  1. imo the people who wanna get random crits removed are people who try way too hard to be good at this game. after all we're having trade servers and not "competitive" servers. i wouldnt wanna see random crits being removed since it just seems very dumb to me.

additionally, considering the vote was 13-11 and does not represent the whole community (since not everyone has a forum account) we should do some other votes on the servers to see what people think

  2. Unsure why the rocket launcher and air strike would stop working, I've already looked into the buff banner problems and I could find no way to really fix, I'll look into the rocket launcher though.

I can confirm. Also, sadly the plugin we're using is a beta from 2013 [if i recall correctly]. That may explain why there's some issues as well.

  3. Security is worth the price.

Lmao don't get me wrong I prefer an iPhone at all times but you gotta ask yourself why iOS is so "secure".

The main reason is simple: You can't download anything through Safari [or any other browser]. So yes, this means you can't just download a virus from a fishy website, but this also means you can't download anything at all through your browser, like nothing. My friends who don't have an iPhone can download applications that are not even in the play store that they're downloaded somewhere from the internet. I couldn't even download a YouTube video with my iPhone which really sucks. Saying that iOS is better only because it's "more secure" seems somewhat wrong to me lmao.

  5. #GirlWeiners2014

I remember a lot of crazy shit, man. From Friday Night Fanfics to spamming Teamspeak with annoying ass shit, to just being dumb in TGH.

    Good times.

i remember when you were DM/DL and then got CM so I could go for that DM spot :d

  6. A few things people asked me to change, if anyone wants to help @Vexx @virr

    Freak Fortress 2:

    • nerf the short circuit so the stun attack does a lot more metal (according to bone its in the FF2 plugin code, but i couldnt find the right line)

    • switch blitzkrieg theme to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56MIIJ79EOw (thats easy)

    uber upgrades:

    • the conch, battalions backup and the buff banner duration upgrade on uber upgrade doesnt do anything

    general:

    • possibly give the 420 title a better type of green color

  7. I'm gonna be real here. The reason why I don't use TeamSpeak that much is because I simply don't wanna talk to people.

If I'm playing games, I wanna focus on games [unless I'm playing with real life friends] and if I'm doing something else, I don't wanna talk to people that are basically strangers to me.

    >But you are a higher up!!!

Yes, very true. I'm not saying my argument is legitimate here, but that's the reason. Of course I have joined staff meetings and private higher up chats before and I have no problem with that, but I generally simply don't wanna talk to people that I don't really know.

This does not imply that I'm not using TS at all. Before I went on that trip, I was there for at least a few hours everyday to play with my irl friends. Even @xCabrio joined at some point. I'm just saying that I personally dislike it.

EDIT: In response to Chrono: I have been a lot on TeamSpeak with my irl friends recently. You must have missed me, which is kinda not avoidable since I'm going to school and I live in a different time zone.

  8. I would still be ok with a day ban or a warning. Really the guy does not warrant worse punishment from that thread than a day.

Well, okay. Since the next step would have been a ban anyways I'm gonna +1.

If we are doing general discussion, I want to bring up the whole no links in chat "rule" or lack thereof.

Yep! Exactly what this thread is for.

I wouldn't have an issue with this but every time a generic link to something that isn't advertisement (eg posting a profile link for people to add you on steam) various staff and players say it is against the rules. If we want to keep no links in chat as a rule that staff enforce that is just fine by me all I want is that it be explicitly stated.

I agree, I think I brought this up a while ago as well. We should definitely write it down but add a few exceptions, such as forum links, steam links and possibly YouTube links as well. Not too sure though.

Oh and everyone keeps telling me the giveaway bot is broken...

    @Rhododendron

  9. Other than that I would just hope no one abuses the system by breaking one rule, then going and breaking a different one as to avoid longer bans.

If people are purposely abusing the system by breaking different rules over and over again, we can just label that as something like intentional trolling which will be punished harsher - just an idea.

  10. So basically, here's another thread that we can hopefully use to discuss ban protests, ban requests and general issues on the servers @Vexx @Sesh @mrnutty12 @virr

I don't wanna do this all in our promo demo convo so this may be a bit more convenient!

    Ill start!

Pending - I AM FULLY ERECT - Team Fortress 2 | Xeno Gamers

Currently Vexx and I are for warning the User in question, while @mrnutty12 and @Sesh would wanna give him a day ban.

We need to come to a result, as the thread has been open for ages.

How can we come to terms on this one?

  11. I have planned on making a thread like this for at least a week now. Thanks to @Forest I can come up with something that is hopefully as clear as possible. So, here's something about the general punishment system and how I've always understood it:

Basically, Players were punished accordingly based on the correlation between their Ban History and their current standing, much like how it is now. The only difference is that the bans that the Player had previously received had to be relevant in order to justify an escalation of duration or severity.

To provide some context, consider the following:

    Our current punishment system: Warn > [Gag/Mute] > Kick > Ban 1 day > Ban 1 week > [ban 1 month] > Permanent Ban

(Ban times are up to the discretion of the Higher-Ups)

A Player was previously banned for a day for micspamming on Servers. This is the Player's first ban. The next day, the Player micspams again and is then punished with a week ban for failure to comply with their first Day ban. After the week is up, the Player rejoins and accidentally freekills a Red/T. At this point, a Staff Member decides to permanently ban the Player for their offense as per the punishment system. Is this justified?

The answer is 'no', it is not justified. The reasons are two-fold. First and foremost, the Player's previously existing bans have no direct correlation or relevance to "freekilling". Secondly, the rules being broken are two completely separate guidelines that we abide by: General Server Rules (mic spam, racism, advertising, etc.), and Server Specific Rules (camping, freekilling, spawncamping, etc.); therefore they should not have any sway when involving one or the other in terms of bans.

I hope that made it a bit more clear to let you guys know how I [and a few others] have believed the system to be, especially to @Sesh and @Vexx.

What do you think of this? Is this really as bad as you guys seem to think? Once we agree on a punishment protocol, I [or anyone else] would also like to make a PSA clarifying this to our staff and our members.
