  1. Can't understand why this thread was downvoted so much. Granted, I don't play on the servers anymore, but that was already a somewhat "controversial" rule when I was DL.

I've never been a fan of that rule since I actually think it's quite stupid. I had my best times in xG on Jailbreak, a server that is based on people using voice chat. Imagine if you were to strictly make sure only one person is talking on mic. That would ruin most of the fun, to be honest, since while the gamemode itself is pretty mediocre, the community part of it was fun. The interactions with 20+ people were what made it quite unique and of course it happens that people talk over each other.

I think this is more of a common sense thing (haha @Kypari ? ). If there's two people talking and they accidently interrupt each other, nobody needs a staff member saying "GUYS! ONLY ONE PERSON ON MIC!". If someone is talking to someone through voice chat and another person happens to join during that situation and is like "hey guys, what's up", there's no need to enforce that certain rule. Another scenario that is a bit more elaborate: If someone would tell the server a story of how we walked his dog and some other dog almost attacked him, and someone interrupts asking a question relevant to the topic, (i.e. "what breed was the dog that attacked you) on voice chat, then I don't think anyone needs to do anything about it.

If, however, someone is purposely disturbing a conversation to "troll/harass" someone, that's a different case where a staff member should take action.

That being said, I don't think you can make rules that cover every situation possible. There are several cases where that rule makes no sense at all, but there are also cases where it would make sense. Staff has to do some thinking sometimes.

Still kinda dumb to give @maf427, an active player on the servers last time I checked, so many bad ratings tbh. He made a very reasonable and constructive* thread imo, but at the end I'll just have to agree to disagree with these people.

    * EDIT: Maybe not the way he worded it, but the point he's making.

  2. I believe the choice here is very self-evident due to the detailed description @fink gave in his ban protest.

Not only does he regret what he has done, he is also genuinely sorry for it.

Definitely a +1 from me. Should be unbanned immediately. Love seeing real change in people.

  3. There are some decisions we don't fully explain to the public due to the fact it causes unnecessary drama, for example in the past Rabid was discussed to be DM of CS:GO or CS:S (I don't remember which one) but I refused it due to how many times I had to personally ban him or punish him (this was for CS:GO). Rabid is one of my closest friends in this community but when this was discussed 6 years ago, why would we make a post explaining that Rabid didn't get DM due to his past? What benefit is there for the community to know something like that?

I believe she was talking about the times where, for example, Silence added a bhop pluggin all out of the sudden which everyone hated, not some internal decision that hasn't happened anyways. Another example could be simple rule changes that no one announced.

  4. because of 1 higher up's bias against me. I was being punished for no good reason.

I could write 10 thousand paragraphs to discuss everything you stated, but in conclusion I agree with a lot. And instead of continuing the arguments we already had, I'll just agree to disagree with some things.

Welcome to the step down squad, though!

However, there are two points that I wanna say something about:

    3. Majority matters.

It's been a huge problem for a while where higher ups have to make unanimous decisions. What this means for all the other staff is that if 1 higher up disagrees despite everyone else agreeing on said thing. It won't go through. The voice of one is too strong in this community specially for higher ups who don't go on servers enough to see what is going on or that just choose to disregard the intent of the community and more importantly the other staff. To fix this, it should be that majority rules. It should be that the community or staff vote count for 1 higher up in of themselves, because giving the people no say is what's going to kill the community.

In my opinion majority decisions don't always lead to the best. Just think about why you don't vote for political decisions directly and elect representatives instead. I think your logic is in some instances very understandable, but in others not.

    6. Witnesses matter.

Good idea but it has too many downsides imo. I mean, just think about how devided this clan is in certain groups. Imagine if one of these groups would want to get someone demoted. They could simply just agree on a wrong story and accuse someone falsey.

To conclude: Sad to see more staff step down, but I can understand the reasoning behind it. This clan is by far not perfect. Also, since I've been a higher up for like two years, I wanna tell you that - as long as i was a higher up - we always tried to do what was best for the community and sometimes it failed, however, I don't think anyone is intentionally doing something you really hate.

  5. When I first saw you I would have definitely -1ed you due to your toxic behavoir.

However, I believe you changed. I haven't seen you in game recently but before that you seemed to be quite nice and I also believe you know the rules. Septic additionally browses the forums too which is a pretty good thing imo.

I also had a huge misunderstanding with him once that could have easily turned into a war between the two of us (I was kind of at fault there) but he was super chill about it and not confrontational at all.

Can't plus one though since I don't play enough to judge you, but good luck!

  6. Haven't seen him recently but I know him from back in the days. He was mod several times and knows how to do his job. He's also pretty mature and knows the rules and everything. The only thing that is negative about him (as far as I recall) that after some time his activity completely drops and he steps down and then comes back about half a year later ;).

  7. @Amymaniac

I remember you. You're probably not refering to Kittylicious, but to Miss Fluff or whatever her name was back in the days from JB. No idea what ever happened to her. I've recently talked to Avenger (Jared), but he has been offline for almost a month now. You probably still remember me though!
