Not to xG, but to my computer. I spilt tea on my laptop. I did everything I could to save it, and it will still turn on and boot properly, but the keyboard is shorted and altogether fucked. It might improve in the next couple of days but I doubt it, and I can't even type my password to log in so I doubt an external keyboard would help. I probably wouldn't even be able to get it working without getting past the password. So I'm living without a computer until this one starts working again or I figure something else out. I'll miss tf2 and teamspeak so come visit me on the forums while I'm being an active DM. Not really much else to say here, I'm actually pretty depressed about this.

The people in the video who are being rude and trolling in chat are receiving a warning. They will be closely monitored, and if the behavior continues action will be taken.

The clarification of the spawncamping rule, which does not allow spawncamping on maps that have teleporters as spawn access (mostly nimbusland, hyrule, and Jolly Roger Bay) has been added to the motd to hopefully avoid future confusion.

Starting now, proven death threats and suicide threats are a instaperm. But if you fail to provide evidence, or if your evidence is obviously one sided and doesn't tell the whole story, we will throw it out. the burden of proof is on the reporter. Video or demo evidence is ideal. Chat logs should involve both parties. Any permeable offense is going to need as much proof as we need for hacking claims. A perm is a severe punishment, we don't want to make that decision uninformed.

+1 he's extremely active, one of the only people consistently trading on our servers, and is usually laid back and mature. A 45 second video that leaves most of the story out isn't enough to overrule my countless hours spent playing with him.

I really don't like the video as evidence, it's only 45 seconds long and there was obviously interaction before and after. Its honestly kind of shady that the ONLY thing the video covers is this (unless it was edited down in which case post the entire thing). Xerses was baited into retaliating, poor choice of words yes, but we have no idea what was said by either party before or after. the video is fishy evidence at best.

 

And on the topic of this particular flavor of spawncamping being illegal - it was not specified in the rules, and not everyone reads the forums - so obviously people will see "spawncamping is allowed" and roll with that. Doesn't seem fair to punish someone for breaking a rule they had no way of being aware of.

You guys should watch the video. Even though I saw you today, Xerses, you seems pretty serious on the video. At this point I don't really know what was going on. No one really knew the rules and this seems like a giant clusterfuck.

A mod should have been on. nobody knows what happened for sure. this is a huge clusterfuck. I'm voting -1 and lets make the rules clearer next time. I honestly do buy Xerses story. he saw corey banned for this, he knew better to a point where I doubt he would. plus the instigation and rampant rule breaking everywhere, let's just clarify warn and move on.

Also lets get rid of frantic factory and nimbusland. They're fun maps but people can't handle nice things and choose to camp teleports everytime. The players aren't mature enough to just have fun.

If this was a map where you teleport out of spawn (I.e. nimbusland), then you shouldn't be spawncamping. I'm okay with a short ban (day or two) since he went over the line, but this was all sorts of instigated. If I had been on while you guys were spawncamping a spawn teleport, your camp would have been nuked and the buldings destroyed. Also people purposely bodyblocking... where the hell were our mods?

I don't think being on a steam friends list is any proof that people worked together. I have 200 steam friends, I'm only really friends with about 50 of them. They are both regulars, them being steam friends because of a trade or something isn't unheard of. Also I don't like the talking behind peoples back thing, but even if he was talking shit about me to my face I probably wouldn't ban him for it. He could have complained in a much more productive way but I don't think people talking shit about us behind our back or otherwise should be a bannable offense. we're nowhere near perfect. just my two cents.

I've seen xerses on a lot, pretty much everyday. I don't think he would purposely troll the servers. I know him and COREY both pretty well, I don't think Xerses had anything to do with him they don't really ever chat and aren't close.

if what he did was separate though then that wouldn't matter
