@Kypari told me this morning that he wasn't going to do it until you did the Ice Bucket Challenge And I couldn't be bothered to take a selfie So have my L. Lawliet from Death Note cosplay from March (Yes, before you ask if you do, I am wearing eye liner. L. Lawliet has serious black lines beneath his eyes due to sleep deprivation as a key factor of him, so I had to do it, of course.) -
1 pointBefore this goes underway, I want to ensure there are enough people to help out and dedicate time in doing this. What I don't want is for this to end up being forgotten or skipped, much of what has happened with other previous attempts at re-vitalizing the CS:S Division. There is no rush to have this implemented, once there are a good number of people in on this (spread the word to friends if you can, even ingame on CS:S, the more the merrier) then another thread will be posted in which a time of day will be discussed and scheduled as the "Population Time" (majority rules). For now, the goal is to have this proposal be promoted and advertised as much as possible to gain followers to help out.

Ruleset for the unusual trade server.
realBelloWaldi reacted to Scootaloo for a post in a topic
So, @ColdEndeavour and myself have been working tirelessly to make our Unusual server absolutely flawless. He is currently fixing a few things with the map layout and adding a Sniper arena. While he works on this, he tasked me with drafting the ruleset for the Unusual Server, and I feel like I have covered most of our bases. I just wanted to make sure it was thorough enough. @Nomulous, let me know if there is anything you think should be added or changed. Here is the list: xG Unusual Server Rules 1. DO NOT cheat, exploit, or grief. 2. DO NOT scam others. 3. DO NOT use inappropriate sprays (Porn, shock, gore, etc.) 4. DO NOT use bigotry, racism, or vulgarity. 5. DO NOT spam chat, mic, or weapons/taunt sounds. (This includes prepubescent voices on mic.) 6. DO NOT send random trade requests. 7. DO NOT use derogatory terms to describe low-tier Unusuals, such as “Cancer” or “Shit-Tier.” 8. DO NOT beg for free items. 9. DO NOT post external links in chat. 10. DO NOT misrepresent your item statistics. (Such as claiming an item is “1of1” when 22 exist, etc.) 11. DO NOT use weapons other than melee items in the Boxing Arena. 12. DO NOT advertise that you are buying Quick-Sells. (Advertising quicksells is allowed.) 13. DO NOT abuse Donator perks or spawn bosses. 14. ALWAYS be respectful to everyone. 15. ALWAYS use English only. 16. ALWAYS make sure there’s no more than one person on the mic at all times. 17. ALWAYS seek out Mod/Admin approval before a raffle. 18. ALWAYS seek out an Admin as a Middle-Man when engaging in a Spycrab valued anything over 5 Keys. 19. ALWAYS keep your Backpack public! 20. ALWAYS record all Spycrabs as a precaution. YOU are responsible to provide proof in the case of being scammed. 21. ONLY members of XenoGamers may wear the [xG] tag. Apply at xenogamers.com for membership. 22. All decisions made by the Mods/Admins are final. 23. Breaking any of the above rules can result in a kick or a ban. Please follow the rules! -

Public opinion on the new unusual server rules, (cancer).
Kypari reacted to SupremeWolf for a post in a topic
I have no opinion here, I don't mind when Kypari calls my Heavy unusual Ew and such because it's duped. In the end it depends on the person who's being degraded and how butthurt they'll get about it. -

1 pointJealous? Why do you go make an WoW server... Oh yeah forgot you can't :( So, there's an l4d2 server floating around that's full of bug fixes and connected to the ban-list. If you ever get tired of playing with greifers, can always just patch an entire best available lobby to it. (available for anyone to use) Think there's about 100+ permanent bans I casted from it. These bans are comprised of idiots who like to ruin people's games and have never reached our other servers. (intention is clear as only 3% protest their ban and get it removed) Not costing an dollar extra to run. (shared hosting with other servers)

1 pointSo just a quick introduction. I joined the xG community december 2010/jan 2011, was co-leader for about 2-3 years and then left due to disagreements towards my fellow higherups. You might know me by Link if not by Aegean. I had a very good history with this clan with exception to duplolas having powers, and then darkwolf having powers, cuz they were retards. Anyways. Why is xG not the same as it once was? It's easy to blame rhododendron/silence for alot of it, but that's not it. He might have caused some shit, but it's not him that's preventing xG to get back to its former glory. 1. It's the staff themselves. If you go back to 2011-2013, it wasn't silence alone that was keeping the servers populated and fun, it was the members. The biggest thing was the members who were keen on being staff, and once being promoted, having a positive influence. I remember when jailbreak and other servers had 5-6 + staff on all the time (except for the late night, where myself, cristo and other night owls would populate and play if we were bored) The biggest thing is the staff don't care anymore about bettering the server. You know what I don't see? Mods and Admins constantly asking higher up what they have to do to be promoted. It's true I'm not staff anymore so it might be behind the scenes now, but I remember how active staff were on forums, always asking members what they want from the server, and even people pming me and other higherups for an "operation populate (deathrun)" or w.e . The biggest thing is from talking to many members, and even staff themselves, promotions are much more skewed then they used to be. It's not so much how active you are or how good you are in server, it's more who your friends with, and who you talk to in teamspeak. 2. People don't care. Look at the forums. There are so many posts that are stickied but not updated, or stickied that should be removed. I made a post about what the different levels of staff do for this community, and what you can ask them for help with. As higherups, you need to be constantly looking to see what you can do to make this community better. If this isn't your goal while being a higher up, then you should step down or re-evaluate your position. You aren't higher-ups so you can abuse on TS or forums, and just be the shield for your friends when something gets called out against them. You are there to set an example, and make sure EVERYONE (this is key) has a great experience in the servers and community, and that they would want to join and even invite their friends into the clan. This also means that you can't bend rules to appeal to one group of people (example the furries or bronies who don't like being insulted) but then allow NSFW avatars that are actually against the rules because (that's just my opinion). You guys need to understand that you represent the community, as soon as people go "ouu i'm gonna go check out another community" you fucked up possibly many new recruits, ad sense, and donation money. 3. Everyone is segregated. Look at teamspeak and look at the ridiculous amount of black lists and passwords in the channels. A select few staff almost never go into a public channel, and that is also very upsetting to newer members who want to meet staff and others and want to play other games with other fellow clan members. I mentioned this a few times, but this is a ridiculous thing that I should be bringing up time and time again. Staff need to acknowledge the newer members, and play games with them or even create events. Before the Cozy boys (Billy, Trif, Rpgs, etc) and I quit, Rpgs had the idea of making a community night. Once a week, we choose a few servers, set up an event to all of xG (through the forums and steam group) and just spend a few hours with the community. Anyone is welcome to join, and just play some games that aren't populated as much. (xG Minigames for example) What does this do? 1. You introduce members to a new game mode that they potentially might like and come back often too, and 2. The members get to meet others (staff, members or just randoms) and get to have fun and feel like they really are in a community. You have nothing to lose from this, you lose 0 resources and you get the community involved; something this community hasn't really done in a long time. You can provide incentives to coming if you can, if not just have fun and play games. This can also prove valuable to members and staff who are looking to be promoted but are often unseen to the people that they need to be seen by. This will not return xG to it's former glory, but it's a start. Once the staff start acting like staff, and stop being spoiled brats who are power-happy at any slight discomfort, this community can lead to the right path back to competing to be one of the top gaming communities on steam. If you disagree or would like to add any points, please I urge you to start a conversation. This is how change starts, from people talking. Thanks for the long read, there is no tl;dr because if you don't wanna read it, you don't care. -Aegean

1 pointWhen I used to go to The Vatican Trade/PPM, it was completely fine to call unusuals shit-tier/asking for quicksales. Hell, even PPM/Shadow/Other rich fucks even ask for quick sales every now and then, and when I started unusual trading, everyone started calling my unusuals "Shit-tier". Honestly, I still don't understand why this 2 rules are so important
-
1 pointHonestly, what's the fuss about buying quicksells? I honestly don't agree with that rule and the one about not using words like "Shit-tier".

1 pointCan you people stop instigating and exacerbating things, holy hell. Yes Kitty, you also are instigating something. Instead of choosing to ignore it or report it, you chose to take matters into your own hands and add fuel to the fire. While I can see why you would act out due to frustration, the only thing you're doing is making matters worse by doing what you did. This goes out to everyone: If you're having problems with a Member/Player of the community, don't go and start a shit storm by stooping to their level. Ignore them, gather evidence of their abusive/harassing behaviour, and post a Member Protest. Be the mature individual in the argument. I'm not saying that Stumpy didn't instigate either, but everyone knows the guy can be an ass hat Also keep in mind that (as others have mentioned) this is the world wide web. If someone is poking fun at you, the best thing to do is to ignore them altogether, or if you have the option, to report them. No one wins a fight on the internet. You can call them names, you can talk in all caps to emphasize your anger, but all you are doing is giving that particular person more reason to keep going, because chances are they are a troll: someone who makes it their sole purpose to feed off of the anger of others. Closing this (because I can ;)) until a CL comes to the aid of this thread so as to prevent more shit posting.
-
1 pointAnd I know shitrating is not a bannable offense.. but it was what instigated this entire situation. Kitty started rating all my shit at 3:40, and I immediately replied in shoutbox. I did nothing before this to rustle kitties jimmies.

1 point"so well done CLs on this clan losing one of the most active, friendly and dedicated TF2 Div trade members. Give yourselves a pat on the back and maybe learn how to run a community properly because you are clueless, corrupt and idiotic from what I've seen." Maybe this is will give you a better chance of getting mod back.

Decisions?
StarmiX reacted to ChickenPanda for a post in a topic
Have you guys ever thought about how different your life would be if you made one different decision? I mean, it would be completely different. I started thinking about this last night after getting into a pretty bad car accident, and that was caused with something as simple as "what do I want for my birthday dinner?" If we stayed home and grilled burgers instead of going out, it wouldn't have happened. Just curious if anyone else has thought about this. (and yes, I did get a car accident for my birthday yay me.) -
