Why are all the new people who were nowhere near old xg times telling us how to get back to it? I get it no segregation blah blah blah. but you guys are speaking as if you know how it was back in the time of aegean when you weren't there at all. The number 1 thing we need to do is have members populate the servers, you guys are on the forums all the time, and shitposting everywhere, but you expect the staff to all populate the server and dont want to do it yourself. there is a boat load of you tf2 guys here, and a lot of you were in teamspeak/shoutbox/recent posts yesterday. but the tf2 servers had a total of 16 people across all the servers. 7 was the peak on pokemon trade. Everyone needs to just play the damn servers. invite friends, and have a good time, not be such dicks to eachother, and not try to get everyone banned over 1 freekill or a few bm comments.

Many of you guys might not remember me, but in November 2013 - March 2014 I went on JB 1 and 2 on TF2. I have been inactive for a long time and wanted to come back with some ideas that may or may not be good. For my first idea I was going to request a Just Cause 2 Multiplayer server, because that game is super fun and it has given me many laughs over the few months that I've played it. It would be a really cool idea IMO and I think lots of people would enjoy it. Second, (and this might sound super nerdy, but...) a World Of Warcraft Division. It might sound bad, but I've been playing a bit recently, and it wasn't as bad as I originally thought. How it would work is we would have to choose a realm to play on, and then create a guild called XenoGamers or something like that. People will eventually start joining after some recruiting and such, and the many ways to play the game, like PvE, PvP, Raids and more just give it more potential for future good times. Again, these are just ideas, they could be really good or not. I don't know without opinions from you guys. If anyone thinks these are good ideas, please leave suggestions or even other ideas. Evidence: I may of left xG but I visited this site everyday when I was in the clan and I still visit the site to check up on things and talk in the shoutbox, you can't simply stop visiting a site you have been visiting everyday for the past few months. I have left the clan and the previous problems against me should of stopped but that is sadly not the case. Below is from the shoutbox log of yesterday. This should not be acceptable and that Forge also took part in it is even more unacceptable after he has already been punished before. You may check the logs yourselves and see that I did nothing to start the problems. Also I shall admit getting angry but who wouldn't? I thought all this "kitty is a 40 year old guy" immature bullshit stopped ages ago. To see some people are still at it is ridiculous. I did keep my anger in check as to not insult back and the picture Stumpy linked was one of those photostops from the previous protest thread. Penguin was a witness to some of the messages as seen in the evidence. He also told both of us to stop in which I did but Stumpy continued. In anger I rated Stumpy's posts as "fuck you" but it has been said time and time again ratings don't mean anything and if you care about them turn off the notifications. I have been getting negative ratings daily for weeks now and I simply do not care as I have turned off the notifications. Can you people stop instigating and exacerbating things, holy hell. Yes Kitty, you also are instigating something. Instead of choosing to ignore it or report it, you chose to take matters into your own hands and add fuel to the fire. While I can see why you would act out due to frustration, the only thing you're doing is making matters worse by doing what you did. This goes out to everyone: If you're having problems with a Member/Player of the community, don't go and start a shit storm by stooping to their level. Ignore them, gather evidence of their abusive/harassing behaviour, and post a Member Protest. Be the mature individual in the argument. I'm not saying that Stumpy didn't instigate either, but everyone knows the guy can be an ass hat Also keep in mind that (as others have mentioned) this is the world wide web. If someone is poking fun at you, the best thing to do is to ignore them altogether, or if you have the option, to report them. No one wins a fight on the internet. You can call them names, you can talk in all caps to emphasize your anger, but all you are doing is giving that particular person more reason to keep going, because chances are they are a troll: someone who makes it their sole purpose to feed off of the anger of others. So I've been seeing this topic spread across the internet like wild fire. It started on FacePunch, then it moved to Reddit, and now its at Tf2Banana. It's about how this possible virus can be downloaded from malicious servers, and then it will crash your computer and trash your steam account. I am not sure if this is true (I feel as if it is a hoax), but at the rate that the information is spreading it appears it could be true. I've seen plugins that force your computer to download certain files from a server, but that was only with sound files. I mean it could be theoretically possible that a virus could be downloaded through it; however, I am unsure of how it would execute automatically. Anyway, if you are paranoid, you might want to change your download settings, on the tf2 options multiplayer tab, so that it will only download maps from the servers. And you may only want to go to xG servers or Valve servers. This could be a massive trolling spree, but you can never be too safe. Alright so here is the issue. Whether or not spamming ratings is "bannable" does not mean its the appropriate action to take. It is highly annoying and 100% unnecessary. Normally we don't worry about it and tell people to turn off the notifications because of how petty it is. This case is a little different in which Kitty has been told, many times, to talk to a CL or DL/DM if there are further issues. She went against this advice and retaliated yet again. There is obviously no reason for stumpy or forge to be talking the way they did in shoutbox, it just isn't respectful. Forge sure in the hell should know that, and stumpy... c'mon. Stumpy was already banned for a day and warned due to his actions in shoutbox and posting on the forums. I have dealt with issues of disrespect, harassment, unnecessary posting, and spamming about 5 times this week. It's going to stop here. CL's are done dealing with the disrespect and dishonesty that constantly goes on now. We went into most issues with an optimistic look, trying to see what we could do to remedy the situation and make all sides at least somewhat happy. No more lenience from us. With that being said here is the decision regarding this thread. Stumpy and Kitty (Forge may apply if he continues as well): If CL's, or even others with forum powers, get even the slightest hint of the following -Disrespect -Harassment -Unnecessary arguing -Rating spam -Passive Aggressiveness -Attention seeking -Shitposting -Or really anything that shows a lack of maturity and respect for other members a PERMANENT forum ban will be immediately applied. And there's no if ands or buts about it. CL's or others with forum powers need to consult with preferably 3 or more others (CL's or others of equal power) before initiating a ban, just to make sure it's in fact justified. All we ask is for EVERYONE to be mature about situations. You can have fun and joke around, but know the limits. Remember that although the internet allows you to hide behind a monitor, your words still affect people like it would in a face-to-face conversation. You would think I don't have to remind people about this, but apparently the internet makes you all think that if you can't see someone, why does it matter what I say? I highly suggest you don't test our limits with this. Harassment will not be tolerated and apparently this is the action that needs to be taken.

Opening a new Division requires a lot of.. Resources. In its current state, XenoGamers should be concentrating on the Servers/Divisions we currently already have up and running. If a game receives a large amount of attention (and I mean really large) as well as has a large majority of xG Members to back it, then it may be considered, but the odds of this happening are very slim. I'm not saying it'll never happen, but I don't see adding more Divisions to be a possibility for the moment; although that's just what I think :coffee:

maybe he doesn't deserve the unban, but I don't think his powers should be removed either I understand that "donator abuse" is left to the staff member's discretion (when nomulous isn't online himself), but I feel like having an official rule book is necessary, especially with donators perks where people have to pay real money and losing it without actual knowledge would be terribad @Nomulous @kbraszzz if possible, take some time to make said rule book, it would be much appreciated to donators

I agree with SOME things that OP said, mainly about teamspeak segregation and some people not caring, but I feel like our higher ups in tf2 really put efforts in to better the division. @John_Madden and @kbraszzz have started multiple "pop this server" nights and didn't just sit around when our plugins broke after an update. @Nomulous has created multiple servers and coded many different things based on what we voted for on the forums. We have also been trying to recruit people from our less popular servers. Anyways, xG is not as good as it has been right now, but that doesn't mean everything is bad

There is a very low possibility of getting a virus from downloading files, but rather a hidden MOTD opener to a zero day exploit website. This would cause more issues, though a plugin that downloads files, spoofing the ending, and executing the malicious file is very odd and would require potentially a MM:S plugin. Which would just want to exec and inject into TF2, so if anything, the "virus" is a code injection into TF2 while force downloads a malicious file and executes it. Even though this is unlikely, I do not participate in malicious activities, so our TF2 servers are safe to download any custom files. Though if you're worried about 0-day exploits, turn off your internet since just browsing on websites can get you infected with a ring3 rootkit virus.

So, with the completion of xG's new Unusual map, our Unusual server is now live. It's my hope that we get a lot of attention to our servers because of this, as the map in itself is, in my opinion, one of the best Unusual server maps I have ever been on. That being said, I think we need to discuss the rules for this particular server. OFC, being an xG server, all of the basic xG rules will be applied, however it being an Unusual server, I feel that there should be some additional rules put into place in order to cover some other basics that aren't really covered in xG's core ruleset. 1. "Cancer" This term is seen by many players as very disrespectful, even if it is true. For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, "Cancer" is used to describe Unusual hats with low-tier effects, (And sometimes low-tier hats themselves.) I've been in Unusual servers where they have barred the use of such disrespectful terminology, and I wouldn't be opposed to enforcing the same rule on our Unusual server as well. I feel that if the environment allows for disrespect that some players will not want to attend our map. This should be a discussion point: Do you think we should ban the use of the word "Cancer"? 2. Quicksells Another thing that is barred from a LOT of Unusual servers is the advertisement that one is buying Quicksells. Lots of Unusual servers believe that people who focus solely on Quicksells is detrimental to the Unusual market and prices of specific hats. I tend to agree. I don't necessarily want to ban users from SELLING at Quicksell prices, but advertising that you are only buying Quicksells presses a stress on the players in the room to sell for lower than they are comfortable with. Once again, this should probably be another discussion point: Should we allow players to advertise that they are buying Quicksells? 3. RTD It's no secret that Unusual servers aren't exactly combat-centric. RTD is an excellent plugin for use in servers that focus mainly on combat, so my question is this: Should we even have RTD on the Unusual server at all? There are some servers who do have large combat rooms that have the plugin enabled, but for the most part, as it stands now, our Unusual Map is not the most combat-focused map. So, should we allow the RTD plugin to remain on the server, where players can potentially roll into a No-Clip and kill/spawn sentries in important rooms, such as the opposing spawn or in the Spycrab rooms? As a moderator, I feel this would be problematic, especially when dealing with high-stakes gambles. If a high-stakes Crab was taking place, and somebody No-Clipped into the room and killed one of the participating crabbers, a shitstorm would ensue. I personally feel that it should be removed, or at the very least, certain rolls disabled. 4. Mod/Admin involvement. Most Unusual servers allow their Admins to act as middle-men for high-stakes Crabs. This lowers the risk of someone skating off without paying for a lost Spycrab. The level of involvement is very specific however. Most servers require an ADMIN to take in large-stake crabs, so do we want to keep it that way as well? That would mean Vector will have his hands full if our server takes root and generates a lot of traffic. Or, do we want the Moderators to also be allowed to act as middle-men for this server? Another discussion point. 5. Donator perks. I am uncomfortable with this one. Monoculus, HHH, and Merasmus will be VERY disruptive. I motion to bar all bosses from being spawned in this server. I'm sure you can understand why. These are my main areas of focus that I want to clarify. @Nomulous , What are your thoughts on the matters at hand, and how would you like us to enforce these points? =)

First of all the way the CLs handled the whole member protest problem was embarrassing and the final outcome even more so. I will not accept my demotion for doing nothing wrong, I would love an example where I have abused my responsibility as a mod to warrant a demotion, can't find one? neither can I. All the issue needed was an announcement from a CL to those involved to cease fighting or be punished but all we got were unnecessary demotions and bans which were lifted anyway so that makes it even more pointless! I am not angry at any of those involved in the protest. I have made amends with the majority of those involved and there are no further issues. That is not the reason I am leaving. I am leaving because of the CLs and the way this clan is run (with the exception of Nomulous). I was so angry after I saw the outcome of the protest I was thinking of leaving right there and then but I kept going until the next promo demo as I heard the demotions were a temporary demotion and everyone will be re promoted next promo demo. This is not just me I feel unjustified for I also feel for Moosty. Yes he made that picture which was wrong but he apologised for it and he should not of been demoted either. What baffles me is the only person who got demoted in the protest and got his powers back is StarmiX. This obviously points to favourism and I refuse to be in a community that favours some members above others. I was told by Hiding "you must earn your mod again" sorry but no.
