My mental health has deteriorated to a point of where I have been starving myself and much worse - the stress that comes from you sexy bunch is just too much and has been for a while but I've tried to suppress it. Hello everyone. So I'm sure that some of you are aware of my dip in activity recently. Well, I wouldn't say it's a dip, it's been on a slow decline for the past few months. I feel like I owe a bit of an explanation to those who've been wondering where I've been. Prepare yourselves, this is gonna be a long (and a bit ranty) one. However beforehand, I should give a small disclaimer: this is not meant to start drama with anyone, so please don't bring that shit here. Thanks. First and foremost, if I'm being completely honest, I can't stand Team Fortress 2 anymore. I started to get bored of the game all the way back in August, and had a little dip in activity then as well, which resulted in a warning from Seg. I've tried so many things to keep the game fresh for me, but guys, there's only so much I can do. The game is so old at this point, and there's hardly ever any new content in the game. If there is, it's all just cosmetic. We haven't had a major gameplay update since the dumpster fire that was the Pyro Update a while back. And while yes, xG has a lot of fun community maps to enjoy, most of the time, you'll just be playing on the same 4 or 5 maps, with an occasional unpopular map in the mix. That's because I'd say about 70% of the maps on TGH and 50% of the maps on Surf are complete garbage, and can kill the server if we go to the wrong ones. But even if you get rid of those maps, the best/most popular maps still get boring quickly because they're so overplayed. I've also come to the realization that I can't stand Surfing. Some of you may have already noticed, but I now only come on Surf if TGH is dead (which actually happens quite often nowadays) because I actually despise surfing. Just my opinion, it is the opposite of fun. All of this together has made TF2 almost a chore for me to play nowadays. I feel like my eyes are constantly watching the clock, waiting to see when I hit the one hour mark so I can stop playing TF2 and do something I actually enjoy. Another reason I haven't been coming on as often is because (gasp, could it be the dreaded word??) drama. XG has always been a clan filled with its fair share of controversy and shit talking and all that, that's nothing new. I knew that coming in to xG, but I made myself swear that I would try not to get involved in it or cause any myself. Unfortunately, that's not always how it works, and more often than not, it found me. That's not to say I didn't always deserve it, I realize I've made some foolish choices over the years. But the point is that I've ended up in the crossfire of several disputes and controversies, and it's starting to get very, very, very old. I didn't want to let it get to me, but honestly it's so frustrating and my patience has run out with it. Just when it seems like one thing has finally died down, a new controversy suddenly flares up to take its place, and it starts all over again. Perhaps the thing I despise the most about this clan is (oh boy RANT TIME!!!) group drama. It's always been a thing, and while it has died down recently, I still believe it's a problem. Look, I get it, in life, there will always be cliques, and there will always be people who don't see eye to eye, that's fine. But I think most of it is just so fucking petty and easily avoidable. It's always two groups at cold war with each other until one person does something to a person in the other group or someone in a group gets in trouble on servers, and then suddenly, everyone has to take a side. Then you're either a "gay furry pedophile who kisses up to staff" or a "tryhard troll who doesn't like furries but plays here anyways for some reason" or some other dumb bullshit like that. It's even worse for me because I'm a mediator, so I always have friends on both sides, most of which who can't stand each other and talk mad shit behind each others backs. Most of you in this clan are over the age of 14, shape up and fucking act like it. This isn't middle school, if you don't like someone, be the better person and avoid them. Again, I don't care if you disagree with/dislike a certain person or group of people, that's fine. But you don't need to always be talking shit or picking fights or dumb shit like that. And I'm not aiming this at any one group, every group that I've been a part of has had people who do shit like this. I see not only our staff, but sometimes even our higherups doing this, like come on, grow up. *S i g h* I apologize, but I've wanted to say that for a lonnnnnnng time. These days, I've been finding myself losing sleep at night, thinking about what I'm going to do with xG. I fear losing all the friends I've made here, and worrying about how getting a second job will further affect my playtime. I kept telling myself that I can't leave, or I'll lose everything I've worked for here. But then every time I tell myself that I'm gonna be more active and work harder, a week later, my activity starts to dip again and my interest in the game falters. How long until I don't have any more chances to improve my activity? How long until I just become known as another one of the Admins who got demoted for inactivity? Why should I keep holding this staff slot when there are probably players who are far more active and far more deserving of it than me? I figure... maybe it's just best that I bite the bullet. It pains me to say it, really it does, but maybe it's just time for me to move on. I think I'm going to step down, and take a break from TF2 for a while. I'm not going to quit it forever, nor am I never going to come back to xG, but for now, I need a break. I just have too much on my mind right now, since I am turning 21 soon and I need to be looking towards the future. I want to be spending what free time I have left doing things that make me happy, and make me feel good, and TF2 just doesn't do either of those things for me anymore. I'm sorry to everyone I'm disappointing by making this, but I think it's for the best. I don't wanna end this on a negative note though. Over the last couple years I've spent here in xG, I've had some great laughs, and made a lot of greater friends. I've learned a few things and learned to improve not only as a staff member, but as a person too. And so I'd like to take some time to thank those of you who made my time here so enjoyable. To Krampus: Thank you for always being a great friend. I don't care about what anyone else says about you, you've always been good to me and I thank you for that. I was watching a stream today when the server the streamer was playing on started to do this: After counting down it did the map select menu when you !rtv as normal. I think if we can get something like this on our servers it would prove to be a really handy thing since I've noticed a bunch of people complain in the past about switching weapons with 1 2 and 3 and then ending up voting for a map instead of changing weapon, so they end up possibly dying or being a bit annoyed. Something like this would really help stop that from happening! Maybe a possible sound que too, like the announcer counting down from 5 to 1! Thoughts?

@Rhododendron @virr @Aegean After about five minutes of thinking and cracking 3 cold ones with the boys. I'm bringing up the suggestion to have a Sea of Thieves Division for XenoGamers. Now while there aren't custom servers where we could create our cancer and chaos. There is always the ability to organize crime and being able to have a "Community to call on" to help you and your crew rule the seven seas.There would be a Leader to help organize to keep track of when we could all meet up and go plundering and other leaders to take other crew mates of ships to have an entire Armada to take out as many Enemy crews as possible. It would require a great deal of coordination or some really dank memes. Either way this community can handle that sort of thing right? Inspiration: ) Now of course the game is not meant to be played alone so thats why having a already put together community even if it is only held together by one singular piece of scotch tape, Means its easier to find the people of common interest to organize and take over the Sea!

If you haven't noticed yet the server is dead af again. The occasional players are from one or two factions, and just logs on for voting/collecting things. Any information regarding upcoming events or updates that will revive the server and bring more players to it would be greatly appreciated.

So I'm surprised no one has made this vote sooner. This map is incredibly unfinished and super exploitable. Lots of missing textures and clippings that's just too easy to exploit. You don't even need no clip to get to a majority of the "out of bounds" sections of the map. On top of the fact it's very cramped and generally not much fun outside of trying to exploit it. It's just too broken to leave on rotation in my opinion.

There are a number of issues with this map that have come to my attention after playing it just twice. All issues have to do with spawnkilling. If you haven't seen the map, it features a spawn that is on flat ground and can be shot directly into. You can sit in your own spawn and do the Soldier Escape Plan taunt and kill the entire enemy spawn. You can go halfway across the map and snipe into spawn. It is basically staff hell. Please remove.

Hello guys, in this short thread I will discuss current raiding conditions. Regarding Obsidian: What is the bloody point in buying obsidian if they can take only TWO hits from TNT? Hell, endstone is a much cheaper option and it does basically the same thing. This renders obsidian COMPLETELY obsolete. Please either remove the plugin, which I recommend or simply tweak the configs. It literally takes a few minutes to do this. Indestructible obsidian is not overpowered because of many other options in raiding; backstab, withering, overclaiming. Obsidian breaker makes the game far too easy, and reliant on layers. Explosion damage to the terrain: Currently, explosion damage is only enabled if the player getting raided is online. This makes it easily exploitable by instantly going offline while being raided, and it literally makes proper base building COMPLETELY obsolete. Hell, even creepers don't work. Offline raiding is a part of the game and shouldn't bee deemed "not friendly" or "scummy". Please feel free to post your opinions below. Thanks for reading.

Hello there, I have been recently playing a lot on the xeno surf server, and I would like help identifying a surf map that I played years ago on a different server. It goes as this: It's an indoor map with a green natural, swampy, murky texture all throughout the map.This map has a background texture similar to the one I described. It has a jail with a soccer field in it that has a ball (I think) you can put in the goal. It's one of my fondest TF2 memories, and I was told to share my description on forums today.

This stems from the 2 disputes that happened last week from the TF2 community but is still a good piece of discussion even by itself. First of all, our servers are meant to be a place for everyone in our community and people who visit our servers to have fun. I'm going to try to break down what we used to do and what I feel is sometimes not reflected in our community anymore. Whenever we were on CSS, CS:GO or TF2, (even before I was Co-leader) issues obviously occurred. Sometimes we had a free-killer on the server, or a guard + prisoner arguing etc. The role of the staff should be right away to fix the problem WHILE keeping the servers interests in mind. If someone got freekilled, we would also message them after slaying; if we know it was a freekill (either via voice, all chat, or pm) "Hey man, you got slayed cuz you freekilled X during this game. If you get too close to them, they are allowed to knife since you are baiting, so you freekilled. You're not getting banned, just wanted to let you know to be careful and read the rules" This lets you not only resolve the problem and let the server know you are doing right by punishing them, but the person who broke the rules understands exactly what happens, and lets them have another go at our server without feeling alienated. There are PLENTY of situations that you (as staff) are not there for, but still need to resolve to help out the server. You should always be willing to communicate with BOTH parties, and get a good compromise or to punish them fairly if you don't feel there's anything more you can do to resolve this in an easy manner. Ask them one at a time what the issue is, gag/mute one of them if they aren't letting the other talk, after hearing both their stories, ask witnesses or look at chat logs and see what's going on. The whole point of us punishing a person in our servers (Not perm punishments) is for the SOLE reason that we want to reform them. We don't week ban people first offense, just so they never come back again. That's not the point of our mutes,gags,bans. It's to teach people that their (repeated) offenses aren't okay here, and that we want everyone to enjoy their time here. TL;DR for people who want a simple explanation, staff are not ban-bots programmed to ban anyone and everyone out of line, it's to fix any issues that people are having, and even if someone has previous offenses, if you can resolve a problem without banning, and the server is happy, then you are doing the right thing. You are there to ensure people (including you) have fun in our servers, and that no one is trying to ruin it for others.

The current rules on what sprays are allowed are really wishy-washy. As it is, sprays that aren't explicitly banned (such as non-sexual fetish material) can be removed by staff, on a case-by-case basis. This is difficult because different staff members have different ideas of what's okay and what isn't, so some sprays are allowed on certain staff shifts, but not others. I feel like it would be much easier if the rule itself explicitly outlined what is okay and what isn't.

Hello everyone, it's me! Recently, someone had the idea of hosting a community night once a week where we would play a bit of jailbreak. I don't think it's a secret that the Jailbreak server is beyond dead at this point, but I am sure there are still some people who would be down to join. While the Jailbreak server has introduced me to XenoGamers back in 2013 and I personally really enjoy the gamemode, I'm not sure how many of you guys are familiar with it and would be willing to join. If we're going to have these kinds of community events for Team Fortress 2 as well, we'd need to find a good time where most of the people are available. This event is probably going to happen on Fridays or Saturdays. So please comment down below if you're interested. If you are interested, it would be very helpful to me to be told at what time you are available, which would help to determine when exactly this is going to happen. Love, Bello! For about 2 months, the shoutbox I had on both mobile and desktop had not completely fit into the frame of the screens, meaning the Info button, Extras button (looks like a pencil), text box (where I input) and the send button were all out of sight. This was due to the option for the shoutbox I had chosen a long time ago. I cannot remember the description of it, however it was where the shoutbox was kept at the bottom of the screen and when clicked, it popped up completely to the top. Before the issue started, it stopped just short of the top of my screen, under the URL bar and tabs. Before I attempted to change it, I did ask for assistance on how to change the shoutbox position, and unfortunately got no answer. As I did change it, I believe the description was "Top" and then some other combination from the options. The screenshots provided show what the shoutboxes now look like, and @virr and I did talk about it in the #ask-help channel on the xG discord. Sadly, no resolution was made. Other side-bugs include: Reloading the page with every click before showing results, Empty pages on certain pages, no dropdowns of any kind, Inaccessible everything (Phone browser only). Any and all assistance is accepted, I just want my poor proper xG site back. My current Theme is v10 Light. And for reference, I did try it in other browsers, to worse results. My current browser is Google Chrome.

THERE HAVE BEEN NEW VERSIONS OF THE CONCEPT THROUGHOUT THE THREAD, PLEASE CHECK OUT REST OF THREAD BEFORE VOTING, THE ONE BELOW IS MY VERY CRAPPY ROUGH DRAFT. I thought about if there was a possibility there could be a plugin where the format you see below popped up on the user being warned screen where their screen gets completely filled blocking them from seeing anything except this warning. There would be a script running preventing them from slaying self to get rid of it and forces them into friendly until the countdown ends. With the hard warning they have no excuse of saying they didn't know they were warned. The command could be something like /hardwarn [user] [reason] [duration] The duration would be a functional countdown.
