As far as I am aware the vsh plugin removes the jarate/milk status effects from bosses immediately; reducing their rage percentage in the process. Because of that if the jarate did apply a slow it would end up being a pretty short one that is generally not worth considering.

This effect does prevent much to be done with jarate (doesn't exist on mad milk, that works like normal) but could probably be removed if that was desired since it doesn't seem that useful and not many people use it in the first place.

Weapons igniting targets on hit is something I've hoped to add for a few different ideas as it seems like a very fun concept to play with, but regrettably doesn't function properly since the jungle inferno update due to the changes to afterburn.

It's fine to make a private server for you and your friends with the plugins, but you can't aid a rival community whilst you are in xG otherwise you risk losing your membership.

Pretty much this, but keep in mind we don't have any kind of monopoly on plugins (beyond any made by someone for our servers, such as the jailbreak plugin) and they are all openly available, so denying or hiding them from anyone would be a bit childish.

@OrangeBandito get in touch with me on discord (elcark#7346) and I'll see about showing you ones that are on the server.   nvm just saw what lithium posted

  3. Best of luck. There's not really anyway to tell now that you don't have it but your chances are pretty much dependent on whatever was "burning". If it was just your PSU overloading and shorting out that's a pretty easy fix (and likely depending on what kind you had) but if it managed to fry your motherboard you can kiss that computer good bye.

Also toxic worked on FF2 for some reason too)

Not really sure what caused this since it's been disabled as long as I've known and never seen it actually occur, but I took another measure to make sure both are disabled and if they still aren't  then there's an even deeper way to disable them. In terms of working on fixing the roll it's something that can be done and should stay up until that's proven otherwise, but keeping it disabled isn't that bad for now so it's nothing too pressing.

    35 minutes ago, Kypari said:

it still allows them to run away safely back to the base and entirely defeats the purpose of the role.

People just suicide to achieve this a LOT when getting the role anyways. The point about it being an exploit though is more that it is something where an extra measure needs to be taken by people in a way they shouldn't be in the first place to break it and it's not the rtd role itself that is causing the problem. For example, because people can use the meet the medic taunt glitch in water, should we disable that taunt?

If we could look into snail being fixed that would be great, but in regards to forced taunt I think it's fine being disabled.

Why focus on fixing one but just disregard the other? Between the two, forced taunt is actually the one more likely to be fixable (though it isn't clear what is wrong, it is still something that can be worked at in the future). Snail on the other hand is due to people effectively breaking the game and not anything with the actual plugin. I'm not entirely sure how the weapon switch speed bug works but we could possibly try to prevent that in the first place. If not, im pretty sure we've been over this more than once but it is an issue that in the unlikely chance of it coming up doesn't result in someone being able to abuse it to an advantage since they can't attack while doing so and even if they could get an advantage from it, it is still blatant exploiting and can be handled as such. So if we can prevent quick weapon switch lets do that, but if not then it isn't enough of a problem to disable the roll.

In terms of epileptic seizures, when caused by light flashes they are triggered by a few factors. First there's the rate of the flash, with the threshold is at around  ten flashes per second minimalistically and more likely only in the range of 20-30 flashes per second. I can't say I know how fast drugged changes the screen, but I fully doubt it is at a rate of multiple times per second.

Another major factor is extreme contrast between light.  This would involve things such as only part of an image moving rapidly or police/emergency lights in the dark. In both cases it is the focus of the eye on these that makes triggering a seizure more likely to happen. Drugged lacks this as it affects the entire screen and acts more like a backdrop instead of being a singular focal point that draws the eyes to it.

The likely hood of drugged causing seizures is pretty much null as far as I can tell, and thinking it might is really only uneducated assumption. Hell, there's probably lighting on some maps that would be more likely to trigger seizures. Alternatively it could instead be removed for being just annoying but I world be very catious with removing any effect on such grounds since it's attributed to the purpose of having negative effects. It is actually comparable to mlg sniper on FF2 in terms of annoyance, but doesn't last nearly as long and can be opted out of at any time.

Please don't put words in my mouth. That's not what I meant at all. Seems like you taken this real personally and I don't understand why, I'm sorry if I upset you.

His entire post was seemingly meant to point out how you are taking things far too personally and had very little regard towards himself so that's a fairly odd conclusion to come to. It seems rather hypocritical for you to be offended by his interpretation of what your statement insinuated then make pretty baseless assumptions towards him. That actually goes a lot into how a lot of this is being taken by you since your mod application, you really don't seem to take criticism well in the least bit.

No one is trying to attack you baselessly, but instead are pointing out issues they believe need to be worked on. This community is actually incredibly forgiving in letting people have second chances, but it is ultimately on you to actually  be mindful of how your behavior is being taken by everyone else and try to improve yourself from there.

  7. Just add dark theme. Problem solved.

Actually what all is still missing besides hub at this point? If we even got a partially functional copy of the old version moved over it would be nice compared to lacking it entirely now but im not even sure if there is anything besides that still needing to be made.

In terms of appearance though the new forums are deffinitly much easier on the eyes to navigate than the previous version. The old forums appearing like a hardly tangible cluttered mess kept me from trying to understand them at all for awhile but this more modern appearance so to speak is much more user friendly to new comers.

I think technically vote threads are supposed to be live for a week but yes, I doubt there's enough people to swing a turn to 70%.

May as well leave it open regardless to see it through. I'd really rather not have another vote in a few weeks if this one just evaporates.

This. Honestly I do hope you reconsider this entirely as there is no reason to go even if you just aren't around much at all anymore and you are always welcome here. Either way people will always look at you for all of you good you did and effort you put in and you absolutely shouldn't sell yourself short there.

Take care and best wishes in your endeavors

    Make it a vote.

Redundant. It is not something to do with preference of play (ie accepting lower fps) but the exclusion of playing at all due to it kicking or not loading for a notable number of people. A vote would be unfair to include anyone who isn't these people since from their perspective everything is fine.

  12. Tuna will not receive staff at this time.

Before everyone loses their poop, that last part is important. You are not being denied the entire opportunity to become staff, but aren't receiving it here and now. We figured it best to give a definitive answer after all this time instead of leaving this open and making it assumed it is being ignored. Beyond giving that answer, this does not change much since even without an open application it is still very clear you desire staff and have every opportunity to continue to work towards it. As a personal note, as part of turning over a new leaf then perhaps we can start fresher on this here as well.

I don't get math at all but I'm pretty sure I didn't make the crit chance dependent. Am I not supposed to use percents? Is not each player rolling at the same effective chance every time they fire a weapon?

I probably shouldn't have used 12 as the number but say you on the blue team jump into 3 enemy players. All of you fire at the same time. Everyone each has a 4.5% chance of getting a crit individually but the cumulative probability of anyone on red getting a crit is higher because they are effectively rolling the dice more times than you, no?

Now i'm terrible at math too and not going to pretend I actually follow where this concept is going, but wouldn't what you had said only make sense if you're getting struck by every single enemy team mate by melee at the exact same time?

If we made it so the vote was only for people who actually play on the servers, I think it would be very different.

I've been over this half assed concept more times then i'd like to have. The exact same counter argument exists for people voting on both ways and has been practiced as such numerous times. Everyone here in the community has an equal say for these kinds of things with the way the community exists with no arbitrary barrier to determine whether someone should be allowed or not. People can look at the reasoning to both sides and come to their own conclusion for what should be done based on what arguments people make without needing personal first hand experience.

The way I view it is the servers are not meant to be taken to such a serious extreme as some people want to. That's exactly why things like rtd exists and random crits still exist on melee weapons. Keeping random crits on just melee avoids them from being over abundant but doesn't disengage significantly from the more carefree attitude of the servers. Steering more towards an attitude focused on combat is the entire reason for the objective server being made in the first place, to have these kinds of changes there instead of gearing the other servers towards a specific playstyle (while still not being "competitive" in the sense of competitive servers, but just more so than the trade servers).

This is an easy decision that, depending how you look at it and how irritable you are as a person, could be viewed as reducing the amount of complaining.

That's contrary to the point, being which the level of complaint isn't a perfect reflection of the backing to it when measured by volume. When you have a room of ten people and one is shouting over the rest, it's not exactly a perfect solution to due what the one wants just to shut them up.

  16. 9 minutes ago, Kypari said:

I don't play competitively. I play to have fun, and random crits can be really frustrating personally.

Personally being the keyword. Not everyone's definition of fun is the same and some people will be frustrated to tears by things others have no concern over. Melee, regardless of how certain situations can sneak up on you, is something that has a very obvious disadvantage in a game that has any form of ranged answer to it. One of the arguing points made to keep random crits on melee weapons was that melee would effectively become useless without them, which they become even less noteworthy when you take into account that it's not something that happens on a large percentage of melee swings in the first place. Randoms crits are something that due to being in the game for so long people have become accustomed to, and though cries against it happen people are always going to be louder about what they have disdain for then that which they like.

It really should be up to the community vote like any other map on the server. The server crashes on it are not particularly common (though they happen on occasion my inbox gets spammed way more by stuff like ff2 crashing) and yes it might be poorly optimized, but people still seem to choose it a lot given the issues.

Just keep in mind the crashing concept isn't one to do with it crashing the server, but instead individual people (and the other issues people have with running that map in general). There is still a majority of people who aren't affected by these problems, but those that are end up being more common than with any other map.

    Newbies-

    3-5 normal vouches

This whole concept wasn't to change anything at all for new members, just people who had lost member for any reason and were reapplying. Sorry for not being clear there. Also keep in mind if you really want to push for changes for membership applications to that extent that the decision for how they work doesn't lie solely with us and a large part of how they currently work was desired by how Silence and Aagean want them to function.

I saw what you said (that was kinda rude ? ). I don't agree with it at all and my point stands that we're waving things off just because a specific group of people said that it was a problem. How is that fair?

There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with it, but don't wave it off yourself or draw presumptuous conclusions. It's not a statement of dismissing a group of people out of spite, but not believing that there is any real merit to the complaints about the rules that have been put forth.

    1 hour ago, Kypari said:

    no others.

I snipped  a fair bit, but that's really the only important part. I'm not sure how you can draw the conclusion that those are the only two situations for this (you probably aren't and i'm misinterpreting that, but still) when nearly every time the map is played there's multiple cases of sudden and random fps drops and straight up crashes. The only way a vote for this would be fair would be if it only involved those people who are suffering from these ailments and not those who never experience them.

    2 hours ago, Caleb956 said:

If we're going to be changing this, then may I suggest bumping the 3 higherup vouches down to 2, and then requiring 4-5 other vouches, but not having normal vouches replace the higherup ones.  At the same time, if we do that then we should make the stock requirements to get in also 4-5 vouches, so all that is being tacked on to regain membership is having those 2 higherup vouches, I feel like that'd make it feel more fair *in a sense* for those people that are rejoining especially.

An alright way of going about it (and far less convoluted). So basically make it like old membership applications with a lower total of only 5 vouches but 2 higher ups instead of only 1.

People have clearly complained about the lack of detail in the rules, why are we just dismissing that? People are clearly unsatisfied with the lack of detail and what things more elaborated, so why are we still holding back and refusing to just give examples?

A lot of the issues with people getting "confused" lately has been more revolving around people trying to poke holes at the rules as grounds for petty arguments.

and think again these examples became far over-exaggerated from unnecessary aggression.

We should do a vote for this, just like the other maps. It's not fair to just get rid of the map behind the scenes. So many maps make people leave, so even if it is something that causes issues such as FPS, why are we doing a private vote to get rid of it when there are other maps like hazy maze that can literally kill the server?

People leaving the server is their choice. Rogueport has the issue of not giving people that choice in the first place and forceably preventing them from playing. This isn't a matter of preference and opinion, it's one of a map making the server entirely unplayable for more than a few people at this point.
