out I was airblasted, though that shouldn't mean any less because you often see pyros on that map trying to airblast you off the edge. People probably still won't change their minds though *shrug*

Not up to us. This is the best we can do and we have made as much of an effort as we can to make it more vocal on the server, such as the message in chat and it seems to have worked too

Literally got stuck for 5 minutes freefalling. If a map has a bug like this, that of which is so common to happen, it's clearly not worth having it on the rotation. Yes I did strafe, I was there, I was talking about it on the server for a good 5 minutes. Of course you can just type "kill" in console or change classes, but we have to consider the less experienced people firstly who don't know how to escape these situations, and secondly we need to reconsider we have map that forces you to kill yourself so often. Map is poop and unfun regardless of this glaring problem. +1

If the majority of people don't like it then why would we keep it? Yeah you can just type rtv but if a majority of people don't want the map then we shouldn't have it. This isn't specific to this situation either, I stand by this for all maps. If the majority of people want to keep this map then that's fine by me and the people who don't like it can rtv, but we shouldn't just dismiss it as "just rtv" if a larger portion of players dislike the map in the first place

TIL You can't punish people on the servers for breaking rules if you don't like them because you get called biased. Secondly you can't prove that those screenshots were before or after those bans, and even if you could that wouldn't change much other than just demonstrate how you're trying to turn this on me because you don't like me yourself.

"there's nothing wrong with it except this problem" I find it funny too but if people are getting annoyed about it, clearly something needs to be done about it. The spawns on surf are next to each other and everyone who has connected (which from what I've seen is quite a portion of people) can't talk on mic because of something really pointless and small. Not even just being unable to talk, clearly people find it annoying as well

On surf, the spawns are almost always right next to each other (linear maps), so it definitely makes more sense to disable aia on just surf only. Despite being a proximity-based noise, the entire server would hear it that have loaded in. As I said I don't really mind overall, it's a small issue but I have heard a few people getting flustered about it. Now I've thought about it I would just make it surf based only.

I don't mind doing this, but it's not surf specific - it happens on all servers. It can be pretty frustrating when you're trying to speak and people are charging infinitely into the walls, though it is very funny otherwise. +1 to disable aia on pre-round for all servers, but as I said I am mostly indifferent.

We have had incidents like this in the past, such as venom. I wouldn't say it's totally out of the ordinary anymore

I am not going to be the deciding vote on this. @mrnutty12 Me and you have definitely had issues. Sometimes if I'm honest, I can't stand you because you can complain so much and become very rude and toxic. On the other hand, you have also shown and can be friendly and look towards the betterment of the server. I'm going to -1 for the sake of not being the final vouch, though it's nothing personal and I would stay neutral if elcark wasn't a butt Good luck on your application

Unfortunately, as much as we don't want staff discretion involved, there will always be staff discretion involved with this rule since one situation can be so different from the others in terms of severity, in which some staff members would allow the voice or some would not at all. As annoying as it is there is no rule re-wording that can create an environment where every staff member agree on whether someone gets muted or not. If you are told by a staff member that you haven't broken a rule, but told by another staff member you have broken a rule, it would be best if you just didn't do what you were doing for the staff member to call you out on it. We can elabroate on the rule all we want, but it is impossible for every staff member to have the same opinion on muting someone or not every single time.

It has now been added, though the rule should have still been enforced on surf before it had been added by virr today, even if it wasn't consistent with the other servers by mistake.

If staff are doing that then I'd like you to PM me or any other higherup about stuff like that and we'll sort things out! ? The thing is, even if you aren't intending to annoy people, it can still get on peoples nerves when you do voices. I think the severity of immature voices needs to be addressed and I will look into that along with the clarification as well
