I just want to clarify a few things that people seem to misunderstand from my previous posts. Member tags will not change from [xG] or xG | or however you put xG in your name, the junior - senior example is something that will be automated via forums, and it will just give people a sense of accomplishment upon several hurdles that we set (i.e. amount of posts + time registered on forums). We will discuss this in detail once it's fleshed out. Getting membership was much harder and more of an accomplishment in the past, that is of course true. We made it like this because as I reiterate, the higherups do not like the idea of someone joining our servers, wanting to be a member, not being vocal enough or standing out by being funny or really good, and then not getting accepted into the community. We obviously can not force people to vouch for others, nor can we assume they will remember every member who goes on the servers. Letting members in and following alongside our competitors in this aspect is a net gain because we gain a population growth while the newer players feel like they have a place they can call home in xG. Member protests exist! We can always get rid of members who do not deserve to be a member, this should not be an issue. IF all hell breaks loose, and we truly did make a mistake, we can always change the rules around submissions. Nothing is set in stone.

Seeing the holy shit like 18 people just got member thing. I honestly dont like this idea anymore. People can join the server once and get in. Wasnt getting in xG supposed to be special? When you had to get like 10 +1s in the past it felt so god damn good to get in. Now you dont even have a vouch limit. Also I dont really understand this Senior/Junior member thing. Does it happen in promo/demos? What kind of tags do they wear? Seeing what has just happened with so much people getting in I feel bad for the people who had to try their best to get member and finally get it like after a month. I know that we want more people in but why couldnt we just reduce the vouch limit again? People arent getting vouched or getting replied to in their submissions because they either havent played and people havent seen them or people are just abstaining. I have so much questions with this new change and I hope someone can answer them.

All currently open member applications got grandfathered into the new system, that's why a lot of people got accepted at once. After today it will probably be a bit more consistent. We did discuss a minimum hours of game time before you were allowed to apply and it's very possible we might roll with something like that if people apply for member after 10 minutes or so. Even then, people with low play time will have a harder time getting accepted than someone very well known, as we do look at player stats in gameME before accepting. Which is why we're introducing membership tiers, it's supposed to create a sort of progression and give you a sense of "exclusivity" in the clan. Member promotions will most likely be brought up in p/d, yes. Tags was being discussed but will most likely not happen Because it's a band-aid fix on the problems we were having. While having the vouch system does make sure the quality of the people we accept is high, it hinders our growth by quite a bit. Once this system is fully developed, members who constantly engage and are positive factors in the community will become more renowned (for a lack of a better word) as time goes on, while people who settle for just a member tag can do so if they wish. All the higher ups are holding a meeting soon which will probably help with finishing up what we have left with the current system. Stay tuned. EDIT: Aegean is quicker than me

Well the idea of changing how submissions work was to allow more people to get member obviously. We wanted xG to stop feeling like some kind of exclusive club or something along those lines. Usually when people don't get member, they don't even try to re-apply. They just move on to some other clan, one that is much easier to get into. By reducing the time it takes to get in, and also reducing the requirements, we are then hopefully able to keep peoples attention on xG instead of wherever else it is. If you feel someone is not fit for member, you can always make a member protest, that's why the section is there. Even though I am confused about the new requirements myself, hopefully things will become more fleshed out in the coming weeks.

I'm still not sure how the new member stuff works but I'll just do how I THINK it works. -1 I still think you need more time because I've only seen you once coming on the server and that was a day ago or two and from what I could tell you were new and did NOT read the rules. I say this because I told you to remove your teleporter from spawn and you refused even after I gave you a good 10 seconds to destroy it and I had to kick you. Just from this first experience I honestly don't think you're ready to become member yet.

Now I'm obsessed with rhythm games and after seeing from Natsu's post and seeing other people's interest in them, I'd like to share some of mine. My first one is Osu. osu! I'm probably sure that most of the people heard of this, but for those who haven't, Osu is a simple rhythm game of taps and slides while adding some other spices. Pros : FREE! You fools. You stupid, crazy fools. Do you realize what you have done? You have effectively opened the floodgates to them all; this will be the end of vouching as we know it. The structure and integrity of vouches have been buried alive, and I can hear the collective whispers of the damned as the time draws near. They are coming. You have doomed us all. The uprising of the "+1 cool guy" is at hand. All jokes aside, I'm pretty skeptical about the new system. I never really saw a problem with the old system where upon reaching 10 positive vouches, the applicant was accepted (where any negative vouches would reduce the total positive) after 24 hours of receiving the final 10th vouch. I completely understand the idea behind this movement, but exclusivity at the cost of getting 10 vouches didn't [and still doesn't] seem like some impossible feat. It gave Players something to work for (as opposed to a generalized ratio of positive to negative vouches which is in effect now) and they could see in real-time where they were at in the review process in terms of monitoring their positive vouches. I personally feel that quality is far better than quantity, and that's what we got when letting Players in to represent Xeno Gamers as a full-time Member through the old system. It ensured that we let quality Players in, not just any Player off of the street, and it gave Xeno Gamers this sort of respectable air around it. Joining Xeno Gamers felt like an honour (to me at the time) and so it felt great to receive all of the vouches I did because I worked hard for them and was rewarded for my efforts by receiving a full-membership. The number of vouches not only gave the community an idea of who the Player was, but it also enabled the Higher-Ups to formulate an opinion themselves because, more often than not, it would take weeks to get in at a time. It gave a decent buffer time for Higher-Ups and enabled them to weed out any Players they deemed 'not worthy'. 2 days just seems too few to really judge a Player. That all being said, if the end-goal is quantity > quality, then it's certainly more effective in that aspect. However, this is all just personal opinion, it's just good to see an active interest from the Higher-Ups in improving Xeno Gamers in any way :coffee:
