On a more serious note, xG will never be the same as it was, that much is obvious. What really made xG was the community, the people. After those people left, we were stuck with a slightly above average JB server. xG was a fire. The people who made JB fun were the spark, once we lost that spark all that was left were a few logs and some tinder. So I've been seeing this topic spread across the internet like wild fire. It started on FacePunch, then it moved to Reddit, and now its at Tf2Banana. It's about how this possible virus can be downloaded from malicious servers, and then it will crash your computer and trash your steam account. I am not sure if this is true (I feel as if it is a hoax), but at the rate that the information is spreading it appears it could be true. I've seen plugins that force your computer to download certain files from a server, but that was only with sound files. I mean it could be theoretically possible that a virus could be downloaded through it; however, I am unsure of how it would execute automatically. Anyway, if you are paranoid, you might want to change your download settings, on the tf2 options multiplayer tab, so that it will only download maps from the servers. And you may only want to go to xG servers or Valve servers. This could be a massive trolling spree, but you can never be too safe. How about this: We get members to populate more than 1 div. Just because you are in the TF2 Div (or any division), doesn't mean you can't go to others. I know I'm being an hypocrite as I've said get back in your own division before, but this could boost population and bring our community together. The different divisions may have different people with better or worse personalities, but try it out. I occasionally go on CSS and Minecraft and it is quite fun.

Nigguh fug you, I never said I've actively populated recently; only that I support the idea of it along with providing ways in which to establish said population. Only time I did was about a week ago when it was absolutely empty and it was just me and @DeathGod, but he was being a scrub by not using his mic. Eventually got up to around 20+ people, it was a good time. If I had the free time, I would be on that shit like mold on a shower curtain, much like I was back in the day. So just a quick introduction. I joined the xG community december 2010/jan 2011, was co-leader for about 2-3 years and then left due to disagreements towards my fellow higherups. You might know me by Link if not by Aegean. I had a very good history with this clan with exception to duplolas having powers, and then darkwolf having powers, cuz they were retards. Anyways. Why is xG not the same as it once was? It's easy to blame rhododendron/silence for alot of it, but that's not it. He might have caused some shit, but it's not him that's preventing xG to get back to its former glory. 1. It's the staff themselves. If you go back to 2011-2013, it wasn't silence alone that was keeping the servers populated and fun, it was the members. The biggest thing was the members who were keen on being staff, and once being promoted, having a positive influence. I remember when jailbreak and other servers had 5-6 + staff on all the time (except for the late night, where myself, cristo and other night owls would populate and play if we were bored) The biggest thing is the staff don't care anymore about bettering the server. You know what I don't see? Mods and Admins constantly asking higher up what they have to do to be promoted. It's true I'm not staff anymore so it might be behind the scenes now, but I remember how active staff were on forums, always asking members what they want from the server, and even people pming me and other higherups for an "operation populate (deathrun)" or w.e . The biggest thing is from talking to many members, and even staff themselves, promotions are much more skewed then they used to be. It's not so much how active you are or how good you are in server, it's more who your friends with, and who you talk to in teamspeak. 2. People don't care. Look at the forums. There are so many posts that are stickied but not updated, or stickied that should be removed. I made a post about what the different levels of staff do for this community, and what you can ask them for help with. As higherups, you need to be constantly looking to see what you can do to make this community better. If this isn't your goal while being a higher up, then you should step down or re-evaluate your position. You aren't higher-ups so you can abuse on TS or forums, and just be the shield for your friends when something gets called out against them. You are there to set an example, and make sure EVERYONE (this is key) has a great experience in the servers and community, and that they would want to join and even invite their friends into the clan. This also means that you can't bend rules to appeal to one group of people (example the furries or bronies who don't like being insulted) but then allow NSFW avatars that are actually against the rules because (that's just my opinion). You guys need to understand that you represent the community, as soon as people go "ouu i'm gonna go check out another community" you fucked up possibly many new recruits, ad sense, and donation money. 3. Everyone is segregated. Look at teamspeak and look at the ridiculous amount of black lists and passwords in the channels. A select few staff almost never go into a public channel, and that is also very upsetting to newer members who want to meet staff and others and want to play other games with other fellow clan members. I mentioned this a few times, but this is a ridiculous thing that I should be bringing up time and time again. Staff need to acknowledge the newer members, and play games with them or even create events. Before the Cozy boys (Billy, Trif, Rpgs, etc) and I quit, Rpgs had the idea of making a community night. Once a week, we choose a few servers, set up an event to all of xG (through the forums and steam group) and just spend a few hours with the community. Anyone is welcome to join, and just play some games that aren't populated as much. (xG Minigames for example) What does this do? 1. You introduce members to a new game mode that they potentially might like and come back often too, and 2. The members get to meet others (staff, members or just randoms) and get to have fun and feel like they really are in a community. You have nothing to lose from this, you lose 0 resources and you get the community involved; something this community hasn't really done in a long time. You can provide incentives to coming if you can, if not just have fun and play games. This can also prove valuable to members and staff who are looking to be promoted but are often unseen to the people that they need to be seen by. This will not return xG to it's former glory, but it's a start. Once the staff start acting like staff, and stop being spoiled brats who are power-happy at any slight discomfort, this community can lead to the right path back to competing to be one of the top gaming communities on steam. For the time being, we actually removed the jailbreak server. we are using it to test out a super secret project, and if it works well, should drive population which will allow us to get a 3rd server that we can throw everything we had from JB back up.

NSFW is Not Safe for Work. What? Oh, I was under the impression that not many people understood the concept of the whole 'NSFW' thing. Not trying to come off as a cheeky cunt like Rabid (;)) but it means exactly that. It doesn't specifically mean nudity, it doesn't specifically mean racism, it means every god damn thing that would come off as inappropriate if seen at your typical workplace, hell, even school in some cases. If this is something that is too vague for anyone to comprehend, then change the rule to something along the lines of: "Avatars/Display Pics must be PG- 13 and contain no sexually suggestive material, racism, or anything else deemed inappropriate by Higher-Ups" just as an example. In other words, elaborate in a way that is so detailed that no one could possibly make the mistake of using something that isn't allowed. Or just keep it the way it is and start warning/banning everyone who has NSFW Avatars/Display pics. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with the photos not being allowed. Boss looks over at you during work, and says "Whatcha looking at?" and you answer "Young animated girls in little to no clothing." , his answer isnt gonna be "Oh OK." Either enforce this with the nsfw rule, or make it so that you dont use the term nsfw and say it cant show any nipples, genitalia etc.

Not sure if I even want to go on the tf2 servers anymore what with all the poop happening these days, oh well.

Some of the maps on the Jailbreak server are meant for mainly playing on CS:S which does not really transition well to TF2. There are not a lot of mini games on them meaning that usually it just ends up being trivia or just mass rebelling until the map switches. So being able to add new maps and remove those particular CS:S maps would be a good thing for the server in my opinion.

Something as simple as a thread discussing a small change to the one of our servers will result in a backlash of hate messages and insulting everything I say. Some members involved (Izanagi) have lied about me to other staff about me abusing powers and have avoided bringing it up when I addressed it. This was obviously an attempt to get me demoted or punished for something I didn't do. Members should not be doing this to others. (Other staff members present can vouch this happened) I would post a harmless message in the chatbox responding to someone or ShackNewsBot and some of the members would take that opportunity to attack me. While they may claim its their opinion or a joke there is no need for posting constant messages and replies which upset and harass me. I tried to improve my relations to the clan by starting using my mic, Which is highly recommended for staff to communicate on the server over text. I did a test recording responding to my ice bucket challenge, my response was degrading and upsetting by being referred to by a few members as "a 40 year old with a voice changer" Kendrick Llama proceeded to humiliate me further by adding a picture to the photoshop thread of a man with ache to the body of a little girl and said it was "kitty in real life" Whilst on the server Trade Gaming History Muzzle joined and said "Kitty may I ask you a serious question?" (the video attached is what happened next) He then asked if I had a deformity because of my voice (even though I have said many times my mic is bad and has terrible feedback) They are intent on using my own attempt to bond with the clan as a tool to abuse me with. Another staff member Bach present when Muzzle said this did nothing to help. When it was quite clearly offensive. Below are some reasons directed at members involved and their unacceptable actions. Forge: constantly calling me a bad mod, quotes almost everything I say with offensive and sarcastic messages, In game would constantly comment if I miss a shot or die, has written lies about me on servers "Kitty said you have no friends" Something I have never said. (see pictures attached) Also has spoken on servers badly about me to others while I am offline. Forge even proceeded to create a thread to humiliate me called "dumbest quotes of the year!" with which he added a quote I wrote while in an argument with somebody else, the statement was not serious and was said during an argument in which I was angry. To use something like that to humiliate someone is uncalled for. (see links) His last offensive act which I managed to get evidence of was a post he wrote in which he verbally attacked me for no reason at all, no provocation came from me beforehand, The offensive message was quickly removed but I managed to get the evidence. (see the attached image) Izanagi: constantly quotes me with offensive statements, rates my posts negative for no reason, abuses me in the shoutbox and in post comments section regularly and most recently photo shopped a picture of a man with acne on a little girls body and said "Kitty in real life" (see attached picture) Also forced muzzle to invite me to a server in which he has admin powers on just so he can instantly kick me with a message (see attachment) The only members on this server were forge, izanagi and muzzle. So I knew they only invited me to abuse me. Muzzle: Has been rude to me in game asking if I have a deformity, as well as commenting offensively in the shoutbox and in post comment sections quite oftan. (see attachments) KendrickLlama: quoted my vocal recording calling me a man and changed his status to Forge = kitty, saying I am forge and arguing with myself. His status has now changed but the offence he caused has made me regret using my mic and has hurt my confidence with using it to aid my staff duty on servers as well as general conversation. Also has been rating all my posts are "downs" (see attachments) Starmix: Quite recently Starmix got himself involved with this hatred of me. He has been rudely commenting on my posts and just taking part in the abuse others cause. Calling me a bad mod and even using examples I used in a thread discussing a server problem as a tool to attack me with. Moosty: Moosty previously was involved in a petty argument with me over nothing but we both apologised for our part in that and I thought everything was calm and friendly with Moosty again. That was until he took the time to search for images, cut out and edit a picture to insult and humiliate me. This picture was not a 10 minutes job, he put time in to it. He did not apologise until Vector spoke to him and then had to remind him 1 day later about his apology for the unacceptable image. I accepted the apology but I felt it to be forced, fake and not genuine. I thought this even more when on my last thread posted about the AFK timer on Trade Gaming History, Moosty proceeded to quote me and bring up my activity on the server I suggested, There was no need for this and It was just proof Moosty is still involved and unable to act mature. I am not in this clan for enemies. I am always friendly and helpful to others. The actions of these members involved serves no purpose in this clan. I have had friends considering joining but have seen the maturity and hate of each others seen daily. Jokes can be jokes but in this case it's not a joke, I don't believe it ever was a joke. The only cause for this hatred I can think of is a jealously of my position as a moderator or my life which I am aware has been disliked by those involved for whatever reason. I urge the CLs to take immediate action against this. Bullying and harassment is not acceptable in any community. It has become so bad I don't like coming here any more and that is not good for somebody who has been active everyday on the forums even after being declined once for age. I like this clan, I like taking part in conversations and playing the servers. But I don't like constant abuse, bullying, spite and dislike of me and everything I do for myself or the clan. Well, I have an idea; however, I don't have Photoshop and I don't know how to use it anyway. But essentially you could make the XenoGamers logo transparent and then get art from each of the games we support here and put it behind the lettering so it comes through. :)
