  2. This suggestion is a bit more controversial. I'll try and explain it as simply as possible.

This is surf_air_arena_v4, one of the more popular arena maps on our surf server.

    ai.imgur.com_SU7yWDo.png.743219e36a304ddfcc87a6791e1a45c1.png

You spawn inside there. Placing a /cpsave in your team's spawn is fine. Placing a /cpsave when that's not your spawn is illegal.

    ai.imgur.com_DEOtj65.png.ffb5d61e890b7880d24f5044c693ee6a.png

Currently you can place your /cpsave on top of the enemy spawn regardless of if it is your spawn or not. The problem with this is that you can just place your /cpsave location on top of their spawn and get into the enemy team's spawn about half a second slower by loopholing the /cpsave in their spawn rule. This basically makes the entire /cpsave in their spawn rule completely useless as you can access their spawn just as easily but not break the rules by placing it in a very slightly different location. The area behind the spawn is about 3 seconds before you can enter their spawn if you're slow.

The reason behind the /cpsave in their spawn rule being illegal is to prevent spawnkilling. As spawnkilling is already illegal and /cpsaving in the opposing team's spawn causes no other harm, I would suggest that we remove the /cpsaving in the enemy team's spawn rule as there is no real reason to have it.

An alternate idea would be to make it so that you cannot place your /cpsave on top of their spawn at all if you can access ONLY THEIR SPAWN. If you can access both it should be fine.

This surf_utopia_v3. After beating the map (or completing a part of it) you can access TOP, which is above both spawns. This place you can fight legally and /cpsave up there as both spawns are located in the same vicinity.

  3. How come we ban people for using /calladmin when a staff member is already present? It's basically the same as talking to admins in teamchat starting with @ but not many people know that feature as well as /calladmin. I don't think anyone has ever meant any harm in using /calladmin with a staff on the server when they aren't abusing it with silly reasons.

Perhaps this rule should be removed? Of course the rule that you can't abuse it with reasons like mass freekill on Trade Gaming History should stay but I think that it would be good if we let people use /calladmin to report things on the server when staff are present secretly since it doesn't really cause any harm.

I would also like to suggest that we have a scheduled timer for where it tells people on the server in the chat that you can talk to staff using @ in teamchat and if people abuse it then they could be warned, kicked (etc).

    @Vexx @Bello @mrnutty12 @Sesh @Rejects

  4. Oh cool! I love events like this!

Probably need some dedicated and trustworthy staff to organize them, though?

I mean, what was the suggestion, exactly? Simply try to organize more of these events or incorporate an automatic system which allows betting/gambling of credits?

No staff should run away with hub credits. It's entirely pointless and they would just get demoted or something.

Diagram was made By Vacindak and Bello XD

Personally, i think we could follow this diagram because we can avoid futures problems,Is important to us To give a Warning in chat and also through mic too.I know Using the mic is faster than typing but we need a prove if someone says " You didn´t give me a warning".

It's very helpful but I feel we're giving people way too many warnings at this point.

  6. .. If they're mic spamming or spamming via text, then gag/mute them before/after providing the necessary warning (regardless of it being bumped to hell). Obviously there are case-by-case uses of commands; if someone is outright flooding chat (literally copy+pasting something stupid like the 'lenny face' pandemic) then that is means enough to gag immediately and then warn. Likewise when someone is holding down their mic and speaking incoherently or is otherwise displaying an obvious intent to troll.

Otherwise I completely agree with what has already been said, being that Staff are there to maintain the Servers and to foster a healthy and fun environment for Players. If you aren't able to stop whatever it is you're doing in that particular Server during a round to settle a dispute because you want to keep a good score, or are having 'fun', then I'll put it bluntly and I'm not going to sugar-coat it: resign and do not be a Staff Member. I won't speak on behalf of the Higher-Ups, but ideally any gaming community will want Staff who take pride in what they do; those who are willing to put aside whatever it is they're doing to completely handle a situation in the correct manner. Staff Members represent Xeno Gamers more than the average Members do, and therefore should make an effort to maintain their integrity both in and out of the Servers when dealing with disputes.

Your top priority [as a Staff Member] should and always will be to fulfill your duty as Staff. To put this into perspective, it wasn't uncommon in the CSS Division to pass Warden or to slay/kill oneself in the middle of something in order to provide complete attention to a situation and to moderate when necessary.

    TL;DR

    - Text warnings are preferable (if not mandatory) to vocal warnings as no excuses can be made by Players stating that no warning was issued during a Ban Protest

    - Staff Priorities take precedence over anything in Servers. Take some pride in what you (Staff in general) do and perform your duties as a Staff Member, or step-down. You weren't promoted to have fun, but that doesn't mean you can't have any on the side.

Yeah obviously if someone's breaking a rule I will deal with it and go out of my way to stop them from breaking that rule. However, a simple warn on mic is so much more efficient and is just as good as a warn in chat as it has its positives such as being a lot easier to do without breaking the flow of the game and you can do it anywhere at anytime almost. Obvious negatives include what has already been stated, but I strongly believe that warnings on mic are a lot more efficient in situations as I've watched every staff member do who have mics. I take a lot of pride in being staff of course but I'm trying to say if you aren't enjoying yourself then you should probably step down. Some situations as I've previously stated still apply such as being the death on deathrun as that can ruin the game for everyone else who doesn't have a challenge and can rush on ahead and win the game because a staff member has to do their job. Being a warden on jailbreak obviously means that people should be listening to you on mic so you should be able to warn them as warden anyway.

  7. Regardless, if you feel like they didn't see it. Then type it again. They have the ability to scroll up through chat if they're curious.

1 - If you're staff and playing the role as warden, then the players should have their volume on to hear the warden give orders.

2 - This one somewhat makes sense, but is it really a big deal?

3 - The Saxton you're playing as has a large amount of HP. Taking a couple hundred off to type out a warning isn't really a big deal.

You are a staff member. I understand that having fun is your goal, but when you willingly accept the responsibility to uphold rules on the servers, you don't always reach the goal of fun.

    1. If they're micspamming they can't always hear

Anything past that just ruins the flow of the game and makes me wonder why people can't just listen

It's gaming community, the whole objective is to have fun. Being staff is a privilege but not a way to ruin fun for yourself

  8. I agree, yet disagree. True, saying the warning over mic is a lot faster and easier, especially if you're busy, but I feel it leaves room for issues.

For example: Dingus is micspamming over on FF2, you say over mic "Stop micspamming ya dingus" but no one hears you due to aforementioned dingus spam and people talking over each other, which is a common occurrence. You mute them, they get rustled over a 30 min mute and start an abuse report on you. This has actually happened.

In reality, it takes literally 2 seconds to type: @Don't micspam, @Don't Freekill, @Don't lie about freerun, etc...

Plus, it gives evidence you provided a warning, which deters any false abuse or wrongful punishment claims. I just see this from the eyes of an ex-Mod and remember players who join simply to cause trouble and look for openings like this to start drama.

One question though. Is all chat recorded in the chat logs? I don't really remember...

It's not recorded in the chat logs but higherups apparently can see it? Don't quote me on that though.

If someone is micspamming then of course you use @ chat instead but in some situations that can be very difficult and ruin the flow of the game and makes it really difficult to play.

  9. Sesh's post explained it quite well:

You can not blame a user for everything, staff incompetence and unwillingness to take a few seconds to type is sometimes the

Some situations like i said will make this really difficult. Someone could be spamming the chat and I can't warn them. We should still count it as an official warning because they've already heard the warning on mic. This also opens up opportunities to

    1. Kill the warden if they are a staff member giving a warning

    2. Run past traps in deathrun

    3. Saxton has to stand still

You should still be able to give verbal warnings and them counting otherwise gamemodes can be ruined

  10. This thread is really disappointing.

Rejects has done great work, really humongous amounts of work and he is definitely more experienced when it comes to server stuff than me.

I mean, we got VSH back and it's actually really great, all thanks to Rejects.

But Rejects, I really don't know what's going on in your mind. It is beyond me why you'd go back to abusing after everything that has happened.

Rejects does care about the clan, very much, I believe, there's no doubt about it. -> Why else would he do all the work for our FF2 server.

We spoke for a good two hours about the incidents that happened previously on TeamSpeak, you seemed like your position really meant something for you and that you wouldn't wanna lose it.

You promised not to do it again, but here we are.

I'm not even mad, angry or anything similar, just a little disappoined in Rejects.

I'm not sure if he should be demoted, yes, he has really fucked up, but I, myself, couldn't even get to his level of server experience.

I really don't think Rejects does realize what he's doing. Whenever he does things like that, it's probably just some harmless fun for him which I can't blame him for.

    >but bello, does that justify it!!! :rage: :punch:  @Goblins

No, it does not. In no way am I implying that it was justified whatsoever.

Really, I'm quite unsure at this point what to do. I personally wouldn't want Rejects demoted, but if you're looking at everything from an unbiased perspective, you have to admit that it's pretty bad.

No +1 or -1 from me yet, just my thoughts so far.

He needs to learn that he can't do shit like this. Obviously Rejects cares about the clan a lot and he is very helpful but I don't think he is mature enough to handle DL right now. I would personally demote him and repromote him once we can see an improvement.

  11. I don't really agree with how you have to warn in chat instead of mic because you could be really busy or something such as in combat, surfing (etc) and someone could be spamming the chat and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Not to mention how having their in game volume off is as bad as muting a staff member so you can't hear what they say. I personally believe it's their fault for having sound disabled.

At least it's clarified but I'm not sure how I feel about this.

  12. +1 Going to admit that me and Grape worked together on this because I was one of the people who suspected Rejects of using commands to make his firing speed faster after what happened in the past with his Rocket Launcher. Nothing was said on the weapon like it would if there was an added attribute but it makes sense that he was using /rof. Love you man but you can't be breaking your own rules. You should be enforcing this, not doing it yourself.

  13. I honestly have no idea what to say about this. Even though adding that attribute really gave you no advantage, you did do this in the past, and were talked to about it. As for the /rof thing, I could understand it being mistake as I have made the same mistake before, but you act as if you did that on purpose. I'm not sure as to what to do about this, @Bello @mrnutty12 @Sesh, what do you guys think?

Was not a mistake. Has happened in the past every time he plays Heavy and he never uses rapid fire as his goto class when in godmode was generally sniper.

  14. I will admit I did use something with a heavy minigun but it was not an item attribute it was a command which everyone has access to : /rof

That's just as bad as adding the attribute to the weapon. In fact, it's worse because it gives you a faster revving up speed with the minigun.
