  1. Alright, gonna keep my case stupid and simple. History: This was on our non-TGH trade server, and was added to TGH by request when that went down. A while back, someone whined it wasn't 'gaming history', and it's been off rotation for a few years. First- - This is a trade map with a lot of fun extras and mini-games for events, like a functioning Connect 4 board. Deathmatch is fun, but this allowed for a wider variety of TGH community events. Second- - What if I told you this map could constitute as gaming history? Let me explain. No, it's not from a classic N64 or PS1 era video game, but MassCC is a map from a defunct TF2 server that used to be large eight years ago. Furthermore, while not traditionally fallling under TGH map guidelines, the fact it represents our own defunct general trade server means it, in some regards, represents a part of XG history. Also, even if we ignore all that, there's still references to a game older than anything currently in our map rotation. Yes, Connect 4 was first released as a board game in 1974, and was later used in first-party a Nintendo game in the Switch sequel to classic NDS title 'Clubhouse Games'. No, it's not as 'in-theme' as a lot of other TGH maps, but it also wasn't a bad map, and it was an important part of both TF2 and XG history.
  2. I'm thinking about doing some things with valve hammer again. However, I can only do one thing at a time and I honestly don't know which. Both of them will eventually get done one way or another, but I want to know which one is more important. I mean, you can read the title; I can either make another update to rogueport that fixes even more of it's problems, or I can make an entirely new map specifically for TGH. If I update rogueport: TO DO LIST Fix the stairs outside of red spawn Remove the water sound effect that plays over the whole map for some reason Add more overlays on the walls to make them less bare Re-add some of the old jump/skips that all classes could do Update the wall of xg easter egg Add a new secret all together Better placement for the exit from the secrets Fix the spinning garlic bread Many small secrets that you can find around the map If I create a new map entirely: It will be centered around allowing all classes to be useful It will be styled similarly to secrets in rogueport There will be many, many, many secrets and things to find on the map Although the focus will be combat for the most part I will be taking suggestions on what to add into it by old time tgh players Not much has been drafted yet for it, but I have all kinds of ideas for them the time comes.
  3. The Trouble in Terrorist's Town server, like all other GMod servers, follow the General Garry's Mod Server Rules found here, in addition to the General Community Rules found here. Portal Gun Rules: The Portal Gun follows general rules of RDM. Do not use it to randomly kill people with no reasoning. Do not use it to escape the map boundaries at any point. No creating traps to trap people (i.e. in other players, inside a wall, etc.) When spectating, do not possess props in order to kill people. KOS Rules: You cannot KOS others without a legitimate reason (unless you're a traitor), such as being shot or someone having a traitor weapon without being proven. Some non-legitimate reasons to KOS, and instead are potentially only suspicious, include but are not limited to the following: Refusing to test Scoping in with a sniper rifle Following people around Otherwise non-KOS-able but suspicious actions Potential future rules will be added to this thread when the need arises. 4. As of recently a lot of people have been complaining about trade gaming history map rotation being too large and having maps we don’t play or like going to and I personally feel like we should reduce the map pool to half. I’ll be listing maps which I feel should stay and maps that should go. This is my list and some people may agree/disagree which I encourage you to do since we want to actually know people opinion rather than just do shit out of our asses. If you disagree on a certain map on "my list" please just feel free to tell me. We’ll collect everyone vouches and opinions and review everything so that we can decide what stays and goes. Here’s the full list of maps currently on rotation /nominate O = STAYS ON ROTATION N = NEUTRAL X = REMOVE 1. Trade_jollyrogerbay_v3 X 2. Dm_boostertower_v2 X 3. Trade_clickclockwood_kz1 N 4. I'll be making separate polls for 3 maps each unless someone can make limit for polls unlimited. I'll probably make them tomorrow since i'm lazy..
  5. Although many people (Shwoosh ;)) enjoy stickyjumping into people to crit them, all other random melee critical hits were removed to meet both sides halfway as a compromise. Critical hits have always been amazing to get, but annoying to be on the receiving side of, so it's particularly obnoxious when someone is rewarded for walking at you, mindlessly swinging their melee weapon. Taking triple the damage for no reason other than pure luck isn't fun.
  6. I feel like this is something that needs to be said because it's happening way too often. A joke is only funny if everyone is laughing. There is a lot of times when people are being quite rude or intentionally trying to make certain people angry. Unfortunately the jokes have gone from the occasional playful teasing to outright making fun of certain players. Now I'm not going to tell you that you can't shit talk each other all together. Sometimes it's in good intent as long as both parties are content about it. It's been getting out of hand recently though. It's gotten to the point where multiple people start bandwagoning against one person even though they don't like it. So to get to the point, I want to write this reminder that disrespect is NOT allowed on the servers. When someone asks you to stop or is clearly getting upset please do not continue to heckle them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants a friendly environment for everyone. I would like it if you all would consider how you effect everyone else on the server so noone feels alienated. I'm not trying to say you need to be on good terms with everyone. All I ask is that the playful shittalking is consensual or at least acceptable. I hope we all can keep enjoying the server!
  7. With new clocktown (v1) being added and old clocktown (b2a) being removed, there have been many players with sound errors. This thread will serve to help fix issues as best as possible. You will have to fix it client side-- on your own. The first step is to locate your tf file. This file should be located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf The next step is to delete all the files under the search "sound.cache." Delete all sound.cache files. Then, in TF2, restart your sound. Do snd_restart in console in game. These steps should fix existing sound issues with the map. If these steps do not work, then... Repeat the steps a few times. If this does not work, exit TF2 and repeat the steps. If doing all of the above does not work, contact Vexx or myself as we have direct, open contact with the map devs. Thank you.
  8. Having two Minecraft Neon maps is a bit redundant, even if they are pretty different. When voting please pay attention to the version releases, the non-christmas one is the most up to date. This poll will choose which map we keep or keep both, all members are open to vote. You have one week to vote.
