  1. Here is some background

    thread that got heated fast:

Request for a new chat rule regarding keybind usage.

    Member protests:

Forge, Muzzle, Izanagi, Kendrick, Starmix, Moosty

    Kittylicious

    Ban request:

    Kittylicious - mmo

    Oh this person.

So what will be done if the same things happen again? XenoGamers still has drama and people that might trigger kitty.

Not sure if or when I posted on a thread, but it would probably be somewhere along the lines of deal with it. Kitty couldn't deal with it.

  2. It's not hiding anything. CL's, DM's and DL's of each division could be in them. It's just so much simpler than going around every single staff member to tell them something just to post a thread and deal with things privately so that members can't see the private discussions. Things like exploits and whatnot found on the servers can be discussed there because if they're posted openly on the forums, more people will find out about them. This happened before: you could move the vending machine on one map into a door so the door would be permanently closed. If this was discussed behind the scenes, then multiple people would never have gotten banned.

I can definitely see how this would be hiding things from other people but I just feel like if there was a private forum things would be so much easier. Each to their own I guess :/

With this you remove transparency other members want. Not only that you give members from other divisions even less interaction with the other, I do not think a gaming clan should be like that at all.

Also, if someone were to abuse an exploit on the forums and gotten banned then it is their own fault. Someone willing to break rules like that would have done it eventually, better sooner than later.

  3. update #2:

haven't said much about this place since I stepped down. With the return of supermad I think the server is in good hands. As I originally said, the server will still be towny/mcmmo. mince and myself will still oversee everything and make sure the server ends up well, but with supermad, aegean, klure, and pepper working on everything I believe it'll end up much better than it could've with someone who lacks motivation for this dumb block game such as myself

sorry for all the delays guys.

    Block games 2016 LULZ.

  4. Well figure I can finally talk about this division, having spent upwards of <900 hours on a towny server, Like Narwhal said, would definitely recommend mcmmo, even though at MUCH higher levels in it it can kind of ruin the economy.. (getting diamonds and stuff from excavation, etc,) And by sign economy you mean a server shop, I could probably help set that up if its decided to get one implemented.

Also for those saying get factions over towny, in a SENSE its kind of the same thing, but not really. Essentially you can take over any town you'd like depending on how many people you have in your town, so the more people the better. I'm also not sure how I feel about having pvp enabled everywhere outside of towns but we will see. Uhhh idk what else to say, feel free to ask questions though I guess.

Just as a few sidenotes, I haven't read really any of this thread aside from a few small parts yet so idk what plugins are going on the server, but if you need any help finding plugins or whatnot I would be happy to help! OH ALSO, idk if you guys know already, but there are some plugins out there that allow you to add more than one world to the server, so you could have the towny/faction map and then have the skyfactory or whatever which doesn't take a whole lot to set up.

Everything plugin wise has already been setup minus configuring towny which is easy and updating premium plugins to 1.11. At most, the economy spreadsheet needs to be updated as it was oriented for factions. Not sure what @SuperMaddud wants to do.

  5. @Scootaloo

Steam support use to do refunds for a specific scenarios, but since then I think they stopped since people abused it to generate high end items on CS:GO for profit. However, this is a unique scenario where the person who scammed you and has the item was trade banned (unless he does not have the item on his main account, I just assumed he did). Regardless, contact steam support and open a ticket to see if they will refund you. If not, ask if they can trade ban the trade bot that received the item off of you. Also request a chain ban on all of their trade bots because typically these types of sites have a lot of trade bots.

Be aggressive if you are going to request a chain ban on their trade bots. You will probably have to provide any proof you have as well. While I doubt they will issue a chain ban, it is almost certainly worth the try.

  6. There is already DM and chest relooting. Unless there some other good reason for having the ability to destroy blocks its not gonna happen.

Already gave you a reason (which you seem to have ignored). Disabling building in HG is not going to prevent delaying, its only going to change how people delay. You're only stripping PVP aspects from an already primitive minigame that is way out of season.

  7. On more populated servers, HG will start once the lobby is full. I do not expect that kind of activity anytime soon so the alternative is to allow whoever is on to start the game themselves once everyone is on. This won't start the game immediately it will give a 30 second grace period for more people to join in case someone does try to be scum. Yes the chests were shit (ex. @MinerTeddy always seemed to have more bows than arrows). Me and owl did not have the full understanding of how they chests worked and I am going to be testing it to try and find a good item ratio. I am not going to make it so you can break blocks. That would make it too easy to scum. You dig yourself into a hole and cover it up and hold shift? Yeah no. We know HG is not as popular as it was before so that is why it is not the main gamemode that'll bring people to the server. Just something people can come on and play for fun.

If you have any other issues or concerns about HG just come talk to me on Teamspeak

Whats to stop someone from digging a hole and hiding there the whole game? Thats not something I want to happen. What other purpose would being allowed to break blocks be used for? I could see getting into buildings but this could still be used to create some really cheap hiding spots that I don't think are good for HG

So, you want to remove a key aspect of minecraft pvp because you are worried about delays? No matter what, if someone wants to delay they're going to delay. They will hide in an obscure spot and delay, building or no building it will happen.

A death match or teleport after X amount of time solves this issue. Anyone who just camps would obviously not be as geared as someone who is actively killing players and claiming all the loots. So camping would not be the key to victory.

HG is literally a game where there is bound to be avoiding. Teleporting is really the only way to solve it as far as I know. Skywars way of solving this is always having a middle point or key point to be. After X amount of time, the map crumbles until the inner part is only left which essentially forces campers out. 100% of the time those campers will be under geared and get destroyed.

Another way to solve camping is restocking the certain chests with higher tiered gear after X amount of time. This another way skywars solves campers and rewards people pvping.

  8. I'm fixing HG so it can be run w/o and admin being on and just give guests the ability to /sg start so if a group of members want to play a game they can

Not only will that be abused, what is even the point of having it?

Are you using a custom made map?

Do you have custom classes for hg (or even classes in general)?

Are the chests still filled with wood gear and very limited armor outside of wood (such as gold and iron, which whoever got that would mammoth everyone)?

The state of HG when I played during the event was pretty bad. You couldn't break blocks and all the chests had really bad gear and occasionally gear that absolutely wrecks the common gear (as apposed to today's standards where servers avoid that). This was the kind of HG that was popular 4-5 years ago. Let's look at the time now.

  9. Me and Owl already looked into minigames and servers that have minigames. Would not recommend having minigames for more than an event (especially hg/sg as it is not as popular compared to newer gamemodes).

The biggest issue is population. Low population can create boring and slow gameplay that minigames is not meant to have. Not only that, you need enough players that are willing to play the same gamemode. If we look at the recent hunger games event xG held, with 10-20 players, anyone who died early found themselves sitting in a waiting room for 5 to 10+ minutes. That is not very fun at all considering you don't have anything meaningful to do in game during the hang time. The large minigame servers have a big enough population to allow players to get into a new game within seconds. There's a reason there is only two big minigame servers.

Other than that you have to worry about the following:

    • Plugin configuration and compatibility.
    • Lack of uniqueness from out-of-the-box gamemode plugins.
    • Anti-cheat
    • Teaming in solo gamemodes (and all of the loopholing people will pull).
    • Incentive to play on the server (this applies to every type of server, but some more so than others).

Factions/Townie would be the way to go with the current foundation. However, the gamemode chosen should be the sole focus until the server is operational.

  10. There's nothing stopping someone like MineCrack, who's "all talk and no action" from managing TTT.

No need to antagonize me for pointing out facts. I would love to manage TTT if I did not have classes, managing a TTT server is time consuming but I am sure someone with less commitment can easily manage the server.

If someone wants to step up and manage a TTT division, they're more than welcome to. I also have no problem working behind the lines to code and manage server operation.

People have mentioned they are willing to be staff on the TTT server, there just needs one to be up before that happens. I'm sure @Aegean who's goal is to improve every division in xG and the clan in general is willing to put together a gmod staff team.
