Spray rule has been very slightly re-worded:
Sprays, avatars and items that are able to be customized cannot contain the following: genitalia/explicit nudity whatsoever, racism, hate symbols, gore, derogatory content and images of sexualized minors (this includes drawn images) There is also a section in the staff manual that will specify points of sprays that are controversial.

Earlier on the DR server, I brought up the subject of adding Bhop to our Deathrun server, like I did a months ago in this thread here: This thread here
First, let's go over the Bhop Plugin in question, which is this plugin here: Fysics Control
The plugin allows quite a bit of customizing, including a max speed cap. For more info, a Scout's normal speed is 400. Our Deathrun plugin also allows the Death's base walk speed to be altered (current I believe is 400).
 
Secondly, I'd like to go over why I think adding Bhop would be a good idea: 
It adds another aspect to the gameplay other than "Run in/run out".   It makes what would normally be impassable traps passable, traps that are originally unfair.  It would also give the Runners a bit of a confidence boost, since they have more of a chance of bypassing a trap. This would speed up rounds quite a bit instead of Runners standing at a trap they're too scared to try and beat for 20 minutes.  
Finally, I'd like address issues that may cause people to feel strongly against Bhop being added:
"Adding Bhop makes the Runners way too fast!". Simply add a speed cap either at, or slightly lower than Death's base speed. "Death's reaction time isn't good enough!". Most traps are instant, with a fairly large area of effect. Plus a lot of maps have choke points, curves, or uneven terrain which makes having a consistent hop a lot harder. "Bhoppers will jump the entire map in a single bound/will be moving at mach 5!". In order to keep up speed, you have to keep a consistent hop. The settings in the plugin can make it more or less forgiving on the timing as well as how much of a strafe is needed to even gain speed. Also, speed caps.    
I feel adding Bhop could help make our server more original when compared to other servers, and could help keep it populated/popular among players. We could also have a trial run for a short period of time to test it. If it's not fitting to the server, so be it, we simply remove it and move on. I'm not saying we absolutely need to add or lest our servers die a horrible and slow death, but it should at least considered.
As always, post any of your concerns or how you'd feel about Bhop being added, whether you're for or against the idea.

Since it's been 4 months or so since the last Overwatch Community Night, a group of people including myself have wanted another one to happen. Since I've been hounding @virr to do something about it (love u daddy), I asked @Lithium about it and we need some new gamemode ideas, which is why I'm making this thread. So with our combined brainpower we can come up with some pretty mediocre-at-worst(/best) gamemodes.

My opinion on that still hasn't changed. I think egossi would be a good staff member, but giving him admin immediately is unfair to all the mods that have been trying to work their way up for quite a while already.

I am so so sorry for what I did, @Rabid, and I urge you to hear me out. Even though you never want to hear from me again I feel I owe you an explanation as to whatever happened. Yes, a lot of the last few status updates were about you, but that's BECAUSE I didn't want to lose a friend and I was afraid it was happening and at the same time hoping that you realized what you meant to me. Obviously, I screwed that up.
 
Yes, the spams were baseless and something you shouldn't have cared about. Yes, the fight never happened. I never did hit @jubens45 for shit talking you behind your back, and yes he never did call you that. Why I made these up is something I will never understand. All I know is that I've never done ANYTHING so wrong in my life and the consequence is that I have to suffer. I proved myself to be the biggest dick-headed, loser this world has ever seen and you have every right not to want to hear from me again.
 
What I did is beyond all belief of anyone sane, for I crossed the line of trust and left along in its wake the destruction of honesty, faith and everything else that constitutes friendship. No, I did not spam you to make myself sound cool, it was part of the attempt to get back what I feared I was losing and I know now that I actually hastened it. You have NO idea how much I regret my actions of that day. I know @Schpetzel MIGHT have told you a long time back "don't trust him, he'll eventually lead to something bad." And you may have ignored him, saying nothing like that is ever going to happen. And I cannot tell you how much it pains me to have broken your trust, how much it rips me from the inside to have been such an absolute dog. And if he didn't, I'm still so so sorry.

Homing Balls are neat. They're a pretty awesome mechanic for those who play Scout to really support the team, but as it stands they're unbalanced.
I like the idea of Homing Balls, something to stun the Boss so the rest of the team can rack up damage. With some Bosses, that's the only way to get in a lot of damage on them.
 
If we could somehow nerf them to where they only do what I would call the "Walking Stun", which lasts like 3-5 seconds and lets them still move, then that'd be great.
But until then, I feel like they should be removed. Not only for balance issues, but for the fact that Bosses can use the ability as well.

So I broke my leg yesterday and am just miserable laying in bed, I'm not sleeping so I have loads of time to kill. I'm already onto season 2 of Samurai Jack but when that shows over I'll have nothing. Suggest some shows for ya boy to watch. I'll even watch anime if it's not TOO weeby. I liked Durarara and AOT and FMA, and obviously the classics (bebop, trigun, DB/Z) please I'm going to go crazy.

Season 2 of AOT is airing currently, highly recommended if you enjoyed the first one!

So this is just a for fun thread and not an actual suggestion, incase anyone gets the wrong idea, but long story short in my government class our warm up today was to design an effective leadership structure for any large group of people that would fit on a notecard, and since online communities were allowed I chose xG. Here goes. It's really not that interesting.
 
 
4 CMs, one vote a piece, if tie, goes to council. Council is any odd number of "elder" members who are appointed by CMs, but can be removed with a CM majority vote OR by a community poll of members with %70+ approval, simple council majority breaks tie. Council can deny a promo from DLs by majority vote, with majority quorum, but if the same person is brought up to be promo'd the next cycle, it must be a 70% or higher council vote the second time.

You don't understand where that information is going, and that's scary, I get that. But do you know how much information Discord handles?
Literally billions of messages have been sent. It'd be ridiculous to think we, a small gaming community, would be spied on actively.
 
What are the pros? Well, for one, accessibility. No one uses Teamspeak anymore. How many of you use it just to get on XG's server and nothing else? It's a pretty big barrier to entry.
 
Discord has a browser version, and is easy as hell to install. It's not computer intensive, and it's about accessible as it gets.
 
Also, hey, you don't need to pay server costs anymore. That's pretty good. Or you could keep both up-- that's up to you guys.
 
I've also heard an off-handed comment before that it's 'not good for big communities like XG', but there was no elaboration.
 
Either way, as a manager of a Discord community already, I'd like to hear your questions and concerns about it, so I can answer them.

Security issues, teamspeak runs with a solid set up that has been tested over numerous years and contains some top notch security for voip/text communication, Discord is still in terms of these kinds of programs... brand new.
As seen with skype and other programs it is a very common thing to attempt to use them as a means of stealing people's information. Teamspeak already has solid protection and encryption that is doubled up on with our server using it's own protection because it is hosted on the same box as some of the servers we run.
 
User Friendliness, literally the same thing. instead of having constant tabs where you are able to switch servers with the click of a button, you have to... oh wait, you can do the same exact thing in teamspeak. You can even private message users on teamspeak servers as well, the only user friendly note discord has over TS that I can see is that you can PM people without having to be in their server.
 
Stating that nobody uses TS anymore is pretty bold, I haven't looked at official numbers but from what I can see, small communities hover around discord as it is free to set up and they don't have to rent a server. these are typically communities that form on a free forum site and play games that they don't buy servers on or can't. they just group up a lot. and then on the other end, large communities like a few subreddits due to the fact that again, it is free... from a free forum style website... meanwhile if you go to most large server hosting communities/clans you see things like TS Mumble and Ventrillo. 3 very long standing voip programs.
