I honestly cannot see the angle you're aiming for here, are we talking about slurs or are we talking about staff incompetency? Slurs are never going to be allowed so I would never count on that. As for inconsistency with how staff handle situations, that is something that can't really be fixed either. As humans we are all different, no two people are going to handle their position the same way. While one staff member may be a total "Hitler" admin, the other might be incredibly laid back and not really do much of anything. We cannot change how people think, and us having the rules the way they currently are helps us keep a non-toxic environment.

Stop quoting this. This was something said by a comedy based YouTuber, and has no real substance in an actual argument against not allowing slurs. What you are pushing for here does not really seem feasible, nor does it seem like a very right thing to do. I've played on servers where there is basically "no rules, say what you want" and honestly those were some of the worst I've visited. The last thing I want xG filled with is 15 year old's thinking that 9/11 jokes are funny and spouting racism at every user that decides to even turn the camera in their direction. There's a reason why things are the way they are, there's really no point in changing what has already worked for so long.

We have always punished people for saying the word and always will. Even in the event it was not seen as offensive, it would still be loop-holing into saying the actual word. Completely removing the rules on slurs altogether would cultivate an absolutely toxic environment, so there is absolutely no way we will EVER do that. Most of us understand you put a lot of effort into it, but in its current state it just floods chat. It still has some bugs to be worked out. I don't even mind the whole free item bit. I can just see it being an issue of afk farming and regulating item names and whatnot. On top of that imo most people are going to use it as a glorified garbage bin for their junk. It does affect players by having to talk over the servers normal spam and now this bot. Specially since staff have to give an in chat warning which will be buried atm. We appreciate the thought but like I said it needed more time before being released.

Afk farming will not be an issue, we already have an auto afk kick on the servers.

I personally don't mind the giveaway plugin, as long as it works properly. I did have to initially remove it from TGH the night it was added because it was causing the server to constantly crash, but the plugin was soon fixed afterwards. As long as the plugin continues to be developed and worked on, I really see no problem. One option I do hope to see though, is an option to disable the messages from the giveaways/choose to opt out, as I am an individual who does not need nor want any free items or credits and would like someone else to have them. I do know an option like this was discussed so hopefully we can see that soon. Though in the future, please use the testing server we have for testing new versions of said plugin before putting it on one of our populated servers, we have plenty of staff who would gladly help test it.

Closing this thread, plugin was removed from the servers. Adding this plugin was a huge decision that was not made by any of the TF2 higher ups, and we were never talked to about adding it. This plugin completely breaks class balance, and would make most gamemodes unplayable in terms of balance.

Yeah I would prefer this so we don't have to remove the map completely. I could do it if nobody else wants to.

A suspicious name is not a reason to keep a user permanent banned. I'm not sure how you guys handled cases like this in the past, but by the way it sounds, it wasn't handled very professionally.

I am somewhat questioning if anyone even bothered to watch the demo @mrnutty12 provided. I really did not see any fishy shots myself, only about one flick that made me question legitimacy, but not obvious to the point I think he's hacking. The spy thing isn't sufficient enough to straight out call him a hacker, one spy flashed his cloak and ran in front of the other while he was shooting at him, giving away both of their positions. I'll review the demo more times, but once again I really do not think the user is hacking.

Also, please remember to be respectful when replying to people, insulting them for protesting a ban that they think they don't deserve is very immature and makes me question the legitimacy of your word, and your position of staff.

Most things can be allowed if all the higher ups agree, which in this case we did. When the map was added, I was still an admin and Bello had said the map was fine because it was artistic nudity. I still stand behind the map being completely fine how it is, there is nothing wrong with having that image on the map. We don't need to rewrite rules to make decisions like this, if anyone asks it can be easily explained. It's not ignoring our rules when our rules only concern sprays, player decals, and steam profile pictures. Maps have nothing to do with those rules and are up to the discretion of higher ups as to whether they are fine or not.

I'm telling you, the image is not anywhere close to how bad you're describing it is. There are no "flaps" nor is there anything sexual about the image. The pose the woman is taking is a common pose used in art like this. PG - 13 is entirely subjective, as the idea of PG - 13 as drastically changed over time.

GameBanana does not allow any pornographic images in the maps on their website.

A pixelated porn magazine on the ground, half the size of a scout model, that you can avoid. and a non pixelated naked woman, vag flaps, bush, and nips unpixelated and detailed, 10ish scout models tall, that the map randomly spawns you in front of are very different.

Your description is once again, blowing it way out of proportion, kinda like this entire thread. The image you used has all the parts you just described in "vivid (concerning) detail" covered up with sprays. It's nowhere near as bad as you are saying it is, it's once again, the roughest sketch it can possibly be while still considered art.

That's because maps with actual pornography are removed, exceptions can be made for maps where it's almost unnoticed, such as Hotel Hell.

The image in question is not in any way striking an erotic pose, and the picture is obviously used in an artistic from. It's a rough sketch, not anything close to being "highly detailed" nor even possibly showing any more than really needs to be shown. Keep in mind, this is a far stretch from pornography, so calling it porn is not exactly the way to go about it. Hotel Hell has a pixelated porn magazine and we allowed it because it's literally so small that it's hardly noticeable nor does it make that much of an impact. You would've been better off making a "remove hotel hell" thread since that is more closer to pornographic than the image on Cyberpunk.

Edit: But if you guys really want the image removed, I can ask someone to simply remove the image in Hammer.

No, punish the same as always. Though real CP is something entirely different, I'd go ahead with perm banning if someone does spray that, and even with that being said, that does go into real world law territory and we would probably have to do a lot more than just a ban.

Well I'd first like to say by the time this Is read and dealt with then 1-day ban will probably be finished, however I'd still like to throw this out so that the toxicity of certain staff could possibly be more closely monitored and contained.

 

Now I'm am decently new to the xG Pokemon Trading Center server, nonetheless I am becoming a regular on the server. As for banning me for having an inappropriate spray, That Is understandable but pretty harsh for a first time "offense" If you will, Not to mention after being kicked without a word about It I tried to tell whoever It was who kicked me that It was an accident and not intentional,(Trying to run around while trying to type "!rtd" can lead to accidentally pressing T which is the key bound for my spray) however they did not respond so I decided,"alright I guess, I'll just be more careful on my key presses, and If It happens again I'll just move it behind the medicine cabinet In spawn". I ended up pressing It again, and as I planned I went into spawn and put it out of sight. Shortly later, On a different map I believe, I was banned without any precaution or saying. Which wouldn't be the problem If I wasn't so confused to why I was banned?

Now I did as advised when trying to rejoin the server and found my way here, to find I was banned for

Now, this was pretty informal and unprofessional If you will.

But Toxicity does not apply to me

or my actions, I don't know If this reaction was caused because maybe he disliked the way I played the game? Or maybe I was killing him a lot?(though I don't recall him being killed by me, or playing at all, unless he/she has a different in-game name.) Whatever It may be I cannot help but feel that was the admin/mod feeling something personal against me. Which I understand can be hard for some people to set aside how the feel in place of responsibility, But from a website so organized I'd expect more properly behaved staff.

As for "L' spam", I'm also very confused about this and feel It Is more of just the staff member being annoyed with me personally for some reason. For chat, I use It as regular as anyone does perhaps even less aside from commands. So It really makes me curious to why I was banned or rather, why I'm being suspected of spam?

 

What I think, Is that whoever Kypari Is, I suspect they are a new staff member and most likely bored or looking for opportunities In their role, So they saw my spray and tried to take everything they could to ban someone. Now Spam and "Toxicity" Is all subjective, which Is why I stray away from using chat to speak to others or at all from that matter, Because anything can be toxic. However there Is not a grain of evidence for any of this, I'm saying myself that I sprayed the spray, Which Is wrong but for something that wasn't intentional and not done to harm others? To just flat out ban me I feel Is incorrect.

 

Well that Is all I have to say on this matter,

Saying spamming and toxicity is "subjective" is not exactly the best argument, both are defined and have no vagueness to them. You admitted to spraying pornographic images on the server, which is against the server rules. All people are met with the same consequences for breaking server rules, which is a warn, then kick, then ban. Saying it's wrong for him to ban you for breaking server rules isn't exactly going to help your case, since that is YOUR opinion.

It's a one day ban, wait it out.

We don't need to specifically say anything about Loli sprays since anything bad with that is covered in the rest of what is said, though you could include it if you wanna be extra sure. As for the profile picture thing, we have punished in the past for steam profile pictures, though I think it's more something that valve needs to deal with other than us. Pornographic profile images aren't allowed on steam in the first place, and generally it's really small if it's on the scoreboard. Adding profile pictures only adds an extra layer for staff to look out for, and even then we can't exactly force them to change it. I know in the event we do get someone to change it, it won't update in-game due to a bug with TF2/Steam, if you had already seen the pornographic profile picture it will stay there regardless of if they changed it or not. The only 100% sure way to make sure they actually change it, is to actually look at their steam profile, which again, adds another layer to things that staff need to do.
